This song was on the cassette of Doggystyle back when it was released in 1993/94. But when I purchased the CD this song was missing. This song was my fav song on the CD.

@omd0 it actually wasnt... the original release of the album included this track...there was some disputes with the isaac hayes camp after the original release and it had to be pulled from the album... however it woulda cost too much money to redo the artwork so they left the track listed tho its actually not on there... thus, the first shipment of doggystyle is actually a collectors item for true hip hop heads... and now ya know...
I'm met snoop in Fairbanks, AK, and being a celebrity the man covered it live....yes the Father put the Mic in check , and the crowd......wow......I stood in front of a couple of 60 years old white couple too watch the show.... shit was crazy, good time.
@Pronarkoman Kill that noise I am frm the EAST COAST too Dipset go hard but you cant honestly say this song is garbage THIS SONG BANGS KICKO you gotta give props where props are due.. The whole doggystyle album was tight kid as a matter of fact all deathrow from the 90's was fire.. We had fire too like tribe, busta, all of bcc, biggie, nas, jay z LETS KILL THE BULL AND JUST RECOGNIZE REAL MUSIC!!
@aktorpb yo homie, I luv that eastcoast shit too. I'm a muscian lover, I love all music ya digg, but even you know this song is FAR from garabage, or you would'nt be listening to it. Snoop ain't lyrical like the east homie, he smooth as hell, that's what gives a kick in snoop. Just like there some smooth eastcoast songs like this. Everybody got differnet styles, thats what makes up the best in oldschool hip hop. I'm not a fan of the new eastcoast, but the old, wasn't nothing to be fucked wit.
@Slushpup2 Yeah, I'm glad that I both this CD when it first came out. My copy has G's Up Hoes, Hoes Down, but my friends' CDs don't have this track. This is actually favorite Snoop track. " If you don't give a .................." Holla!
@RussX5Z they didnt decide 2 cut the song it was on like the first 100,000 copies of the album and they sampled an isacc hayes song but didnt get it cleared so they removed the song from the album
@lorddreg Sample Clearance issues. G'Z Up Hoes down contains a sample of "The Look Of Love" (Dusty Springfield cover) By Isaac Hayes. It wasn't cleared until after 2005 after the most Current Re-issue of "Doggystyle" - The Dual Disc was released.
Irv gotti based his sample of The Look of love for Ashanti's "Rain on me" On This and Jay-z's "Can I Live", hence why she has the same Drum/gong intro not from the Hayes track and why her rap remix contains re-sung lyrics from Jay-z
ahhh yes!!! This was on the original Doggystyle TAPE!!!! I had it.........But if you purchase it now, it's not on there...this was that hot ish right here!!!!
Damn this smooth as hell. Old Snoop need to come back. Not trying to say that he sold out or anything because he didn't, I just miss the old Snoop Dogg.
It's only on the original album when it first came out. So, if you still have the original album since 93 then your in luck. BEST SNOOP SONG EVER, HANDS DOWN!

I doubt it ,unfortunately. They re-released The Chronic and you'd think they'd put Deep Cover on there like it was supposed to be... or even on the bonus disc... but nope.
@biglex42 yeah ppl dont realize how much doc and rbx wrote for them.....DOC was really gonna be the first star on Death Row until he had that car accident......no one can do it better was such a great album because DOC doesnt revel in misogynistic rhymes like the rest of death row did and was one of dre's last albums using utempo beats
I have this on my 15 Years On Death Row 3-disc set released at the end of 2006. glad they included it on that release because i could never find a copy of the original first pressing of Doggystyle. same with 2Pac's "Pain" and "Loyal To The Game" that made it on that set. could'nt find those 2 songs at all before that set either. great song.
Where were the 4 tracks left off??? I know Next Episode OG was left off, Gz up Hoez down off the rerelease, and DoggyStyle was a long cut that never made it past the floor. but whats the 4th?
this on the original album.best song....imo.........i was 12 when this came out with my sony discman.............walking through jr high in the 90's listening to snoop dogg>>>>>>>>>>>>
OK OK! i will buy the OG release today on ebay! the remastered version has 13 tracks and the skits are not taken out! they are just on the openings of the songs! the OG release has 19 tracks and as I know, G'z Up, Hoes Down is on track 19, the last track!!! wikipedia says that it is track 18, I changed it today! I will see it, when I get the album^^ PEACE
@muzicsince1990 I know, right. I had this CD when it was first released. Don't remember what happened to it but had to get it replaced. When I got it again, this song was left out. It wasn't til years later that I heard the he didn't have the rights to sample Isaac Hayes' version of "The Look of Love". Oh well...
i live on the east coast yo and yo i had to grow up first before i could appreciaate this real wess wess. now i recognize. this is that cali shit no snow no stress no sticks no seeds haha nigguh what....luv westcoast
@fuckutube15 oh fuck its been a long time I've been on utube .....try dipset anthem song,I'm ready, and many classic songs from camron or juelz cuz jimmy can't spit like them but he have some good shit like:Harlem,Life as a rider...

OK OK! i will buy the OG release today on ebay! the remastered version has 13 tracks and the skits are not taken out! they are just on the openings of the songs! the OG release has 19 tracks and as I know, G'z Up, Hoes Down is on track 19, the last track!!! wikipedia says that it is track 18, I changed it today!

Oh well...
