i had an 87 supra with a turbo back 3 inch exhaust and an HKS intercooler. stock air filter and engine with a 5 speed. at 14 pounds of boost, it made 250 whp. that is not enough to beat that 240sx with an rb25. the supra weighs 3500 pounds, the 240 weighs less than 3000 pounds, even with the 6 cylinder rb engine.

HAH i had no idea we'd get so much love from this Demetrius, just to let you all know my car (the supra) was throwing code 52 at the time (knock sensor) so by all means it wasnt at its fullest potential. 8psi on a bad turbo didnt help either. @DcEvoIX to be honest with you im not sure how much everything cost. I did alot of must haves for me like aftermarket intake mani, ACT clutch, light weight flywheel and so forth. but im sure motor and all was somewhere around 5 grand or so. I did my own wiring. The shifter fits where it is suppose to. The mounts cost me like 150 dollars off ebay with solid aluminum insulators from a sr20 which was anouther 60-70 bucks. The swap is costly which is why alot of people dont do it.

@jon3682 Once again.....the 7mgte has a forged bottom end and factory head. It only has a exhaust. The 25 has upgraded everything besides the turbo...duh. The 7mgte is only running factory boost level. A 3000lb + vehicle with 3- 4 heads(bodies) making 210-230whp will not beat a 267whp, 2800lb vehicle. We know he needs more mods. Thats obvious. ...The Sr20 isn't even an Inline 6..it's a 2 liter 4 cyl. The Rb25 is slower the 1JZ. The Mk3 Supra in this Video most likely has a 7m (non-turbo) If it's losing that badly..and this clearly wasn't a real race as I didn't hear or see anyone down shift...

@sctflasher379 Its personal preferance. Ive heard that the dsm's break down alot. I had a freind that had one and it stayed in the shop. The mk3 is heavy like the dsm but the dsm is awd. If your into stop light racing then the dsm is the way to go. But if you want something that has a better footprint for WHP safer then I would go 6 cylinder. Take the 6 and put it into something lighter is my 2 cent.

i forgot to mention that both of us are running upgrade turbos from godspeed they are t70 intake side is 70 and ext. is 58 great spool on the rb25 around 3500 without no double clutching and the rb20 around 4000

is a must for your rb25 you feel the upgrade and also 11 pounds only

my friends had the same mods and he runs 12.17 all day with out over reving the motor that much and my rb20 with same mods also ran 14. all day and rb25 power is 384 and rb20 is 256 horsepower though

my best was a 13.4 with a 2.3 60ft time. I didnt have my afc then so my car was runing rich with the atmospheric BOV. Im sure with the afc the 240 is capable of 13.00 or high 12's. But ill be going to the track again in 2 weeks with some MT's. Ill post videos up then.
