San Diego, a truly nice city....if you can afford to live in one of the decent parts. If not, it is not so pleasant, you will have a hard time insulating yourself from the filthy aspects of this city. Downtown has some great areas, but, it also has a lot of areas filled with drugged out dirty bums crapping/urinating on the sidewalks. Neighborhoods south and east of downtown are pretty sketchy. North of town is your best bet if you only speak english.

I agree, I just thought I'd add that it might not be good to think of RP as a godsend. How could we ever hope to live up to him then? I prefer to think of him as a highly intelligent man, weathered from experience, and having learned how to accept the failures and even the evilness of his fellow politicians, while maintaining a purity of heart and mind. Why do we need a geopolitical strategy? Why can't we just do what Thomas Jefferson once advised: "Commerce with all nations, alliance with none." I am curious as to what Dr. Paul's decision will be (although sadly, I think I already know, based upon statements that have been made by Dr. Paul over the last few months). Up until now, I admit that I had still harbored hope that the upcoming rally meant he was still in the race. I am disappointed that he will not be running. However, as long as he is in government, at least we will know that we have someone looking out for us. This is why it is so important that EVERYONE, not just the politicians, becomes involved in the innerworkings of this country. It's not too late to get our country back on track. Despite my disappointment, I remain cautiously optimistic.

San Diego, a truly nice city....if you can afford to live in one of the decent parts. If not, it is not so pleasant, you will have a hard time insulating yourself from the filthy aspects of this city. Downtown has some great areas, but, it also has a lot of areas filled with drugged out dirty bums crapping/urinating on the sidewalks. Neighborhoods south and east of downtown are pretty sketchy. North of town is your best bet if you only speak english.

I agree, I just thought I'd add that it might not be good to think of RP as a godsend. How could we ever hope to live up to him then? I prefer to think of him as a highly intelligent man, weathered from experience, and having learned how to accept the failures and even the evilness of his fellow politicians, while maintaining a purity of heart and mind. That is a tall order, but something we can hopefully attain by the age of 70 something :P

Up until now, I admit that I had still harbored hope that the upcoming rally meant he was still in the race. I am disappointed that he will not be running. However, as long as he is in government, at least we will know that we have someone looking out for us. This is why it is so important that EVERYONE, not just the politicians, becomes involved in the innerworkings of this country. It's not too late to get our country back on track. Despite my disappointment, I remain cautiously optimistic.

Most people never hear of Ron Paul. People probably heard his name a couple of times but his name gets washed awayed in the flood of Obamamania and other campaigns that control the Mainstream Media. Also, many people have turned their backs to the Republican Party and assume that Ron Paul's beliefs are the same as all of the others without taking a considerable look.

You can't have a strong established 3rd party if people don't look past the news media. Everyone is always voting the same two parties all the time. A vote for Paul in my opinion is a vote for restoring the true republican party and a voice of disatisfaction on what 'typical' republicans or neocons have been doing. Plus the libertarian ideals he has are a step to the strong 3rd party idea you spoke about. People won't suddenly jump to the new party, we gotta take steps.

John McCain, wasn't born in the United States, he was born in the Panama Canal Zone so he cannot be the President!
He is a 'naturalized' citizen, like Arnold Schwarzenegger; only natural born citizens can become President under the Constitution of the United States.
The mainstream media ignores this fact; and most American are ignorant of it. Ofcourse having the current President refer to the Constitution as 'just a piece of paper' reflects the establishment's disdain for the document.

Interesting but I think the Panama Canal was US territory at the time of his Birth. I believe he can still run for presidency. He was afterall a US resident for more than 14 years. If you were born there today that would be a different story.

Ok, conspiracy theories aside, I thought the economic crisis was caused subprime lending and being unable to pay back the loans. As well as the fact that a war that is being lost is actually expensive.
Lets stick to the economic facts here. It's about the economy - but national policy is hurting this. Its about the fact that the economy is being overlooked. Countries that are not involved in the war don't have this economic void. This makes me look to the weapons lobby that benefits from war.
