You gota download process monitor.Put the game in.Minimize the game.Activate process monitor and go back to halo 2.Then u can play.

Umm i installed it on vista and then edited it on xp i got 1 more question do you have to update the live at all? if so i might need vcredist.msi and that might be why its freezing there and shutting down with an error

I ccreated an iso of my copy. It doesn't matter if you use the proper disc, or use an iso. They're identical and do the same thing.

Try installing it the manual way. I ran into a bunch of problems using the download from halo2xp*tk, that site is only good for fixes
