  • Why did you change the design from wraping around the left of the bolt catch like it is in the video, to wraping around the right side like it is on your site (areveng.com)? or am I wrong and that is not your FCD?

  • Considering that Most of the people on here havent had a malfunction in a firefight they really have no clue, but this would've save a bit of time clearing my weapon in afghan with my old ass M4. When does it look like you will have them for purchase? and where would I be able to get it?

  • one handed operation... outstanding!

  • I won't knock someone for creating something that others might find useful, but I'll never be tactical enough to need this. It's good to see someone bringing a good idea to life though.

  • The Magpul BAD lever is a better concept in my opinion. You can't drop the bolt with that device. Pretty cool though.

  • @agreg24 At the tactical carbine match in my area i've seen many guys using the magpul bad lever. It works good.Except for when their rifle goes empty and they are attempting a speed reload they sometimes release the bolt too soon accidentally because their trigger finger hits the bad lever before the mag is seated. Usually while trying to release the mag. They then have to take more time to chamber the rifle.I am afraid the B.A.D.will lock or release my bolt at the wrong time. Not the FCD

  • @NotLegalinCalifornia That sounds like pilot error. As for the BAD locking or releasing your bolt intermittently, that cannot happen unless the shooter touches the lever. I have used mine extensively and haven't found it to get in the way or operate without me touching it. When I first got it, it felt foreign as any major change to a platform. With a little practice, it now works perfectly for me. I also like to be able to drop the bolt with my fire control hand.

  • @agreg24 The fact that the malfunction CAN happen is not acceptable. I've seen some of the best shooters make mistakes under stress. Plus the advantage of the fcd is when I have a bad enough malfunction that I need to lock my bolt back before I can drop my mag. I can pull the bolt back with my reaction hand while pushing the mag button with my trigger finger, locking my bolt back all in one motion. Less excessive waste movements by taking out the step of having to use the bad lever.

  • @NotLegalinCalifornia It sounds like you are a good thinker and shooter. Try the fcd out. You may like it.

  • All malfunctions that require remedial action, for instance a double feed, require mag release and bolt lock.

  • @datderdude I JUST PURCHASED ONE OF THESE THAT I THOUGHT WAS YOURS BUT IT IS ONE THAT AREVELATON ENG APPARENTLY MAKES THAT IS BENT UP BEHIND THE BOLT CATCH I WANT ONE THAT IS STRAIGHT UP AND DOWN LIKE THE ONE SHOWN IN YOUR VIDEO HOW CAN I GET ONE AND FROM WHO

  • @SILVERTIPP09

You bought the actual production model, whereas the video depicts the prototype. I'm sorry for the confustion, but can assure you that the redesign produced a superior product.... I take it you wish to install the FCD on a SR15??

    Kind Regards,

  • Not knocking it at all, but I can't think of a time I've ever needed to drop my mag and lock my bolt back at the same time. When your mag runs empty the bolt locks back and it's easy to simply drop the mag. I guess I don't quite get it.

  • @jerzsubbie Then you need to get some professional instruction in regards to position 3 malfunctions.

  • @scottfn308 Luckily I've never had a type 3 malfunction but when induced I prefer to simply drop the mag and clear the rifle. If every single AR had this device I might think differently. To each his own.

  • Nice.

  • ....... About three years ago I was wishing someone had come up with a way of doing that, but wasn't able to find anything. I briefly tried to figure out how it could work but was unable.

You, sir, are a genius... I'll definitely be looking into getting one of these. Awesome job.

  • @lamarbrog

I am no genius... but thank you.

  • great great innovation !!!!

  • Definitely a plus to speed up the SPORTS process of clearing a jam.

  • So simple, and definitely needed in my opinion. Sure, if you don't have a malfunction, no problems, but if you do need to lock the bolt back, and don't have a spare empty magazine to jam into the rifle, and also don't have a spare left arm to press the bolt release in, then this is the answer. Great work man.

  • Well? When can I get one?!?

  • What a clever little gadget, good job.

  • I'm in for at least two. We sold the hell out of the Magpul BAD lever when I taught a tactical carbine class. These would sell mo' better. There was a thread on AR15.com and I guess the forum Nazis and industry partners didn't like the competition since this is so much cheaper and easier to make. Please keep us posted. If you don't get going I'm going to have to make my own two piece device so I don't have to dis-assemble my bolt catch. LOL

  • So what happened with this?

  • @alebar85

The device is currently in production, stay tuned for updates.

  • patent pending. meaning it is not in production as of yet. you cant buy it

  • @bornin86: Actually, patent pending means just that... Patent pending. Almost everything on my AR says "patent pending" on it, even most LaRue mounts and a lot of KAC products that have been out since dinosaurs roamed the Earth.

I too am curious when this will reach production... I'd also like to know what it will cost and if there would be a version with a ambi magazine release?

  • Looks good and is a great idea. Where can I buy one?

  • Looks very promising? How much and where to buy? I'd love to review it.

  • very good idea keep us updated on the forum

  • I am definitely intrigued and would love to have one for a T&E.

  • Awesome-where and when can I get one?

  • I like it.

  • Cool idea
