  • 0:40 to 0:45 is aphrodisiac

  • Beatiful Beatiful! Paul! It's Beatiful to heard you !

  • the WU vs Beatles mix from GZA - Labels brought me here

  • One terrific instrumental from an underrated LP. Too bad about the drumming!

  • "Talent" rare word these days.

  • i kind of like the way paul plays drums. Not complicated but a good basic style style

  • Amazing that Paul is playing every instrument on this album!!

  • Wish he made more stuff like this.

  • @Maoszman check out the fireman...."nothing too much just outta sight"....that's Paul circa 2009 I believe

  • Ill break.

  • the bass.

  • Paul was the best...John was great but het got too fruity and whacked out when he married Yoko

  • "Rock'n'roll springtime--take one."

  • Thumbs up if you had or still have this album.

  • Who tuned his drums? They don't sound right.

  • The drumming on this song is so cool it's been sampled by among others: the Beastie Boys, Common, and, most recently, The Roots.

  • sketch for "monkberry"??

  • Can't believe this was made in 1970. So cool.

  • excelentisima rola de Paul ,segun me han dicho el toka todos los instrumentos o sea un verdadero genio eh? grax por subirla

  • @LegoBricKing I'd say Ricky, used a lot on Abbey Road...and this is too "defined" to be the Hofner. Then again, I thought Band On The Run was pure Rick, and there seems to be a lot of Fender Jazz on it...

  • get a record player, tweak of bass, by this record on vinyl as was intended, turn it up, be amazed.

  • Everyone calls Prince a genius because he plays all the instruments on his albums but this song qualifies Paul to be considered a genius for the same reason (including many others).

After listening to Steve Vai all morning, this sounds very very refreshing.

  • Everyone calls Prince a genius because he plays all the instruments on his albums but this song qualifies Paul to be considered a genius for the same reason (including many others).

  • love it. bass in this is amazing. the genius of Paul McCartney

  • A esto lo llamo una excelente combinación de los instrumentos sin necesidad de que canten. esto si es Paul Mc Cartney puro.

  • A pure gem!

  • IN THE POST BEATLES/MOTOWN EARLY 70s, DJs PLAYED ANYTHING IN DISCOS/CLUBS THAT HAD A BEAT THAT PEOPLE WOULD DANCE TO. MAINLY BLACK/LATINO ARTISTS, WITH CTA, McCARTNEY, & the STONES AS SOME NOTABLE EXCEPTIONS. THIS IS ONE OF THOSE SUCH SONGS, AS WERE MUMBO & LOVE IS STRANGE IN 1971. THIS MAN & THE GROUP HE CAME FROM ARE DEITIES, AND THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS CLASSIC, TOO-SHORT DANCE TRACK. DAVEDJ

  • @spdavies Have you really listened to all his albums especially the last three or so? If you haven't you're missing a lot.

  • sounds so modern

  • I just love the sound of Paul's electric guitar on this track.

  • Can anyone tell me what chords he's strumming on the acoustic guitar from 2:03 to 3:05 (and especially the chord at 2:38 and the one he switches to at 2:49)? Thanks!

  • @rkodavey It's just a 12 bar blues in G Play a bar of each chord below G G G G C C G G D D G G He may be using a capo on the third fret and playing the following: E E E E A A E E B B E E
  • @shashi2005 he uses a capo

  • Great song, haha written Sir Paul a Brit...

  • Don't fuck -.- he's not better in any way than Ringo

  • we love paul !!!! we have found this tonigh as thier is a fan in the house!! long live the KING!!!!!!!! claire and anita!!!! xxx What a ldgend!!!

  • es la gran leche

  • Always loved this tune. He's a better drummer than Ringo!

  • This album has a charm that grows on you.

  • i love this song

  • Common - Thisisme

  • can believe that Paul composed this album on his own!?!?! HE'S MY HERO!

  • @MyFairyKingRMT You must be a Queen fan. Love their 1st. 5 albums. In my opinion they are masterpieces. Heavier sounding than their later music.

  • yes :) my nickname reveals it ;) thanks for noticing, yeah, I love them so much and I also love their 1st 5 albums

  • Hey, I just noticed something. At around 2:05, the guitar part sounds the same as what he scats in "Heart of the Country." Same rhythm anyway - I don't know about the pitch. I guess he had the theme in his head and only solidified it until "Ram"

  • McCartney and Ram are my favorite albums by him. they are raw. and just awesome. they are his best solo work easily.

  • @MattTC1028 I have always said that McCartney & Ram are his best albums. Raw and extremely unique and not overly produced like his later albums.

  • they are just him at his best. playing most of the instruments, and this is him still pumping out some beatles-esque material. wings was great, but some of it got a little cheesy. this stuff is just real experimental music.

  • @MattTC1028 You are so spot on. It's like he had to prove himself all over again as a solo artist.

  • @MattTC1028 ALL of the instruments.

  • @lakefloor i was referring to this album and RAM. he didnt play all of the instruments on RAM.

  • @MattTC1028 Ok got ya. And an awesome album that was!

  • @maximum1954

I love most every song on both albums

  • This was used in the Top Gear winter Olympics special that happened to be aired in Australia tonight. Someone at the Beeb is switched-on.

  • Paul is so quirky. Love him.

  • I could play this one over and over. Love Macca's guitar work. What amazes me is the lead guitar he plays, which is absolutely fantastic.

  • @PaulieDi I adore the Macca's guitar work on this track. It's awesome and I never get tired of hearing it. :)

  • @spdavies... your opinion sucks ass.

Just my opinion - sorry if it offends you, or anyone else.

  • commmmon this is paul

  • Estoy de acuerdo RAULITO, que rola tan CHINGONA, viva PAUL M.

  • This is almost like grunge. I'm sure many a college rock band played this track.

  • ESO ES MÚSIKA!!! Que bella música carajo, preciosa en verdad.

  • I have this album in my memory, each bit is just awesome

  • One of the best instrumentals ever recorded - one man playing bass, drums, keyboards, acoustic and lead guitar - BRILLIANT !

  • I bought this album the first week it was released. It was like buying a new Beatles album for the first time! Truly amazing! Fantastic album!! Amazing he played all the instruments, he followed this with his next Brilliant Lp "RAM"

  • Only a couple of months ago my mom gave me this record for when she was my age, and i have not heard such a great album before.

  • Paul Made it. All instruments. "The Beatles c´est moi". He said. He used a simple 8 track studer recorder, simply plugged directly back to the recorder. Note that the middle of the song was a second erased part, but gave to the song a real feel.

  • 4 track....8 track wasn't there yet.(lol!

  • It's indeed 4 track, although 8-track was already available at that time (a part of the White Album and Abbey Road were recorded with 8 track). It's funny to see how almost 40 yrs onwards the McCartney album and Ram are now being regarded as the holy grail in rock and roll....at the time those albums were released people wondered what was wrong with Macca...well let's just say the man was way ahead of his time ;)

  • Are you sure it was only 4 tracks tape?

I have some doubts because I had an old paper magazine with an interview with Paul, about this album, and in one of the pictures we could see the "studio" (I think it was some Paul's house part) with a tape machine with a wide tape (1/2 inch I guess) not necessary to 4 tracks only (standard 1/4 inch tape).

    ???

  • @jotape1960 You might be confusing the modern day cassette 4 track 1/4 inch tape with the Studer J37 4 track 1" inch tape recorder that Paul used on this album? The 4 track recorder that Paul used is nothing like the modern day home 4 track recorders. Those 4 track recorders were extremely high end for the time(1970). Apples to oranges in quality. Plus the mixing consoles, microphones, etc, he used were high end. 4 tracks sounds small, but those 4 tracks were the best in the world.

  • @jotape1960 The basic tracks weere recorded directly into the 4-track console by-passing a soundboard altogether. For some of these songs, Paul transfered the 4-track recordings to 8-track at EMI booking time under an assumed name. Then he filled in the remaining tracks. Maybe I'm Amazed was one of the tracks this was done with. The idea was to record the whole album in secret. There wasn't even any pre-publicity. It just came out to everyone's surprise.

  • I love this instrumental and have not heard in many years. Now that I have, does anyone notice that Paul's bass is slightly sharp in contrast with the rest of the instruments on this track?

  • Yes, you're right. But just a tiny bit. Maybe a 1/4 or less of a whole tone sharp. He's such a terrific bassist, though.

  • No ID used these drums for Common's this is me.

  • It's the sing of Burn after reading's film

  • To give an end to all that crap about pros and contras McCartney statements, just notice one thing: Sir Paul's just been the only one of four beatles able to record a whole LP on his own (this, more than once, think of it).

The rest of it, any talented they could be, always needed s.o. else's help 2 record... I don't judge, I just consider raw facts. As they are.

  • Tobh the 'Paul' I could really do without. Should have rejected it..teh state gets to give u a pat on the back & take possession of your name. Paul's contribution to music & musicianship btw is undoubted, though all that counts is how good the music is. WHether the musican is a virtuoso or not is of no interest.

  • @Bass69Line This is true. Whether you love or hate his music, he has on multiple occasions recorded entire albums on his own(McCartney 1 & 2 for one thing), playing all the instruments and doing so in an interesting way. Even if one doesn't consider this is a good song, he does get some interesting sounds, on his own. Even Band on the Run, he didn't record it on his own but all he had was Linda, Denny, Geoff Emerick(engineer) and a half baked studio in Nigeria--he still played most of it.

  • @Bass69Line While I can see your point, that line of logic leads strange places - Prince, for example, has recorded far more classic albums on his own than Macca has. As far as I know, the same goes for Stevie Wonder. Does that make them better than Beatles? Now there's a tasty question...

Nice little ditty though. Sir Paul has great feel.

  • @bearinfantry anyone would have to concede George's first 2 albums crapped over paul"s ...Ram was ok but All Things was brilliant and LITMW was pretty good ...wings "wildlife was shit...and "McCartney" sounds like a demo/bootleg other than Maybe i'm amazed ,,,its just slop.

  • @bearinfantry All Things Must Pass? Good but not great. Badly over-rated. Thin vocals. Terrible production. Dated mysticism. A third album that's unlistenable, and the other two albums only add up to about 60 minutes of music. There are about 3-4 great songs on it, some good ones, and one plagiarized song. Ram is a far, far more inventive album musically. And McCartney's solo debut may not be to your taste but it's gotten so much critical respect in recent years, we can't call it under-rated.

  • @TheMrosin "All Things Must Pass" overrated? Really? Let's see what you pointed out....thin vocals? Well that's George's voice. Terrible production? You call the intro to "Awaiting On You All" terrible production?! Dated mysticism? There's PLENTY of eastern mysticism out there right now. Third album un-listenable? Not if you're a musician! "Ram" is one of Paul's best. "All Things Must Pass" was George's finest moment and it was never equaled again as far as I'm concerned.

  • @bearinfantry I like the beatles. like all four guys--- george was great... i really like all thing must pass... the whole album, but he wasn't more talented than paul, sorry.. this is stupidity... such great as the esb.... george was great.. but paul... you can't compare them....

  • someone needs to use this in a film already.

  • totally agree. had the same idea the first or second time i heard it - you would even think this was tailored made as a film score.

  • Jerry Maguire, 96

  • Some travelling scene, or spy movie at the least would be gnarly.

  • they've used it in jerry mcguire

  • Esta canción sale en el trailer de "Quemar después de leer", de los hermanos Cohen!!! :D

  • woow este hombre es un dios ...gracias paul

  • ビートオンプラザwww

  • Paul is a superb bass player.

  • @bunchie1966 and drummer, and piano player, and rythem guitar, and singer, and just about everything else.

  • The Macca announced the song as "Rock and

    Roll Springtime".

Wonder why the title got changed? LOL!!

  • If it's personal taste, you should just say that you don't like it, rather than offering critiques - unless you are a musician and composer yourself, that is.

  • Thanks for all these 'McCartney' songs. Nice one.

  • This is vintage Paul during the Beatles days writing amazing tunes like this and his guitar playing hasn't been equalled on any album with an exception Band on the Run perhaps.

  • This is Home-Made-Music and Paul as a One-Man-Band, great stuff from 1970, this album was published even before the Beatles breakup-

  • that because all these songs are really beatle songs just unfinished and the other beatles really didnt wanna finish them so paul did them on his own and released this album.

  • la espera al fin termino... gracias!!! esta melodia esta de h****vos

    AAAAaaahhhhh pinches drogas!!!!!

  • wooow a good trip song!

  • the more i listen to this album, the more i love it

  • aint that the truth!

  • lo mejor con o sin drogas............

  • esta rola esta de pocamadre te invita a viajar pero sin drogas heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • Thanks Paul!!!...fantastic, I love that bass line Master.

  • I was born 1970 when this album arrived. It's like my inside. Best music in the world. If someone said hey" deserted island", one album you can take with you.....this is my music. My life. I never get bored hearing it..better than any Beatle album...in my opoinion..or let's say "more special.

  • This song is too cool. I first heard it during my college days at CSU in Fort Collins in the 70's. I couldn't believe Paul McCartney could be so good without the rest of The Beatles. I don't think anything after this song compares to this one, but that's just my opinion.

  • this song is also featured during a montage scene in jerry maguire-- where i first heard it

  • Love this song!!!!

  • great song!

  • I love this instumental. I'm looking for Oo You, the song that proceeded this one. kc440

  • "oo you" has been uploaded! hell yeah! :D
