Yes the instrument needs tuning; it always does thanks to the west-facing large stained-glass window in the organ loft. Every day when the sun goes down, the temperature in the organ loft goes up dramatically, esp. in the summer. The window has finally been UV treated and that will help somewhat but not entirely. So you either live with an organ that's out of tune most of the time, or get an electronic simulation. Guess which i'd prefer... (There are no regualation issues that I am aware of.)
This is one of my favorite settings by Paul Manz. Well done. Can you give some particulars of the instrument? The instrument does sound as if it is in need of tuning and revoicing would help. This may also be an issue of registration.
I know I am guilty of playing it too fast, but I play it as I sing the hymn in my head. I also have a recording of this on Youtube but I think I had entirely too much coffee before recording it :)
Thanks for this wonderful rendition of the Paul Manz arrangement!

Yes, that's the church. I have quite a few videos taken there showing the organ, the recent renovation, and the 50th anniversary celebration.

I don't know what key this should be in, but I didn't hear anything atrociously out of tune. :)

I love this piece - I first heard it as the recessional for my Grandfather's funeral, and I liked it so much, I had it played at our wedding.

Thanks, yes I have played this for several weddings!

Thanks. There is a tendency to play this too fast - doing so robs it of its grandeur.
