Help please .. Does anyone know if this song was written for someone special? Or maybe it's a song about a strong women who gave all of herself, and now needs someone to help her?
Unfortuntely this song desribes me. I was the hero at my school thay all loved me and came to me. But i got expelled for the way i act. Gay. It kills me everyday. I did so much to help others. i saved evryone. Who's there to save me?
@freeBITCH0 a lot of people do..I get this song has a VERY DEEP meaning but the imagery of Beyonce saying "save me from myself" wouldve been beyond epic to see her Battle it out with the part of her that is "bad".It wouldve been an interesting story line for that era considering she had the alter ego and decided to kill off Sasha last year this video could've easily been the visual for her declaration.Especially if you watched the coin toss scene from her AMAZING I AM...Tour.

I think she should perform all of the songs that is not on the album like Roc, Save the Hero, Lost Yo Mind, Postcard, Back Up, Forever the Bleed, I'll be Waiting,etc. They are all sort of better than most of the songs on her album and would be a perfect repertoire of songs to kill, but keep in mind her songs on the albums are hot tho.

Maybe [one of the] the best song[s] Beyoncé's EVER sang, both lyrically and musically. I can completely relate to it. No other song produces that amount of emotions in me.

This is one great song! Usually Beyonce doesnt sing background with male vocalist however the vocal chemistry is great with Rico. I have the I Am Cd but this song is not included on my version.

The lyrics are beautiful, but so is the arrangement (beyonce does her own arrangements) & if a less talented musician did this song it wouldn't be nearly as dynamic and wouldn't draw nearly as many people...but still; whoever wrote this song did beautifully.
@juxmook She got paid. That's what writers write for, they get the money they deserves. If she writes for a lot more artists she'll get recognition, but one great song you've written won't make you a household name. If that was the case she'd keep the song for herself.

I can so relate to this song. This is one great song! Usually Beyonce doesnt sing background with male vocalist however the vocal chemistry is great with Rico. I have the I Am Cd but this song is not included on my version.

writers rarely do...its sad, but true. The writer doesn't make the song famous; the singer does. The lyrics are beautiful, but so is the arrangement (beyonce does her own arrangements) & if a less talented musician did this song it wouldn't be nearly as dynamic and wouldn't draw nearly as many people...but still; whoever wrote this song did beautifully.

@juxmook She got paid. That's what writers write for, they get the money they deserves. If she writes for a lot more artists she'll get recognition, but one great song you've written won't make you a household name. If that was the case she'd keep the song for herself.

I can so relate to this song. My life ain't been great but my mum depends on me (She's Bi-Polar) And so does my brother (He's 10) I'm the strong one in our group of friends at school and I'll stick up for anyone who needs it, but until recently I had no support network... But now I do and I am so thankful (Especially to Miss B and my wonderful girlfriend) To be honest I would still be a broken girl if it wasn't for them.

@GuardianCBlue I belive the male background vocalist is Atlanta producer / songwriter Rico Wade. But Ill double check. This is a great ballad. One of Beyonce's best tracks vocally. Its on some version's of I Am but not on the one I have.
