BMWs and lie... well BMWs, amazing at the track. the m6 will beat the merc at the track any day. but the merc will spank any bmw in a straight line any time.
The real difference b/n Merc's and BMW's are in the CORNERS.
BMW's are much more refined, balanced, precise, and sporty cars by definition. MERCs AMG department put Giant BITurbo systems to make their cars competitive. ///M division relies on lightness, precision and quality.

Just look at latest Mercedes cars that our out or coming out class C63 amg coupe was chosen over M3 in few reviews and Black series is coming out. Would anyome here really track a 150k plus car..? the real reason people like the M series vs the Amg series is because only 1 of the amg cars come in a traditional manual...suspension for suspension AMG is better...BMW has no supercar...Mercedes has several...if the SL 65 or CL 65 or S65 came in a 6 speed transmission no one would buy an M5, M6, or 7 series
@sticmann19xx It depends what you want your suspension for. Mercedes has much softer suspension than BMW, making them good for comfort but not so much for corners or driver feel. Also, the BMW M1 is considered a supercar by many.
@Exowar01 NOT A FACT. Yes, beemer's engines make more Hp to CC generally, because mercedes also designs their engines to last forever. I work on cars and I have seen mercs with over 300,000 miles on them where the engine is still running with no rebuild. I have never seen a beemer like that. Every mercedes can make far more than it is, they just want to make reliable cars. My uncle loves beemers, and has owned many 3 and 5 series and they always have engine problems. EVERY SINGLE ONE.
Dunno which ones he has had, bu the ones in my family, E39, E46 E38 (old school) last long. Only major problem my dad's 540i had was the radiator, but that's normal. Had a 400SEL before that, to replace the suspension because it was bad. Other than the self sealing doors, AMGs are cars to be driven in.
@Thtblkbrit I'd have to say that I think AMGs are for driving, but that is me. He had many, but the one that almost drove my uncle insane was the new 335i. He bought one and around 10k miles it started to have problems. Just about every thing you could imagine went wrong. Fuel pump, exhaust leak, oil leaks from everywhere, misfiring, etc. He spent the next 6 month in and out of the dealership. Finally they replaced it under lemon law, the replacement did the same. So he gave up on 335's.
@MercC23k very strange, i know many people with 335i & d's without any problem... maybe your uncle should check because few people do rag them things around. he should look all over the cars before buying. or maybe he just drives to agressivly himself? :S
@MercC23k It's quite funny, because since i'm 7 my dad has ownd many Bmw's, from 3 to 7 series, he had a 525 from 94' with 382.000 km and it had NEVER had any problems with the engine, and the other once he had were tougher than fucking tanks, i'm not lying, i have nothing to win for defending Bmw, but, it's just that my dad & now myself have experienced what it is to drive a Bmw, and know that you have a reliable, fast, good looking car, and that believe me, makes them the best ( for me )

@MercC23k You apparently have never seen an actual BMW or been on some of the older BMW forums. I own a BMW E30 1987 325i and It has somewhere around 311k miles on it and the only things I have had to was replace the wires and the normal maintenance type of things. My grandparents bought it in Germany new and we have owned it ever since. So maybe you should do a little more research next time before you start speaking out of turn.

I went to an official BMW/Mercedes (It was owned by the same guy) and they said it has more like 400k miles on it. all in all Benzes are nice I love both of them in fact, but the truth is that BMW has better technology then MB... if the M6 was boosted with 2 turbos like the 65 is it would walk all over the 65... BMW has always focused on technology like the M6 5.0 that revs to 8500 RPM... anybody could drop a HUGE motor in a car and boost it...but BMW can make the same results with technology... Do love the torque of the Benz though...Wish my M6 had it...

@planchik You must think technology is having the most mirrors to do your makeup while u drive... OK..EX1.. my M6 had a 7 speed SMG tranny that clutches and rev matches for me.. Benz has yet to develop any sort of shifting mechanism that isnt a Auto Tranny.. EX2 My M6 at the push of a button goes from 360HP to 500HP (MDM Mode) which also gives me the option of soft moderate and stiff susspention for racing.. benz just goes up and down..lol so what does Benz have the BMW doesnt?
@planchik Not only that but Mercedes always needs a bigger motor to put out the HP that BMW does because they lack technology.. Different styles for different people. If BMW is so great, why is there no competition for the SLR, 65 AMG, or the SLS?

I have driven M3's new and onld and omg its so stiff i do love the car but its too stiff for me for every day driving. While in my E55 i can have comfort that drives like S class and sport that driver like a sports car i love bmw but when it comes to top end performance it has nothing on benz.you need to take back seats AC and all other toys out of bmw benz does the same with comfort

Seriously people, I love cars but you all are taking this too far. I'm a huge BMW & Porsche fan and I love Mercedes engines, they have some of the most incredible engines no doubt. Once your dealing with tuned cars though, it's anyone's game, the credit should go to the tuner. I've seen a tuned Honda Fit beat a tuned a and stroked M3 that doesn't mean I want a Honda Fit or love BMW any less.

Would anyome here really track a 150k plus car..? the real reason people like the M series vs the Amg series is because only 1 of the amg cars come in a traditional manual...suspension for suspension AMG is better...BMW has no supercar...Mercedes has several...if the SL 65 or CL 65 or S65 came in a 6 speed transmission no one would buy an M5, M6, or 7 series

@sticmann19xx It depends what you want your suspension for. Mercedes has much softer suspension than BMW, making them good for comfort but not so much for corners or driver feel. Also, the BMW M1 is considered a supercar by many.

@Exowar01 NOT A FACT. Yes, beemer's engines make more Hp to CC generally, because mercedes also designs their engines to last forever. I work on cars and I have seen mercs with over 300,000 miles on them where the engine is still running with no rebuild. I have never seen a beemer like that. Every mercedes can make far more than it is, they just want to make reliable cars. My uncle loves beemers, and has owned many 3 and 5 series and they always have engine problems. EVERY SINGLE ONE.

Dunno which ones he has had, bu the ones in my family, E39, E46 E38 (old school) last long. Only major problem my dad's 540i had was the radiator, but that's normal. Had a 400SEL before that, to replace the suspension because it was bad. Other than the self sealing doors, AMGs are cars to be driven in.

@Thtblkbrit I'd have to say that I think AMGs are for driving, but that is me. He had many, but the one that almost drove my uncle insane was the new 335i. He bought one and around 10k miles it started to have problems. Just about every thing you could imagine went wrong. Fuel pump, exhaust leak, oil leaks from everywhere, misfiring, etc. He spent the next 6 month in and out of the dealership. Finally they replaced it under lemon law, the replacement did the same. So he gave up on 335's.

@MercC23k It's quite funny, because since i'm 7 my dad has ownd many Bmw's, from 3 to 7 series, he had a 525 from 94' with 382.000 km and it had NEVER had any problems with the engine, and the other once he had were tougher than fucking tanks, i'm not lying, i have nothing to win for defending Bmw, but, it's just that my dad & now myself have experienced what it is to drive a Bmw, and know that you have a reliable, fast, good looking car, and that believe me, makes them the best ( for me )

@MercC23k You apparently have never seen an actual BMW or been on some of the older BMW forums. I own a BMW E30 1987 325i and It has somewhere around 311k miles on it and the only things I have had to was replace the wires and the normal maintenance type of things. My grandparents bought it in Germany new and we have owned it ever since. So maybe you should do a little more research next time before you start speaking out of turn.

I went to an official BMW/Mercedes (It was owned by the same guy) and they said it has more like 400k miles on it. I hope you continue on your narrow minded path and not appreciate a good car when you see one. all in all Benzes are nice I love both of them in fact, but the truth is that BMW has better technology then MB... if the M6 was boosted with 2 turbos like the 65 is it would walk all over the 65... BMW has always focused on technology like the M6 5.0 that revs to 8500 RPM... anybody could drop a HUGE motor in a car and boost it...but BMW can make the same results with technology... Do love the torque of the Benz though...Wish my M6 had it...

@planchik You must think technology is having the most mirrors to do your makeup while u drive... OK..EX1.. my M6 had a 7 speed SMG tranny that clutches and rev matches for me.. Benz has yet to develop any sort of shifting mechanism that isnt a Auto Tranny.. EX2 My M6 at the push of a button goes from 360HP to 500HP (MDM Mode) which also gives me the option of soft moderate and stiff susspention for racing.. benz just goes up and down..lol so what does Benz have the BMW doesnt?

@planchik Not only that but Mercedes always needs a bigger motor to put out the HP that BMW does because they lack technology.. EX CL65 V12 with 2 turbos has around 630HP...But if you drop 2 blowers on a V10 M6 it puts out 800 HP and kills the 65 even with 2 less pistons... even the CL55 which still has a bigger motor a 5.5L Supercharged V8 has same HP and loses to the M6 with a 5.0L V10 less the blower...here is a video of a G-power M6 eating the CL65....enjoy! youtube.com/watch?v=eYH4QsfrT7M

The 55 motor throws out 516ft/lb of torque which dwarfs the 384ft/lbs of the M5, which you fanboys love to leave out. BMW makes high power with low torque, mercedes is just the opposite. Different styles for different people. If BMW is so great, why is there no competition for the SLR, 65 AMG, or the SLS?

I have driven M3's new and onld and omg its so stiff i do love the car but its too stiff for me for every day driving. While in my E55 i can have comfort that drives like S class and sport that driver like a sports car i love bmw but when it comes to top end performance it has nothing on benz.you need to take back seats AC and all other toys out of bmw benz does the same with comfort

Seriously people, I love cars but you all are taking this too far. I'm a huge BMW & Porsche fan and I love Mercedes engines, they have some of the most incredible engines no doubt. Once your dealing with tuned cars though, it's anyone's game, the credit should go to the tuner. I've seen a tuned Honda Fit beat a tuned a and stroked M3 that doesn't mean I want a Honda Fit or love BMW any less.

@nawzy202 Wrong,my wife has an X6 M and I enjoy no more than taking on a buffoon in an ML 63 who believes he has a faster car. And the X6 wins easily. Click on a few X6 postings here on Yoy Tube to get better educated on this Mercedes nightmare.

@BMWSupermann listen i love x6 m5 m6 but if you wanna talk tough bring what ever you are running over to denver co i got few modified e55 waiting for you. Second Brabus has better performance numbers then gpower 0-60 0-200mph third sl65 vanish case closed.

Ask any of the people who's cars you have read about in magazines if they would like to come and try their luck.If they cannot beat 372Km/h I suggest they stay at home but I would really enjoy humiliating more Sprockets and Rockets. Here nobody wants to race me anymore so it's a little boring. I have thrashed ever Brabus,AMG and GTR that has been made and we have rather highly modified cars here son.
