Ok, I'm Sardinian, and this is disgusting to me too :D Anyway, sometimes ignorance is bliss: if you eat that cheese without knowing how it's made (and you can also find the version w/o maggots, which definitely helps), you find it delicious!

NB: this is just one borderline sardinian cheese, many other (legal) are produced!
