  • So beautiful~ touches my soul!

  • @suesuesuesu1 Touches and embraces and holds... like a child's butterfly kiss.

  • Duke Ellington said that there are only two kinds of music; good and bad. This is good. Two of the most talented performers in the world singing the music of one of last century's musical geniuses. Can't go wrong.

  • @Wurlinut Well said.

  • Verdaderamente espectacular

  • Wow. Thankyou for sharing.

  • This is my favorite match up on that album. What a balance.

  • absolutely fucking beautiful rendition

  • a fantastic colabration of two genius artists

  • I love the music but Taylor's vocals not so much... is there an instrumental version of this song? By Yo-Yo Ma I mean, I've found lots of instrumental versions of "Here comes the sun" but Yo-Yo Ma's is the one I like best. Thanks.

  • It brought tears in my eyes. I love This Music <3

Going thru some hard times. God bless everyone whos going thru hard times <3

  • 8^( I don't like the changed time signature.

  • This is James' home in MArtha's Vineyard.

  • @MrDizzizz - then you have totally no idea of music - and you're probably tone deaf to boot. Sad....

  • This is it! My funeral song... Thanks for posting!

  • Superb cover. They really made this tune their own

  • absolutely beautiful... pure music and pure mastery!!!

  • I love the music, but I can't stand those vocals.

  • so beautiful as a waltz

  • Fantastic!!

  • I never thought the sun could come so sweetly.

It's not a new morning, a new season, a new life

but the blooming of a flower.

  • great wonderfulllllllllllllll

  • such an incredibly good version...

  • i hate this cover ... its tasteless and sounds like a robot

  • I think the beauty of this version is enormous, mainly because it's simple. the song, it's so simple, it doesn't need more than this to be as beautiful as any other

  • How absolutely lovely is this collaberation between Taylor and Ma !!!

Each great in thier own way, coming together across miles of musical training and differences to give us this wonderful cover of the Harrison Classic. Perfect!!

  • @photojean1 True, but James Taylor was a classically trained cellist before playing guitar.

He also wrote a song called Something In The Way She moves and after hearing it, George Harrison was inspired to write a song of the same name.

  • wonderfull!

it brings enlightenment to my heart and soul!!

  • one of the best from the Beatles

  • JODER.........Que bonito....Thanks......

  • These guys are both unquestionable masters; their recording (with Mark O'Connor and Edgar Meyer) of Hard Times Come Again No More is spot-on.

That said, I have to be honest, I think a bit more thought could have gone into this arrangement; I don't think it gains much from being in 3/4, and at this tempo it feels like the lyrics are crowded. Kind of disappointing in light of the spacious, peaceful feeling of the original.

  • @jamesshipp

definitely agree... this is good too, but i would have like to hear them do it in 4/4 and a little bit closer to the original

  • love yoyo ma and james taylor. wonderful rendition!!!

  • I think that George Harrison would've greatly approved of their beautiful version of his song.

  • I really liked this song.

  • Is there sheet music for this?

  • Does anyone know if the sheet music is available for Ma's part?

  • Does anyone know where I can get the sheet music for Ma's part?

  • Have they puy this song on cd yet and if so which cd is it on ? Thanks

  • Yes. You can see on Yo Yo Ma Cd : SONGS OF JOY & PEACE

  • Beautiful song with beautiful musicians Yo Yo Ma and james Taylor

  • dude i just said that thats your opinion, and i respected ,just desagree Peace

  • yo yo ma is the MAN lol

Just started listening to James Taylor, amazing musician :D

  • Taylor sang this at the Haiti benefit concert at the mahaiwe. It was great

  • It's funny how people don't even know who yo yo ma is, come on people, lol

  • Mighty; reminds me what a terrific voice Taylor has.

  • uoooooou

  • That's a pretty bold statement Dcow.. This song is pretty legendary but cmon dude... abbey road. let it be. magical mystery tour. revolver. rubber soul. sgt. peppers. can't deny the legends man,

  • Yo Yo Ma is one of those rare musicians who are opening up so many horizons for us. He seeks out people like James Taylor who has been for so long, also one of those opening up horizons. Music will be so much richer because of these two.

  • dont forget to add after ur coment the letters IMHO, cuz is nothing but that I mean is a matter of tastes

  • omg. This is amazing!!!

  • BEAUTIFUL (small thing) i wish they kept the Du Du, du du

  • I watched this maybe a dozen times or more today, beautiful

  • I understand you perfectly

  • MARVELLOUS !!!!!!!!!

  • that there are people who have no idea who Yo Yo Ma is, or who don't know how multifaceted and complicated James Taylor's music is, or who don't even know this song because they were born decades later . . I say, "it's all right . . ." and the music speaks for itself . . .

  • @missinglowell - Very well said.

  • 1 2 many suns around 1:20

  • James Taylor fue apoyado en sus inicios en la disquera de The Beatles Apple, precisamente por el genial George Harrison, hermoso homenaje de estos grandes de la musica como lo son el cellista Yo Yo Ma y el mismo JT:

  • Who is Yo Yo Ma? He and JT played good music together.

  • Who is Yo yo MA?

  • is a incredible cellist :D

  • Just great! nice artists and nice song!!

  • MY WEDDING SONG!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This soothes the heart

  • so pure. Gives me goose bumps.

  • who is origin artist of this song?

  • The Beatles

  • thanx a lot :)

  • @javilence The Beatles did write this song but it wasnt John Lennon or Paul McCartney that wrote this song it was George Harrison. Harrison later became involved with the following bands, (The Quarrymen, Traveling Wilburys, and Dhani Harrison).

  • @javilence Actually the original performing artist is the Beatles but it was written by George Harrison

  • Yes! George Harrison of the Beatles wrote the song.

  • @Zetto129 George Harrison, The Beatles album Abbey Road 1969.

  • @Zetto129 This is actually a song that George Harrison wrote. He wrote very few songs that the Beatles recorded but the ones they did are great!

  • @Zetto129 omg
