how long does it take for an African Grey to start talking

I have a young African Grey Congo I've had him for 6 mouths he has picked up whistling quick he hasn't showed hints of talking yet

@GhostAnjo By the time Mishka was 3 months old, he began to say simple words clearly. A bird is never too young to learn. Make a cd with your voice saying simple words hello, love you,bye bye. Play it for the bird, saying it along with the CD. At night sit with the bird, saying the words that are on the cd, at a slow pace. When he begins to say the words, and understands the meaning, (when entering the room say hello and walking out say bye bye) add more words onto the CD.
