@jaster33333, same here, I even went as far to take and help out in the demo the other allied units that were pinned on the beach. I slowly came from behind with long range artillery tanks as well as rocket tanks and just started pounding them from both sides. Only thing is I hope the long tom nuclear artillery isnt in the game, if it is well then it just made the game super easy then since it has long range and can wipe out multiple units

More and more people should boycott UBI due to their DRM, but especially developers. I really want some games that UBI control but can't play them due to their DRM. I wish the developers of these games had better options for their choice of DRM-type. I agree with the principal of DRM but UBI's implementation is preposterous.

@spybaz Well you don't have to for this game. Ubisoft confirmed that RUSE would not use their DRM if you linked it to your STEAM account. Since this is free, all you have to do is have STEAM when you install RUSE and register it. Then it's off to offline mode you go with nary a care in the world.

This is a result of a vast majority of beta testers saying they liked the game but wouldn't actually buy it if it had the AC2 and Silent Hunter style DRM.

See? Boycott can work!

I've boycotted UBI because of DRM. I have probably bought 20 games per year since I started PC gaming in1999. A lot of those games were UBI and were good games. The fact that you need a perma-internet connection to play SP is BS. Try playing an SP game on a plane flight with UBI's DRM. Forget it. If you can't play a game that you have paid for, forget it. They haven't thought it through. Pity.

Just played the Steam free weekend, absolutely terrible game...

Mate and I versed each other, I sent about 10 bombers to his base and bombed everything while he dropped paratroops onto my HQ and captured it so we both basically didn't own a base... cool. Also the battlefield is stupidly big, it takes 15 minutes to move anyone anywhere...

Have you tried Supreme Commander Forge Alliance and Company of Hero? The only downside for RUSE is the graphic. Now only if the graphic is like company of Hero with SC combine... it will be the best. Only problem is its WW2 theme.....

Just got the beta on steam I'm shocked at how well designed it is and such a refreshing change at how a stratagy game is played it's epic. It's a bit like Supreme commander forged alliance and Civilisation mixed together:)

I just got done also. its going to take a lot of changes for the game to be fun at all.

I had enough when I had to build planes, hunt down the hanger to select them, then click on the enemy airplanes in the air while they are flying around.

Whats worse is you tell your army to attack with the same button you use to move. So if you don't click the enemy, you just move. Its really horrible right now, I hope they change a lot. But even then, its just not going to be very good.

Its very different than other RTS. For some odd reasons C&C vetrans cant beat the easy A.I in the beta. Not that its difficult, but very different than classical RTS. The multiplayer beta is free at steam.

Agreed. Game is unique in both controls and gameplay. It takes some time to handle. But after 2-3 times of playing and get beaten by easy you get the hang of it and can beat hard bots (well only if youre good at strategy games). Though beating players is easyer than bots as they are new to this kind of gameplay also.

i downloaded the beta and i found some problems in it. this is a constructive critic.

1-there should be an option to turn off the growing units icons. ( i watching a huge tank, i like to side them on their real size.

2- you can't move the camera like in company of heroes or supreme commander.

3-the infantry has no power

4-some units like tank hunters don't shoot at At guns and they did had the power too.

thats not all but enough. plz fix it!!

2- You have more control over the camera in RUSE than CoH offers. I love being able to zoom back and see the /entire/ battle field at once.

3- I've found the infantry extremely useful when you place them in forests and towns to ambush passing enemies. Hidden infantry can instantly kill most armor entering a town. Honestly I expect them to get nerfed. Not to mention the fact that they can instantly capture enemy supply depots and bases.

The Growing icons is to represent the 'war map' theme that this game is 'played on'. When you zoom out its like it is just a war table. Which is why the units are exaggerated. (But options are ALWAYS nice.)

Never played CoH or Supreme Commander. Infantry are over powered. Get them to ambush a tank column in a town or forest.

anopther part of it is that the companies say that you dont own the game copy that you have (allthough without distribution rights). If so...it is not an ownership issue and as such the copies cannot be theft in any sense of the word. Dishonest, but not theft. Well I don't really have that stable internet connection so my gameplay would get interrupted quite often. I really can't agree with you on that Ubisoft making more money part since a lot of people are starting to boycott the firm. Now ofcourse if Assassin's Creed 2 would have any kind of online multiplayer, some kind of online validation would be totally appropriate even for the singleplayer. The internet required while playing is a total overkill even in the means of fighting against piracy.

Sorry man, using serial keys is not enough anymore. You can easily beat ANY DVD required to play DRM. FADE is the best DRM I've seen and you can pass by it.
