Ok, I don't love Joe Lally's solo music. It's good but not really up my alley. He did, however, provide more to Fugazi than anyone else. Think of some of the most memorable Fugazi songs, or the ones that stick in your head the most. It's usually the bass line!
I agree that Joe Lally really made Fugazi, what it was/hopefully still is....in the future, I still love his bass lines, and his singing isn't horrible, but its not great either, just sort of there. People get better the more they do though, like I loved the Guitars on the later Fugazi albums versus the first ones, it was good on the first ones, but the later ones had more interesting guitar parts.
I think every member of Fugazi had an equal stake in the band. Canty + Lally is one of my favorite rhythm sections no doubt, but Mackaye + Picciotto is one of my favorite guitar duos as well.
Lally and Canty gave the band its great rhythmic foundation, Ian brought his masculine straight forward Ian Mackayeishness to the band, and I think Guy brought a lot of the artier and noisier influences into the band. They were quite a perfect group.
This is one very "cheap" video. =p

Pause at 1:24 . It would make a fairly cool album cover.

It's not bad, but check and see if you can drop the decibals on your camera, maybe to -20
sound pressure levels might be to much.
