  • This song wasn't left off. It was on the original cd and cassette(probably vinyl too). It was removed because of sample clearances.

  • Damn i love this old school stuff just gets me in the mood to hear alot of music from the past :) to bad they don't make music like this anymore but atleast the original artists are still around till this very day.

  • ive bought this album 16 times since 93 HIP HOP CLASSIC

  • Back when having the cassette version of Death Row albums were better.

  • MAN!!!! This came out my senior year in high school! You appreciate good music until years after it comes out!

  • delicious Left Off songs

  • the doggystyle record was stacked with a lineup of legendary bangin tracks dre is such a perfectionist he left this song off the remastered... i don't remember ever hearing the actual cd that had this song just the tape. Snoop should put this song out again a lot of people don't know about it.. always smokin blunts to this one

  • OMG Thank You Youtube!! I have this on cassette. lol This is 1 female that missed the hell outta this ish!! : ]

  • howwwww the fuckkkk was this left offff

  • @omd0 i know it was only on the cassets lol.. that pre cd mp3 era lol.. this shit bump

  • @omd0 it actually wasnt... the original release of the album included this track...there was some disputes with the isaac hayes camp after the original release and it had to be pulled from the album... however it woulda cost too much money to redo the artwork so they left the track listed tho its actually not on there... thus, the first shipment of doggystyle is actually a collectors item for true hip hop heads... and now ya know...

  • this isn't sampled from that issaac hayes joint but a cover of it, does anybody knows wich one?

  • @thatunit995 its Isaac Hayes - the look of love .

  • @prihanhk dude its my whole point that it isn't that one

  • wooooooo shiiiiit

  • and if u dont give a fuck about a bitch, the u rollin with tha row!!!

  • I'm met snoop in Fairbanks, AK, and being a celebrity the man covered it live....yes the Father put the Mic in check , and the crowd......wow......I stood in front of a couple of 60 years old white couple too watch the show.... shit was crazy, good time.

  • @Pronarkoman Kill that noise I am frm the EAST COAST too Dipset go hard but you cant honestly say this song is garbage THIS SONG BANGS KICKO you gotta give props where props are due.. The whole doggystyle album was tight kid as a matter of fact all deathrow from the 90's was fire.. We had fire too like tribe, busta, all of bcc, biggie, nas, jay z LETS KILL THE BULL AND JUST RECOGNIZE REAL MUSIC!!

  • @aktorpb yo homie, I luv that eastcoast shit too. I'm a muscian lover, I love all music ya digg, but even you know this song is FAR from garabage, or you would'nt be listening to it. Snoop ain't lyrical like the east homie, he smooth as hell, that's what gives a kick in snoop. Just like there some smooth eastcoast songs like this. Everybody got differnet styles, thats what makes up the best in oldschool hip hop. I'm not a fan of the new eastcoast, but the old, wasn't nothing to be fucked wit.

  • So why'd they take this song off the album?

  • @CoolerKing37 They didn't get the rights to sample Isaac Hayes' version of "The Look of Love".

  • @Slushpup2 Yeah, I'm glad that I both this CD when it first came out. My copy has G's Up Hoes, Hoes Down, but my friends' CDs don't have this track. This is actually favorite Snoop track. " If you don't give a .................." Holla!

  • @CoolerKing37 sample clearance

  • I always wonder why Death Row would put bonus songs on tapes instead of CD's, lol.

This was my favorite on the album.

  • memories! purchased an earlier tape version with this on it. lost tape and aint heard it since. thnx for uploading.

  • fucked up how they dropped this song off the Doggystyle album...smh

  • snoop dizzle

  • Conceited gives this joint a thumbs up you heard!

  • BEST SNOOP SONG BESIDES THA SHIZNIT.....

  • A dumb idea to cut out this song. One of my favorite tracks from Doggystyle.

  • @RussX5Z they didnt decide 2 cut the song it was on like the first 100,000 copies of the album and they sampled an isacc hayes song but didnt get it cleared so they removed the song from the album

  • Remember buying the cassette of this album which included this cut. So glad. One of the best songs on the album.

  • the beat is sick yo!

  • cognac is the drink that's drank by G's. This song is gangsta. Why did the take it off the album?

  • @lorddreg Sample Clearance issues. G'Z Up Hoes down contains a sample of "The Look Of Love" (Dusty Springfield cover) By Isaac Hayes. It wasn't cleared until after 2005 after the most Current Re-issue of "Doggystyle" - The Dual Disc was released.

Irv gotti based his sample of The Look of love for Ashanti's "Rain on me" On This and Jay-z's "Can I Live", hence why she has the same Drum/gong intro not from the Hayes track and why her rap remix contains re-sung lyrics from Jay-z

  • ahhh yes!!! This was on the original Doggystyle TAPE!!!! I had it.........But if you purchase it now, it's not on there...this was that hot ish right here!!!!

  • @GangstaFunkadelic Thanx. I always did wonder why this song was taken off da album. This is my favorite song on this album.

  • anybody diggin the beat, search MOB FOR LIFE... HUSALAH. Bay Area!!!

  • Damn this smooth as hell. Old Snoop need to come back. Not trying to say that he sold out or anything because he didn't, I just miss the old Snoop Dogg.

  • @TLJthethird haha snoop dogg didn't sell out, thats funny.

  • This tape was sick cruising along listening to this at age 16 was great

  • i wonder what snoop was like when he was a kid

lol he'd probably rap in the elementary school talent shows

  • Why am I so fly (I don't know but)...

Why am I so hiiiiigh (It's the endo)

  • Cognac is the drank that's drank by G'Z!!!

  • Shit!!!!! I hope the newer version had this song! it's so dope!!

  • He didn't get original clearance for this track so he had to remove it.

  • how good is nates hook in this

  • fetaste låten att ta en fet till :)

  • This shit still some dope, young snoop. Anybody that want to know the sample, it is issac hayes "The look of love".

  • Why cant dre and snoop come up with stuff like this again, doggystyle best rap album ever!!

  • It's only on the original album when it first came out. So, if you still have the original album since 93 then your in luck. BEST SNOOP SONG EVER, HANDS DOWN!

  • @drezx1

Best SNOOP TRACK EVER!! WORD UP!

    One, two,

    Oh what shall I do?

  • I still have the original first edition vinyl of this album that has this song on it!

  • i dont get it why is this taken off the newer doggystyle albums

    wheres the sample from ?

  • 100% snoop's best song

  • this was on my oringinal doggystyle somebody stole I brought the remasterd on it wasn't there I want this snoop back

  • @MrWARBUCKS24 it was on the first pressings of the album back in 93 but got taken off of later copies because the sample never cleared.

  • Snoop Dogg for President!!!

  • my fav doggystyle trkk, C'z up hoez down

  • This is the best snoop dogg song!!!!!!!!

  • dre used this on the presents aftermath LP. SOMEONE PUT THIS BACK ON DOGGYSTYLE NOW!!!!!

  • The sample could'nt clear thats why it was off the Re-Release

  • it actually was taking off the 93 pressings too after the 1st 100 thousand were shipped out to keep from getting sued

  • @SHPzFinest ...ahhh, that's what's up.....cause I had this song on my original tape, but could never find it again after my tape messed up...

  • Jim Jones bit hard body lol On the original, and the remix w/Max B.

  • It was on the tape, the last song on side 2-LOL. The Nate Dogg hook is crazy!

  • people make fun of Dre for being in

World Class Wreckin Crew but the truth is if he wasn't what he was b4 NWA and Deathrow we would never of heard all these great songs and beats together

  • @DaManzMoney who cares what act he was associated with, Dr. Dre is a rap pioneer. The Chronic is arguably the best rap album ever.

  • This was the song that complete the classic CD. I always said he never made a CD that compared to this one. If he would have a. Kept his flow like this he would hav been one of the best rappers if not the best !

  • its cause Deathrow spilt up and Snoop went to No Limit Records with a whole different sounds that sucked and Snoop wasn't working with Dre and these Beats anymore and its to bad i'd love a new cd like this

  • Like Dre was the smooth beat maker and sampler so after not working with Dre he was with No Limit and DPG and these guys just don't have the classic smoothness like Dre they were all gangstas like Daz and Kurupt and others producing for him I know Daz worked on this album but it was with Dre so he was there to walk them through the old stlye beats

  • Snoop will never make another album as great as Doggystyle. Still, I have bought all of his albums, and have liked songs from each one of them.

  • wtf happened to u Snoop?

  • i remember this track being on my tape when it first came out.. wish i still had this track... hopefully with the new releases of deathrow stuff.,..they can put it back on cd this time

  • I doubt it ,unfortunately. They re-released The Chronic and you'd think they'd put Deep Cover on there like it was supposed to be... or even on the bonus disc... but nope.

  • ?...deep cover never was on the chronic to begin with..great fuckin song tho

  • It was intended to be.

  • Ya it was on my tapes to why did they take it off all the new cds?

  • could clear the sample

  • damn i aint realize i typed could instead of couldn't........ good thing i got the original

  • 1993 Fall. Cleaning my house while my kids watch Barney in the back room. I shook my block with this album. Luv'd it....E.S.O

  • Oh man. no words bout this.

  • he's not hungry anymore....better we just remeber this and alwayz enjoy...

this is that old ganster sh&t

  • @CH0Murph no, he doesn't have D.O.C writing for him anymore, thats what it was. look at his linear notes and you see how much D.O.C wrote.

  • @biglex42 yeah ppl dont realize how much doc and rbx wrote for them.....DOC was really gonna be the first star on Death Row until he had that car accident......no one can do it better was such a great album because DOC doesnt revel in misogynistic rhymes like the rest of death row did and was one of dre's last albums using utempo beats

  • Snoop need to come back with music like this, since he still out there still "Pimpin"now he then fell off.

  • yea

  • this and the shinnit were the best on the album

  • Didnt Jay-Z use this same beat in Can I Live 3 years later?

  • YEA, HE DID BUT HE GOT iT 4ROM ISAAC HAYES "LOOK OF LOVE."

  • Yup, Ashanti used it too.

  • @gabone324 So did Jay-Z.

  • This was on the album in the uk, then when i brought it years later it was msyteriously missing ahh i was so disappointed

I might put this as my ring tone

  • This old snoop shit is timeless, thats when the nigga was a beast.

  • Hardest shit ever made by the Dogfather, OG's know that the old album was better!

  • Bitch Niggas Watch Mr Guy Skate Vid. and cook that crack.rape those hoes.make that kurrupt money.

  • 12 years since i heard this shit. i think on my doggystyle album it was track 19 but all otheer oggystyle albums had only 18 songs?

  • I have this on my 15 Years On Death Row 3-disc set released at the end of 2006. glad they included it on that release because i could never find a copy of the original first pressing of Doggystyle. same with 2Pac's "Pain" and "Loyal To The Game" that made it on that set. could'nt find those 2 songs at all before that set either. great song.

  • SO TRU MAN!!!! I waz really happy wen i got my box set!!!! Dat box set is tha shit!!!

  • Where were the 4 tracks left off??? I know Next Episode OG was left off, Gz up Hoez down off the rerelease, and DoggyStyle was a long cut that never made it past the floor. but whats the 4th?

  • this on the original album.best song....imo.........i was 12 when this came out with my sony discman.............walking through jr high in the 90's listening to snoop dogg>>>>>>>>>>>>

  • how da fuck is da best song on da album not even on da album? i was only 3 when dis came out so i didnt really know bout dis. i wish i did.

  • what's up youngsta this was on the original album when it came out if you can get a original copy it is track number 19 peace

  • i had bought a copy wit only 13 tracks. dey took off all da skits and dey left this off. i was tight cuz dats da only version they had.

  • That's the Digitally Remastered version. I have that version too.

  • actually its track 18 on the original album

  • OK OK! i will buy the OG release today on ebay! the remastered version has 13 tracks and the skits are not taken out! they are just on the openings of the songs! the OG release has 19 tracks and as I know, G'z Up, Hoes Down is on track 19, the last track!!! wikipedia says that it is track 18, I changed it today! I will see it, when I get the album^^ PEACE

  • it's 18, 19 is Pump Pump

  • yeah you are right! now i have the og-release! and the Interludes are named:

    Interlude #1: W Balls

    Interlude #2: Domino Intro

    Interlude #3: Chronic Relief Intro

    Interlude #4: Class Room Intro

    Interlude #5: Checkin'

...and in the booklet is a coming soon-box and there stands that Dr. Dre and Ice Cube will make an album named "Helter Skelter"

  • it's only on the the first presses from the doggystyle album! I bought it on ebay! and it's track 18 on it, not 19! 19 is Pump Pump

  • @muzicsince1990 I know, right. I had this CD when it was first released. Don't remember what happened to it but had to get it replaced. When I got it again, this song was left out. It wasn't til years later that I heard the he didn't have the rights to sample Isaac Hayes' version of "The Look of Love". Oh well...

  • Why was it taken off? This was like the best song on the album. Well, up there with the best ones.

  • this was actually top 3 favorite song on this track. The song was on the C.D but it wasnt on the tape. I was mad as hell lol
