  • Excuse me what version was this D2sun V3.0?!

  • I got a d2sun for myself. My wii is d2c, set the "jumpers" as shown, but it doesn't work. When I switch power on, a blue light lights. If i insert a disc, nothing happens. The blue light is always on. Any ideas what to do?

And PS. Where did u send your chip for replacement?

  • i replaced it for a d2pro, the website is on my new vid called easy way to chip your wii, look there for details.

  • I have the same problem :-(

    I set the jumpers for D2C2 and PAL. I installed my D2SUN v3.03 chip and I get a red light(for a ms)and then a constant blue light.

As far as I know this means that the chip is installed ok.

I have tried to play PAL backup games using different media. With one disc the dvd drive didn't spin and with another the drive spun continuously with NO game being registered.

I am waiting for Verbatim DVD-r's to arrive in the mail.

Can anyone recommend a disc that actually works?

  • Exactly same things happens for my wii :<

I've tried different DVD(including Verbtaim), but still nothing :<

Please reply if u get it to work!

  • I'll post if I get mine working. Could you share the information if you get yours working too?

    :-)

  • everybody i fixed it, i exchanged this for a d2pro wii clip and had another problem at first then on the d2pro i soldered 1 wire from the j point on the wii clip to the j point on the wii's motherboard and wallah, now i can play ssbb and manhunt 2 and tenchu 4 when it comes out yay!

  • You need to give some force to put the clip on the Chip in the Wii. You don't just set it on top, you actually have to use some Force to get it on there. You may also want to put some electrical tape for more support.

  • yeah, they proberly blown the chip by sitting it on top like that

  • Did u get sorted in the end, i had the same problem last night but figuredd out how to get it workin, will check back on your response later on tonight, the solution is a little long winded but very straight forward. (no soldering or wires!!) Let me know either way.

  • Hi, I'm having exactly the same problem, mines a D2E though.

just get a flashing red led.. no blue.

Tovidie, can u explain how you fixed it??

  • It's the CLK wire, try to put a resistor of 110 Ohm between de CLK and the chip.

    Salu2;)

  • Th red light means that your Wii isnt recognizing your chip as a working component. You have to set the yellow switch (Jumpers) to your Wii's drive type (d2a, d2b, d2c) and region (Jap, pal, kor, ntsc). Now if your Wii is D2E or D2C2 drive type, then you are going to need d2sun v1.31 or greater. Or d2pro 9. I have a d2sun on my d2c2 drive, and it works flawlessly. Most of the people that get modchips, usually by the first one they see, without research. Which causes people to buy the wrong thing

  • Hi, where did you buy it from; I'm just about to order one for the kids Wii?

  • mmmmmmm

  • wtf??

  • il mio va da dio

  • HALLO

  • did your new chip work just got two of these chips

  • not received it yet, getting it by friday

  • i have just sent this chip back to get a replacement of a d2pro, im hoping a new chip will work, i'll let ya know when i get it. meanwhile check out my other vids.

  • I'm having the same trouble with the same chip!! tried asking around, you got any solutions to the problem yet!! would be appreciated.

  • no still stuck

  • you have short circuited your wii by cliping it on while you had the mains on

  • so how do i fix it?

  • get a new one or try pressing that one harder

  • ok, i have tried pressing it in, no luck so i have sent it back and have got it repaired, it should be here by tomorrow, shall i plug the chip in with the plug socket out? also someone said if it doesn't work i can solder on a resistor of 110ohms, know anything about that?

  • does your drive work if you take the chip off also always take the plug off wean opening the wii

  • yes drive works fine when chip is off and i did open the wii without it plugged in but do i need it plugged in when put the chip in?

  • no whean you put the chip on then put the plug on

  • done a d2c today and it was just plug and play

  • what chip did you use?

  • need solder 1 wire from CLIP "F" to WII motherboard "F" if your wii is D2C version

  • I have you aligned the white switches on the chip to your wii dvd drive?

  • yep

  • maybe the chip isnt installed right.and is it right for that board(maybe wii has changed borad model cheeck the model number that chip says to install on or something)

  • my board number is d2c something and this chip applies to all wiis do i have to solder a wire on or something?

  • I don't think you pushed the d2sun chip down enough. You have to make sure that it is pressed down. Push hard but not too hard. Sometimes you can hear a snap. Also once the wii-key and d2sun chips are on you should be able to take it off by hand. You will need a scalpel to pry it off.

  • Correction you SHOULD NOT be able to take it off by hand

  • And did you set the pins to the correct regions from the website you purchased it. You have to see which chip set you have and set it accordingly
