How do you keep a people down? You 'never' let them 'know' their history.
The 7th Cavalry got their butts in a sling again after the Little Big Horn Massacre, fourteen years later, the day after the Wounded Knee Massacre. If it wasn't for the 9th Cavalry Buffalo Soldiers, there would of been a second massacre of the 7th Cavalry. Read, and visit site/history, rescue at pine ridge. com

My Dad was a Sgt in the Red Ball Express. He was with the 4261 Quartermaster Company that ended up being stationed in Belgium near Antwerp.
After the war he was an Atlantic Gasoline retailer and they had Red Ball Service! He got a kick out of that and that is when I learned it was what he did during the War, after his Death I found he had been awarded a Bronze Star for the D-Day Landings.
apike....too cool!...my dad won a bronze star while serving with the 115th infantry (29th ID)in ETO...he landed on omaha beach on d-day.....and was transfered to 29 infantry reg in winter of '44-'45.....the 29th reg was one of the outfits used as security for the Red Ball Express.......
After D-Day my Dads unit was taken and most went to Infantry, My Dad ran into his former C/O and they talked, He said hold on, I have something that is right down your line and he went to the Red ball. My Dad was a Motor Sgt. and a lifelong Mechanic. So he was better off doing what he did best..
Many Thanks to your Dad and all those Other Heroes Who Served in this War and All The Others as well!!!
