I really love this reworked version of the song but I do miss the drums that used to kick in at 'this curve is your smile'. It used to conjure up the image Miranda Richardson in the film. Still a brilliant song :)
Woah. The instrumental is nearly identical to a song from Chrono Cross. Other way around since this came out first, but you know what I mean. Just surprising.
@AyaKaraRemix Just out of curiosity - which song from Chrono Cross is similar? Anything similar to Kate's music is worth a listen for me! I'd like to hear it! ;)
If you ask me, I like them both. The original and the director's cut. Singing along to them is a bonus. There's always something new in store when it comes to Kate Bush. I just love her.
Like 'Song of Solomon' and 'And So Is Love', this doesn't sound much different from the old version, so after nearly 20 years it just seems superfluous really. I think I do like this a bit more though.
@iamnotaplatypus i disagree, this version is much 'punchier' than the original and the vocals are totally different to the original, its a different soundscape

Much better, heartfelt and ''real'' than the original.

@watcherfilmsinc I have it in my head and own the soundtrack, but it's a matter of remembering which song it was :)
I'll get back to you on it!

Personally I think this one does work. I'm not keen on many of the re-recordings but this one's an exception.

Why has she suddenly adopted a lisp & has no strength to her voice? It makes all her re-recordings sound so dull & amateur.

@nerebeht
Actually she lisps a bit in every previous album, too, if you listen carefully. Perhaps it is not so noticeable to native English speakers, though.
