I must have gone through the area about a week after you. There was much more snow on the trail for you. My group was trying to go out over Whitney, but couldn't get past Rae Lake due to the snow. Great trip though! Highly recommended. Thanks for sharing the video.
@CaliCamper You gotta go backpacking! It's totally different from car camping. There's a sense of solitude. I've been on an eight day trek in Canada where we didn't see another person the whole time. Post a video if you end up getting out in the backcountry. Cheers! ~Brent
OK neighbor *THAT* was great. This looks like my kind of place. A buddy and I camped at the car campground at the end of 180 some years ago. This was prior to me taking up backpacking. If you can provide me with "any" information on this hike I would appreciate it. DO you have any links to info? Do you have any GPS route info? really anything would be great.
@dmacken11 It was an amazing trip. This was my 2nd time doing it, but it was a different experience early in the season. Lot's of obstacles on the trail from the harsh Winter. All you need is a Topo map of the area and route finding is easy. You can't really go off trail here because it's so steep. Google search Paradise Valley, Kings Canyon and there's plenty of info out there. Also, search RAE Lakes Loop for more distance.
