@clayguy1 Okay, look. We here in Britain have state-controlled healthcare and we're doing just fine. According to the World Health Organisation, we are ranked 18 in a list of the world's health systems... the United States is number 37.
@Silverwire100 Hi, sorry to bother but there are so few people anymore that appreciate the genius of Paddy Chayefsky. When I'm bored or tired or discontent I tune in to The Hospital, Network or the Americanization of Emily just to hear the English language used in all it's beauty and diversity. Listening to James Garner doing the Mrs. Minivere speech is like looking again intio Keats, or Shelley or Frost. Thanks for the reminder.
Note that from 0:54 till the end of the scene, there is not a single camera cut. I don't know how great actors do it. No director today that I know of would ever ask huge stars to attempt these sort of prolonged live-theater takes.
It's even better than that. I think everything from 0:32 to 5:09 is ONE shot, with no cuts. That's 4:37. An incredible scene, with great performances by everyone. This is a fantastic movie.
Note the smoking.. and lack of computers... lol Never mind cell phones.. haha

The Hospital and Network are the two greatest screenplays ever written. Both were by the masterful Paddy Chayefsky.

Great scene! "Where do you train your nurses Mrs. Christie, Dachau?"
No one did righteous indignation like George C. Scott.
