Cool. Nice truck. Love the old classics. Your truck is a beauty. Thanks for posting the video. Oh cool looks like I'm the first person to comment on this video.
Man, I have many miles under my belt in an old binder much like that one. Worked for Allied, pulling furniture with it. Ran a team and when we were down, on of us would throw furniture pads on the doghouse and front seats and sleep across it. Not very comfy. That old motor was called a "fuel squeezer", I think. Big horse, little hammer ;)
With a wind deflector on the roof, we'd average around 7 mpg.
Had a 13 speed roadranger. That was the first truck I ever drove.
Not sure how many are on it. But I'm the 4th owner and it started out as a Ryder truck in Miami . from there it was used to hall a trade show trailer for a company in Chicago for many years. They parked it in doors the entire time they had it . (Since the mid late 70's.)
The guy I bought it from also parked it in doors. in addition, I was the only one to drive it while he owned it. (He didn't have a cdl.) I think in the 6 years I drove it for him. I might have put on 400 miles. as for the smoke. I have engine cleaner in the fuel and Oil. I have changed the oil since then. The old guys on ATHS said all it needs is to have the rack ran on it .then she will be good as new.
she runs great and the front end is tight. I can let my hands off the wheel while going down the freeway and it will hold the lane no problem.. I had the owner before me put new tires on and battery's before I would drive it for him. So it has new skins. The cherry on the deal was I only paid $1,500 for it !!!
Well... since you can't seem to spell "cares" right, I guess you wouldn't have noticed the original spelling error. And some people care quite a bit about calling it the correct name. I was just pointing out the spelling error, thats all.
i love this sound and great engine, no computer no problems
