  • What voices! harmony! saw them in Redding Ca 1972 through broken eyeglasses-thought they were a couple of local guys "Wow! -I say to my husband. These kids are good!" "They oughtta be" he answers- "they're the Everly Brothers..." they had a fight at halftime and left not to finish the concert...attended by less than 100 people...who can blame them?!

  • The Everly Brothers. Loved,em When I Was Younger, Still Love,em.. Timeless..

  • This is really cool to watch. Thats Buddy Hollys band doing back up. Jerry Allison on drums, Joe B. Mauldin on bass and Sonny Curtis on guitar. This is two years after Buddy's death. The Everlys and Buddy/band were best friends. Glad to see them together here.

  • Harmony from another planet!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sound this pure isn't of this world, is it.?

  • so good

  • cool

  • Two young guy and a couple of beautiful Guild guitars never sounded better. I like this stuff!

  • I grew up with these guys, and they are still one of my favourites. the harmony is awsome. they were in Kelowna a few years ago, and we sat right in the front row. They are older, but still awsome.

  • so damn beautiful. and not to mention they're Holy Crao cute!

  • AWESOME!!! LOVE IT!!!!! ♥

  • My friend and I are singing both of these songs (as duets!) in a school concert!

  • this is great I LOVE IT !!!

  • i would pay anything you want to charge to see a modern day duo sing live like this.

  • Wow...these boys will forever be in my memory!!!! My grandma (R.I.P) passed their great music onto my mom and her siblings and she passed it on to us! I am now close to 40 years old and still know every word of every song! What these boys did was create memories for generations to come and I will be proud to share their music. Although i know todays music is much more graphic and in color so not sure how well I will do, but damn it, I will try my best!!!!

  • Genius at work.

  • i can't figure out which one is singing the higher part and which one is singing the lower part? the lighter hair or the darker?

  • @iLikePeanutButter9 Don is singing the deeper notes, he's the one with the darker hair,

  • they were a big part of the start of rock and roll...legendary duo

  • I always enjoyed listening to Everly Bro's on the oldie radio station. I realized I loved them when I was surfing in Virgina Beach caught myself singing "all I have to do is dream". They have been one of my favorite of all times ever since.

  • The harmony of their voices is still woo-ing me today.

The Everly-Brothers. One of a kind - forever!

  • She's got bird-legs....

  • Till I kissed you is such a nice song I like it a lot

  • Their backing band is the Crickets. How 'bout that?

    Pretty cool.

  • whta the fuck is the lie in the title? asshole.

  • these guys are awesome

  • awwwwww this is great.....i wish i would have been able 2 meet these amazing voices..im 29 and only wished that 2days music was feeled with such meaning..when hearing this i my brain melts......GREAT UPLOAD!!!!!! luv it..

  • see Bret C. Harmon's "Dreams".

    Enjoy!

  • Fucking brilliant, thats what you call talent.

  • This was the year they both joined the Marine Corps and got all that hair cut off.

  • As for Justin Bieber, I've never even heard anything he has done and I don't want to. With all the high definition/digital technology of the modern day, he couldn't possibly hold a candle to these two guys. Even through this early television era blurry image, their good looks alone are enough to draw all attention away from some kid who wears the same haircut as the Beatles. Think of it this way: Will Bieber have his videos being played daily on YouTube in over 50 years from now??? Doubt it!

  • @1televizija He doesn't have a Beatles haircut. They tend to call it a lesbian hair cut if you know what I mean. I wouldn't even compare him to the Beatles, but I do see your point and agree with it.

  • What a fantastic clip! The Everly Brothers were just magic, weren't they?

  • I am a very lucky man having lgrown up when the Everly Brothers were starting their musical careers. Other performers cite these brothers as being the best.

  • mmmmmmmmmm!

  • wish american idol, or justin beiber, could make something as hip as this?

  • songwriting, harmonies, musicianship... real rockers in suits and tie! live music. i remember all their songs from...still good after all this time. a great post. thanks so much.

  • love love this ♪♫ ♥

  • more than epic <3

  • epic!

  • "Til I Kissed Ya"...this is dedicated to you mom cause you loved this song so much!...I love and miss you so much!

  • brilliant....perfect harmony and no electronic tricks autotune etc..its strange that they sang so wonderfully together but clashed badly off stage--- then i look at me and my sister..........

  • I dedicate all everly brothers songs to tommy.......rip...

  • They had their beginnings on KMA radio in Shenandoah, Iowa and are in process of restoring their childhood home.

  • Isabel, yeah, THATS mine too! just hadn't heard it before. -- just those voices --mind you their looks ,,,OMG

hate it when radio stations only play top two of theirs ...there were so many more we all loved--

wish my grand kids could hear those two............

this is singing...I'm kind of like you...DEVOTED TO EVERLYS--ALWAYS EVERLY

no one can ever touch them!

  • Nadine, yes I have heard Leave my woman alone......But my fav track of all times is I wonder if I care as much.........that track brings back great memories too

  • Me and my dad saw this band. This is for my dad who just passed. I love you, dad.

  • @zacek1970 Keep those good memories close to you. It will bring you comfort in these difficult times. My condolences to you and your family. This is the hard part, but things will get better.

  • Oh those were the days. Such happy memories of my teenage years. My pal and I used to go ice skating, and these 2 tracks were constantly played at the rink.. I wish I could turn back the clock. There will never be another Everly Bros.Brilliant!!

Killroy76 your taste in music is impeccable!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • the harmony was Don sang the melody line and Phil sang a third above, this was copied by Cliff Richards years later

  • Comment removed

  • Even the last few chords are in harmony with each other...these guys are incredible..their music is epic and timeless

  • the everly brothers can really capture the hearts of everyone.... their songs are from the heart...

  • There have been many Brothers and Sisters groups over the years, but none had the impact of these two boys from Kentucky..

.......Let's STAY DEVOTED To The Everly Brothers.....

    Erik a.k.a. Ricky Teal, Florida.

  • @tickyreal

ha ha ,the devoted part is not a problem !!!!

    always devoted

  • When I was a teenager back in the 50's and 60's I used to play guitar and sing along with these pop singers while listening to a 45 RPM record. Now that I am an old geezer I can sit here and get out the old guitar and sing along with these guys on YouTube....which is a lot better.....because you get more out of the song by watching them.

  • I love the everyly brothers i do... but if they added an instumental solo into half of their songs... it would be so much better... some type of bridge...anything to make the song last longer.... the song is over before i can enjoy it...... but i dont wanna take anything away from them, they are one of my favorite bands... Im 23 years old and have been listening to the, for 10 years...

  • @Aandrew878787

    amen brother

  • @Aandrew878787 im 23 too, love the Everly's

  • i like this song

  • In between the 2 songs, watch the electric guitar player hustle to change the position of his capo in time !

  • Harmony Gods :)

  • this brings back memories

  • As thirteen year old I nearly killed myself messing in the back of our old black & white TV in an attempt to get the thing working so I could watch the original program (which was December 1959). By some miracal, after receiving a severe electrical shock, both me and the TV were alive and working! I've have (posisbly due to the high voltage shock) been an absolute Everly fan ever since and if I had to choose one track, it would have to be "till I kissed you".

Many thanks for this memory !

  • i guess in a way they really kissed you, didn't they

  • @MeFloody What an electrifying..., and terrific... memory! Thanks for sharing a great story! I love the lyrics in "Till I Kissed You" too. And the way they sing it!

  • @MeFloody If that isn't "dedicated" I don't know what is. I love to hear it, especially for these guys. I feel the same way. I'd go way out of my way to go and hear them, and I did some years ago. I still don't regret it. Marc.

  • @MeFloody ha ha ha ha hahhahahaahhahahahahahahah thaats sounds like somtin i would do if i tried that. lol and i love both songs.

  • first time i heard these,on my bro 8 track

  • I met Phil and he is cool

  • your seeing the roots of the Beatles right here.......just ask paul

  • The Everly Brothers' voices seem even more beautiful live! NO duet or group was ever this good. Thank you.

  • I sang "All I have to do is dream" with my 2 buddy band to my girl in 1958 in a cafe and I won her heart with it. She was a waitress ;-)

The Everly Brothers accompanied me for years on the road in my Chevy Impala 58, driving the nights through....

I would never get tired of that music !

It's much more decent and nice than the music of some of those guitar throwing wanna be musicians in the 60's. Not that I would dislike 60's music in general !

  • Bob Dylan: 'We owe these guys everything'

  • I just heard Bird Dog on Happy Days season 4 epsode AKA Fonzie

  • Truly the best harmonizing voices to come out of the sixties music era....oh and also the beach boys could harmonize very well.

  • Is it me or does the beginning intro riff sound a lot like "slippin' and slidin'" by Buddy Holly? I'm talking about the fast version on the apartment tapes...well i guess I'm not surprised since they were all heavily influenced by one another as well as their predecessors.

  • This is the early days of rock and roll! The Beatles wished that they could harmonize this way!

  • wow !!!!

  • The Guvnors, No more . No less!!!!!

  • i love this song xxxxxxxxx

  • beautiful harmony i love their music

  • Das war halt noch Musik !!!

  • i loved the everly bros. my favorite on my 45s. and now 66 yrs old and still remember the record shops and buying my everly bros.

  • The guitar intro and parts where they're not singing sound very much like "Wild Thing" Did the Troggs get the idea for their song from "Bird Dog"?

  • It's SO great that you posted this piece of our culture ...... I thank you.

Soooooo many have been influenced by these two ____.

  • This brings back alot of memories from my teen years. They were the best!!! Makes me think of sock hops and drive-in movies Wow...starting to feel old but I am glad I grew up during this period when music was really the best...such great artists!!!!

  • @jlm1222 oh, sometimes how I wish I could have grown up in times like yours....but, being able to hear the brothers sing like this now seems to be just perfect too =)

  • the one to the right has an amazing range in singing!

  • Everly Kentucky harmonies perfectly backed by Holly's Crickets Jerry & Joe B. (plus Sonny) sadly unbilled, unannounced just 20 months after starring in Britain with the long tall Texan Thunderbolt. '58 tour buddy Gary Miller also on this Alma Cogan 'spectacular' maybe from the same Riverside Studio 2 where the long lost live 'Maybe Baby' & Bud's trailer-announcement were specially filmed - later junked by the B rit B ull C orp !

  • I'm 66 and I still listen to them. There hasn't been anything like them since. The late 50s and early 60s were the golden era of American pop. Now it's total crap.

  • Gotta love the genius ! ;)

  • This one brings back a lot of good memories form my school days

  • rockabily forever

  • Awesome is the only word that can describe.

  • They have so much talent!!! Amazing....absoultuly amazing!!!

  • You can really make a case with their aggressive chording and arrangements, they were proto metal. Beatles, Who, Hollies loved them. case closed.

  • I am from Knoxville, TN and it was here that they tried to get on a local show called Cas Walker's Farm & Home Hour. Cas Walker was pretty much our unofficial mayor back in the 50's and had chain of grocery stores too. He used his show to express his political views and sell groceries along with some musical acts. He refused to let the Everly Brothers do his show because he felt their style of music would never make it. Little did he know!

  • this is a classic show !! Loved Alama Cogan and loved the Everlys they were very popular in UK bak in the early 60s' thanx for a great clip !! peace !!!lyndloo..

  • I grew up with their songs, in Sweden. I just love their singing. So beautiful.

  • "But they are talking about Alma Cogan?"

  • They're mesmerizing...seriously. I can't stop listening to these dudes...

  • Imagine a kid from Switzerland becoming friends with a girl at school whose dad has a high executive position at the Roxy Theater, NYC? Well, I was that lucky, additionally, the dad had the Everly Bros. performing, and I got to meet them...Ahhh! America! Having been raised in a classical music environment, I also realized that their harmonies were more sophisticated than the usual 1-4-5 their peers were implementing. Their music is still good today! Love you, guys!

  • there sooo cute! <3

  • J.I, Joe B and Sonny in the background, superb.

  • loved the everly's music from the first time I heard them...Don Everly has the best voice in rock.

  • no wonder anthony kidis named his boy after these guya what a TRIBUTE.

  • Is the backing band The Crickets?

  • It certainly is. Joe B, J.I and Sonny.

  • Go....Dogs.....!

  • these guys are real dogs...!

  • 1000 star harmony!!!! Longtime five star fave video! This is the best that that there is! Thanks so much for posting these gems.

  • Just imagine if they hadn't hated each other for years.? Saw them in Dundee back in the 90's. They still had it then! One word. Harmonies!

  • Amen, what they presented. . .the emotion, the feeling, stratifying all other genre. . .and above all. . .the unmatched harmony which they display so easily. If they produced today, I would listen forever. . . one of my personal absolute favorites of all time. . .Harmonies!

  • So cool song! theyre so cute!!

  • so cool voices!!

  • where are they from anyhow did u know axel rose married erin everly? now divorced

  • The Everly Brothers are from Kentucky, USA, and it's correct... Axel Rose was married Erin Everly, destructive relationship, they get divorced

  • Good for her ! I have a lot of Kentucky friends who now live in all parts of Texas and they are very special friends ,some young adults and some around about my age . We were in the Marine Corps are their parents or relatives were .

  • Anyone related to these guys deserves so much better than Axl Rose!

  • @animagus1 Hey ya never know, Axl, Slash & Steve might give the fans a special treat in da future & like maybe reunite for 1 show on tv or something. Heck Sly suprised everyone at da Grammys years ago. I know axl was married 2 Don Everlys daughter. I think her name was erin.

  • they contreuted to the beatles sound

  • i dance to this song and its the best song ever

  • very well done.

  • LOVE IT!!!

  • The Everly Bros. are unique and original, very talented and great harmonizers, the best. They were born just down the road from where I live. I listened to their songs all the way through my high school days. Needless to say, there are a lot of good times associated with their music for me., such as getting comphy at the drive in movie listening to them on the radio., waiting for the movie to start. My girlfriends also enjoyed the wait.(grin)

  • @RealDare2 Ha,Ha! Drive-inn movies are a thing of the past! My husband and I had our 1st date there.A cheap date $1.50 a carload. He was so cheap he wouldn't buy popcorn or colas! My girlfriends said I shouldn't go out w/him again, Anyway I did,and we have been married 38 yrs...happily!

  • @estelle715 That's a cute, funny little story about your first drive-in movie date. A shewrd investment on your future husband's part.. $ 1.50 = 38 happy married years! LOL... I have the knot tied for 40 years now, and have not regretted "one day" of it.... And that "one day" was ???? . LOL Just kidding. ...... estelle715, feel free to visit my channel, my grandson Marcus (14months) is uploaded there. I am very prowd of that young man. ...... btw I kind of miss those drive-in movies! "hug".

  • The Everly Brothers were one of those groups that had great songs on both sides of their 45 RPM releases.

  • Everly Brothers were no.8 with the song Bird Dog in the world-year-end-charts in 1958

  • Great harmonies from the brothers as always. For a real treat, check out their song " I Wonder If I Care As Much" as well (you can find it in my favorites). It is another example of their outstanding harmonies.

  • Fantastic lyrics !!

  • shame they hate one another now. LLLLOOOVVEE them to bits

  • They reconciled in the early 80's and toured together for a few decades again starting then. The reason they are not touring now is that they are retired. They are in their early 70's now after all. lol

  • wat yu mea?

  • I fell in love with their sound the first time I heard them & have remained so, always

  • WHAT.........JUST ...COOL.....

  • Oldies yet FTW yeah :)

  • my gran was obsessed with don everly when she was a teenager. i can kinda see why now, he's cute :)

  • Love them! They harmonize PERFECTLY together!!! Like me and my sis haha

  • @TheLadyChin...You are right no one can harmonize quite as well as siblings!

  • My grandad love these songs. xx

  • Your granpappy has good taste!

  • Fantastic song writters, and harmonys to die for!!! Wicked

  • These 2 guys with their creative vocal harmonies influenced not less than The Beatles way of singing. Few people know this. I think also Simon & Garfinkel were heavily influenced by their unique style.

  • True, Simon and Garfunkel considered the Brothers their idols and emulated them especially early in their career. Others they inspired include the Beach Boys, Neil Young, Tom Petty, and countless others.

  • their music style was so awesome and unique.......that was real talent and music..... :)

  • I remeber them from years ago great.

  • brings back memories of my dad playing them on the sterio every weekend back in the 70's i love these guy's

  • same here all we heard as children growing up was these guys and Billy Fury and many others my sister and i still end up playing them at our parties...the old ones are thebest!!

  • Awesome!

  • Looooove the Everly Brothers!

  • Everly brothers, Phil and Don are and will always be singing their songs. Love all their videos!!

  • this brings tears to my eyes and reminds me am getting older by the day GOD am 22 now i was like 7,8 when my mum used to play this songs never thought i was gonna see then on tube.

    GREATEST band ever EVERLY BROTHERS

I know it sounds wierd but Are they still alive?

  • Yes, Don and Phil are still with us although my understanding is that they have pretty much retired now from performing.

  • Thats some serious great news man thanks.

I wish i could see them in a concert or something like that it would be awsome crazy.

I will just keep acknow;edging them now so when they pass i would be rpoud i knew them and listened to their song. And not be like those who only say great things after someone is dead.
