  • I almost didn't watch the Jekyll and Hyde with him in it, thinking he'd be ridiculous but the very first song he sings got me, love the show!

  • he wasn't awful..i liked it

  • I really love this song! Especially the one by him. But I DO love Cuccioli's voice better David was my first viewing when I was eleven. So yea. XD And Cuccioli was my second hearing (:

  • u no, he's good

for his first broadway role, he was very good, especially with his "damn all the odds" note

    it just works for him

  • David Hasselhoff got all my respect, not with just his singing but with a genuinely brilliant acting performance! This by far is the best musical performance I've ever seen! Bravo, David! The stage is your true calling!!!

  • I've listened to Anthony Warlow and now David Hasslehoff. But, I very much prefer Robert Cuccioli's version of "This Is The Moment." As a side note, I actually met him in person on June 16, 2010 in NYC, where he's doing a musical titled "Dietrich and Chevalier." He plays Maurice Chevalier.

  • I thought David sang very well on this show. It was a shock at how good he actually sounded!

  • He's a tenor

  • david is at his greatest here. he make my heart pound word for here.

  • I was pleasantly surprised at Hasselhoff's performance. GOOD JOB!

However, Anthony Warlow owns this song!

  • He's really not bad, actually better than I thought. Still if you listen to this, then listen to Anthony Warlow's version, there's really no comparison.

  • The G# at "Damn all the odds" is pretty much the highlight of the performance to me. I'm always disappointed now when I watch performances of this song by other people and they don't shoot for it. I was worried he wouldn't pull it off when I first saw this, because he tended to sink into vibratto instead of belting in this show. Fantastic, though.

  • DAMNNNN all the odds!!!!!

  • Has anyone else noticed Hasselhoff's amazing telekinetic powers? 1:00 he moved the furniture, THEN the backdrop, with the power of his mind!

  • Interesting. His voice isn't that bad, I just feel that he over-emotes. I have to admit that I do prefer Robert Cuccioli's more understated version. But kudos to him. H'e much better than a lot of the celebrities I've seen try to do broadway. *couch Rosie O'Donnel cough*

  • You know what... he's not that bad! I watched him as hyde and he gave me chills! I got a nightmare that night! People should give him more cerdit. He sounds grate!

  • @ujump411 I agree. I mean, no, he's not best. But he's still very very very good.

  • Great Hoff! :)

  • I wish they had made a soundtrack WITH David Hasselhoff. I love the way he sings, especially in this piece. The combination of speaking and singing, and the emotions. My gosh I love it! :D

    "Damn all the odds!" :)

  • @Amarian86 thank u for saying all he really is a fantastic singer. Iam in with him and this musical ans in all he does....i need a fan to talkto about david with can we be friends?

  • Holy sh... 2:11 pretty much validates his entire existence. Go Hoff.

  • DAMN all the odds!!!

  • His voice in Jekyll & Hyde was brilliant! He played the characters so well and sang the songs amazingly. Thanks for uploading this, its one of my faves from the musical.

  • I was having my doubts up until the "Damn all the odds"!

  • It`s so ingenious

  • i know right he is awsome he so dramatic but the right way your rock!!! HOFF!!!!

  • @babyrulemysocks :) I know! It's just perfect!

  • wow - he can actually sing and emote and act on Broadway!

  • I love the way he says Damn. Its awesome.

  • I love that he just randomly rips his shirt off

  • everyone does dat, and for good reason, he's about to experiment

  • His vibrato is odd...kinda like spongebob laughing. I don't mean to be mean. However, he's hitting those high nights nicely!

  • He certainly didn't receive proper training, but displays obvious talent. At his best, in my opinion, his vibrato reminds me of Freddy Mercury. At his worst...he sounds like David Hasselhoff trying to sing Broadway haha.

  • indeed, or like a sheep. but the rest is great

  • Pardon my ignorance, but is this David 'Knight Rider' Hasselhoff?

If so, Wow he can sure sing!

  • @Forsei: Not very surprising, really, if you know that he used to be a singer before he started acting.

  • @Forsei

yes this is "the hoff"...and yes he is able to sing....

  • He's got a voice alright. Unfortunately, he acts like William Shatner.

  • that G#

    ..holy moly...

    ...wow...

    THAT WAS INCREDIBLE!

I like Mr. Cucioli's version better

    but that G#...damn

  • i think this is pretty amateurish, what i mean is that they could have found someone who sung it better but he does give the show star power i guess. the note on 'damn' was fantastic but the rest of it im not so sure..not tooooo baaad...

  • Believe me - I've listened to every rendition from every "trained" singer and this performance was an actual performance! Not to say that it is the best sung by an artist, but definitely the best performed. Great singers cannot always emote and act the piece properly. I think David is lacking in voice but makes up for it in actual acting and making the song believable within the play.

    Good job Hoff!

  • True that. Actors who sing are always better than singers who act.

  • Comment removed

  • Yep, those are my favorite parts too!

  • I was surprised! Pleasantly surprised. The best rendition is by Anthony Warlow.

  • While the "DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMN all the odds" thing was cool, the rest was just blah.

    That's just my opinion.

  • lol yes, i agree, for the most part. but he is the only jekyll / hyde to hit a G# on "damn all the odds", which depresses me; i can't get a recording =P

  • Audacity is a free sound recording/editing software that records straight from your sound card. Turn it on while you play the video and there's your recording :o)

  • thanks, i have downloaded audacity, but how do i record this? i can't just hit "record" while i'm watching the video...can i?

  • @LuciaMedea How do u do that I have the program but it wont let me record from my sound card so please tell me how to do that

  • You have to change the recording setting to "stereo out" or something other than the microphone in order to record from the sound card. It only works on Windows though.

  • @LuciaMedea Thank you very much

  • I'll second that opinion.

  • He sings surprisingly well!

  • i wish there was a soundtrack recording of this =P i actually loved his voice in this show...for the most part
