@TheVenturino123 if you don't want the banks to be in power it has more to do with democracy than economic policies anyways. regulating banks isn't socialism, it has to do with democratic processes. if you want to end corruption push for an end to lobbying and the buying of our elected officials, not for some different economic system that won't change a thing but the distribution of wealth.
anyways the real discussion on this page should be how heritage of the wolf and this are the same song.
@TheVenturino123 socialism doesn't work. don't mistake that with me telling you my opinion is that socialism isn't bad, i like the idea; but the same goes with marxism and communism, they just don't work. capitalism by far isn't perfect nor the best solution, but as for current political theories that exist, it is the best until something better comes along. if you need examples of socialism collapsing read up on spain. i don't have room here to explain, but its an economic disaster over there.
I'll tell you why. Because if they did, Jews would have been exterminated along with millions of more innocent people. Freedom and human rights would be a thing of the past and we would probably all be speaking German right now.
@Lathox the only thing i find bad in what you wrote was the extermination of the Jews, also Facism doe not take away your human rights. it only limits a few, Democracy does not work. and when it does it takes a long while for things to be done.
First of all Fascism DOES take away human rights. Secondly Democracy wasn't chosen because it's the most efficient system. It was chosen because it is morally right. Governments should be afraid of their people. All of the free world uses democracy, and several countries that didn't have it fought for it. Thirdly, if we are going to live together as a species we need to learn to cooperate instead of just killing each other.
@Lathox the problem is that, that will never happen...leaders will never all come to an agreement there will be disagreements about something always...."As long as there is man, there will be war"....it sucks and pisses me off...no matter how big the wars are, same shit gets repeated..until this planet is destroyed
I understand where you're coming from. War is in our nature. But I think there is hope. All around the world education is slowly improving. Religion is losing its grip. And trade agreements and nukes have already prevented dozens of wars from ever beginning at all.
@Lathox well with the nukes, I don't think a nuclear war will ever happen. I think as crazy as the political animals are around this world. I don't think anyone is stupid enough to start something like that b/c they all know it would be the end of everything if that happened. Religion is not losing its grip in the middle east at all. They are overly religious.
The Middle East is dragging along. But religion is slowly losing the battle. The Jihadists know this and that's why they fight so desparately to preserve it. Democracy has made it's way into several middle eastern countries that have rebelled against their dictators. That is the first step, gradually more secular values will set in.
@Lathox well by the way you sound. I'm sure you don't beleive what I and many other beleive in. I think the U.S is being controlled by corporations and the banks. And thats why we have been so militiristic ever since the early 1900's. Watching the documentary "inside job" about the economic crises of 2008. It provided evidence that banks and corporations are out of control and have too much influence on the u.s govnt. We need Socialism in our economic system if democracy is to be secured in U.S
@Lathox exactly, propaganda by the u.s govnt from the past makes it seem that socialism is so evil and bad...OH NO! HEALTHCARE FOR EVERYONE! that can't be! we need healthcare insurance companies denying people help so that they can secure their own profits! lol
@Lathox Not only war is our nature, my friend... As time goes along, solidarity and tolerance are growing as well. Values, which oppose war. Nationalism is crumbling... hatred is fading away. Modern world has brought humanity closer to each other, which I think, will be very beneficial.
@USteenSports and @highman2: That intrument at the beginning could even be a balalaika,a kind of triangular shaped Russian guitar with five strings. / @MrDakotaheer: Very well said man!

@anewell41 Uhh stupid learn some history because it repeated 3xs. Germany beat France in the Franco- Prussian war, Germany starved Paris out to win the war, Germany took land from France. WW1 France beat Germany and took the land back also destroyed Germanies economy as revenge for the Franco-Prussain war. WW2 revenge against France because of the Versallies Treaty, Germany could not build a large standing Army or Airforce. The Treaty was very horriable, Germany got back at France. THE END
@anewell41 Germany didn't decide to be a school bully. I am in no way condoning their actions, however WWII occured because the German's economy was destroyed by debts held against them to pay back damages of WWI. This is how hitler brought the nation under a flag. The war was to get them out of the depression... initially... then they got out of hand
the people who keep claiming this movie is set to make russians or communism look bad need to put a sock in it....you just dont like the fact that they killed whoever retreated b/c it was a law put into effect by stalin...you just dont like that fact so you try to twist things around say "oh uhh they never did that, they gave them promotions instead". just accept the facts for what they are and move on......i accept the fact that the u.s killed indians...its fucked up, but im not gana deny it..
what do you know about communism?? you read history books which books where do you live england? Usa? germany? France? they all make anticommunist propaganda.. if you work 8 hours at one day than thank to the communists.. if you are not a part of nazi empire thank to the communists..
@bavaria16 Having read about Communism in History and Philosophy I have to disagree with you there. Yes, the utopia that Marx envisioned would be fantastic, in a perfect world. But we do not live in a perfect world so I can't subscribe to his ideology. You can thank that you work an 8 hour day to Labour Unions which are not communism. Also it is not because of Communism that we are 'Nazi-Free' its because of Russia. If Russia had been under the Tsar would you hail monarchism as our saviour? No.

@MarineCorps413 what reason? why should anyone win a war? whats the point of war in the first place? none, its all b/c political animals want something and start in with another..thats why ww2 started...thats why ww1 started which started ww2...its allll bullshit
1967:: we say in Turkish siktir git means fuck off!! Communism means peace communism means justice.. Long live Revolution Greets to all Comerades in the world..
Stalingrad did not have enough strategic value to justify the atrocious number of casualties. Hitler was just as determined to take Stalin's namesake and Stalin was to defend it. Nevertheless, it did turn the tide of the war for Russia.
@royalgarrett False, it was one of 3 main directives, it Stalingrad had fallen, probably the whole caucasus would have, and germans could have had chance to reach the Urals. I agree Kursk was also very important, but without Stalingrad there would not have been Kursk. I agree Hitler should have understood when he had failed taking it, however he was really really close to make it.

@KingsofSparta oh :(. Did you know that in the forties during the battle of stalingrad there actually were a boy called sasha who was a double-agent for the russians, but he got caught and hanged by the germans. There is actually a street named after him, search: Sasha Filippov
we as humans will always want more. its our nature. some for good reasons others for bad. we cant change human nature, only adjust to our surrounding neighbors
@MontChevalier we've always wanted more it's human nature even the saints have wanted more weather it benefits you or anyone else man kind will always want more we will never be satisfied
horner used this theme in shindlers and then he used the other song from enemy at the gates in many many movies which he originally got from wagners parsifal act 2... type this in YT "Avatar, Enemy At the Gates, Troy, Willow Soundtrack Similarity".. u will see what i mean.. as to composers
@Zacq768 He does repeat himself, especially if you compare this movie with "Avatar" but you have to admit that his four-note trumpet run (not heard here) is very effective, and it doesn't leave any doubt that something bad is about to happen. It also sounds very Russian (to me at least) so it fit right in to this movie.
@Zacq768 Hans Zimmer is very good as well, if I recall correctly he wrote the Lion King music? There's a recipe for scary...the stampede/death scene with James Horner's trumpets constantly in the background! Probably too scary for little kids though :)
haha Hanz Zimmer is a bloody legend, ynow what blew my mind... when i watched an old childs movie favorite of mine (Muppet Treasure Island) and saw in the opening credits "Music Composed by Hanz Zimmer".. blew my fucking mind dude... i was always wondering as a child why the music was so epic.
Was a good film could have been better without the love interest. The romantic angle broke the films back. Some great scenes in the film and the additon of Ron Perlman was a real bonus.
@jeff551z It really does. It's by the same composer, James Horner. It's common for movie composers to have variations of a certain theme for different movies. Hanz Zimmer did the same thing.
Wow, the internet really does give lunatics to spin reality whichever way they choose.
This is why I can't take human beings seriously most of the time; just a bunch of children once they start spout empty words without the slightest bit of information to back it up and they're aware they're safe behind their computers.
Good job kids, just believe everything you're told and abuse your only source of real information by using it to spew your propaganda.
@heero171 Youtube is a real source of information? The internet site that is most likely monitored by every government in the world with internet access? The site that has repeatedly proven that it can be hacked by any twelve-year-old with no life and way too much time on his hands? This is the place you trust to hold "real information"? Really???
The internet is a source of information(the largest in human history) no?
Did I state the youtube was the only source of info? No.
My point was that even within cyberspace ignorance is still ignorance.
The refusal to think outside your own experience, or even reasonably back up the claims that you so passionately support has become so common on most comments boards and forums. I sometimes wonder how these people learned to use a computer.
I don't believe it would work for everyone 3L24 but I think for some countries, such as China, who have large amounts of people it seems to be working pretty dang well. I'm an American by the way, a Conservative too, so don't say all of us will flame you because some of us are still up for civil discussion. We're not all like Fox News, ya know.
both Communism Fasism and capatialsm have all failed socialism seems to be working tho a mix of comunism and capatalism :) now watch all the idiot americans flame me lol
the interesting thing about this film is that major konig gets killed in real life when he shoots the dummy helmet halfway into the film, its still a good film but its a bit disingenous
Forget about politics for one moment, and just realize, Vasily Zaytsev was just a soldier, protecting the place he called home. For some reason this song brings a tear to my eye, knowing that millions dyed protecting the world from the Third Reich.
@Yonaguni10000 It's called "Heritage of the Wolf" in Balto. Both songs are courtesy of James Horner. He used Russo influence in the Balto theme, so when this project landed in his lap, he knew there was nothing wrong about inventing the wheel twice. :D
@joshreynor no he dosnt rule, hes a man fighting for the nazi,s no one who fights for nazism deserves any kind of praise. mabye distant respect but no praise.
your intuition was right. listen to the theme song for schindler's list and you'll get your answer. this composition was ripped from that. i noticed it too.
@Krindol Tell me about it!! I'm a high school English teacher and I'm trying desperately to break my students of that habit. Oh, and "they're" is another bone of contention!!
@Krindol Well since everyone on the internet communicate with english, it can happen that english isn't their mother tongue, so the confusion is easy when you don't speak fluently the language.

A great theme for a new classic !!!
Sociologist66 1 year ago
horner used this theme in shindlers and then he used the other song from enemy at the gates in many many movies which he originally got from wagners parsifal act 2... type this in YT "Avatar, Enemy At the Gates, Troy, Willow Soundtrack Similarity".. u will see what i mean.. as to composers
1. ZIMMER!!
2. Jablonsky
3. Craig armstrong

If I was to be a character in this movie "realistically speaking" I'd probably be the friend that gets shot in the head in the end.

THis sounds alot like the Schindler's list soundtrack to me....
I like it, but it is very similar.
Hans Zimmer is one of the most talented and amazing musicians ever. James Horner dosent do a shabby job either.

2.Williams
3.Marricone

James Horner is way too repetitive.
Zacq768 1 year ago
@Zacq768 He does repeat himself, especially if you compare this movie with "Avatar" but you have to admit that his four-note trumpet run (not heard here) is very effective, and it doesn't leave any doubt that something bad is about to happen. It also sounds very Russian (to me at least) so it fit right in to this movie.
jl343 1 year ago
@jl343
Yeah, James horner is actually my 1st maybe 2nd favorite composer with Hanz Zimmer.
I do like the trumpet thing, maybe its just a trademark he does.
So far, iv heard it in..
-Avatar
-Apollo 13
-The Boy in the Striped Pajamas
-Enemy at the gates
-Titanic
Zacq768 1 year ago
@Zacq768 Hans Zimmer is very good as well, if I recall correctly he wrote the Lion King music? There's a recipe for scary...the stampede/death scene with James Horner's trumpets constantly in the background! Probably too scary for little kids though :)
jl343 1 year ago
@jl343
haha Hanz Zimmer is a bloody legend, ynow what blew my mind... when i watched an old childs movie favorite of mine (Muppet Treasure Island) and saw in the opening credits "Music Composed by Hanz Zimmer".. blew my fucking mind dude... i was always wondering as a child why the music was so epic.

Good job kids, just believe everything you're told and abuse your only source of real information by using it to spew your propaganda.
heero171 1 year ago
@heero171 Youtube is a real source of information? The internet site that is most likely monitored by every government in the world with internet access? The site that has repeatedly proven that it can be hacked by any twelve-year-old with no life and way too much time on his hands? This is the place you trust to hold "real information"? Really???
perciusmandate 1 year ago
@perciusmandate Oh boy.

Forget about politics for one moment, and just realize, Vasily Zaytsev was just a soldier, protecting the place he called home. For some reason this song brings a tear to my eye, knowing that millions dyed protecting the world from the Third Reich.

I loved "Enemy at the Gates".

Okay it isn't EXACTLY the same theme as Schindler's list...super close obviously...but it is different.
DaJugglingFool 2 years ago
But this IS EXACTLY the same music used in Apollo 13's splashdown scene and in Balto where he is in the snow and realizes he is half wolf
Yonaguni10000 2 years ago
@Yonaguni10000 It's called "Heritage of the Wolf" in Balto. Both songs are courtesy of James Horner. He used Russo influence in the Balto theme, so when this project landed in his lap, he knew there was nothing wrong about inventing the wheel twice. :D

your intuition was right. listen to the theme song for schindler's list and you'll get your answer. this composition was ripped from that. i noticed it too.
