I am glad you had the courage to recogize all of this and escape from such an appalling religon. I had experience of it through a friend and feel I should have been protected even from that. @willtheman3 - Oh no, the Watchtower organization has preached against higher education. I saw entire Bible dramas at their summer conventions devoted to this topic. The WTS told us we'd have bad association and learn ideas that criticize the Bible in college. I think they just wanted to keep us uneducated. I am still not happy with them for influencing me against college.

I understand why a person vigorously defends their own religion. But since a problem exists in the Watchtower and this has been known for many years now, blown open by several internationally-known news organizations such as NBC, BBC and Australia channel 9 in 2002, pretending a problem doesn't exist doesn't make it go away. So i did some serious research about the things that we were warned about in these teachings. The JW's version of the "good news of the Kingdom" of Matthew 24:14 is that their God Jehovah will impose a worldwide cataclysm on all who did not follow "God's organization" a.k.a. the Watchtower Society, and therefore deserve a violent death at Armageddon. @willtheman3 - Oh no, the Watchtower organization has preached against higher education. I saw entire Bible dramas at their summer conventions devoted to this topic. The WTS told us we'd have bad association and learn ideas that criticize the Bible in college. I think they just wanted to keep us uneducated. I am still not happy with them for influencing me against college.

Jesus never said "real religion will be known for persecution". He said his followers would be known for love. MANY religions have been and are now persecuted.
I was in the top 1% of my class. JW's taught me college was a no-no.

Naturally anyone who dares criticize the dear leaders of the almighty Watchtower should be linked to Satan and are called "mad" and "self-destructive". The Watchtower even calls ex-members who speak out in opposition "mentally diseased" (July 15, 2011 issue page 16).
This kind of response to any honest (and even well-intentioned) criticism is why certain people invite the description of the word "cult" for their group.

Speaking against an organization is not "blasphemy". If it were a crime, the Watchtower's lawyers would have hammered Barbara Anderson and Bill Bowen many years ago. But they can't, they have nothing actionable to bring against these two. They just try to defame them.
If Jehovah should judge anyone, it's the Watchtower that puts its organization ahead of innocent people. Those who point out that the emperor has no clothes are not the ones who should be judged here.

If a fornicator is kicked out, then be sure that a Pedophile can not hide his actions before the public and he is kicked out too. I wish what Michael said were true about JW's, that they expose any knownchild molestors and turn them in to proper authorities. In reality their elders are told to do so only where specificially required by law. The other cases (at last count there are 23000 such other cases) are tracked at WT Society headquarters, and the names are not turned in.
This is harmful to children, as pedophiles continue to lurk at JW conventions and Kingdom Halls. I truly wish this were NOT the case.

The best is, I make a whole Thread about the issue of the 2 Witness rule and how JW's handle DF and how they treat transgressors of Gods biblical laws.
See for instance already what Paul is writing about that in 1. Cor. 5+6. Remove the wicked men (transgressors) from among yourselves (1. Cor. 5:13). Then such an evildoer is no more a JW and you can charge him before a court - why not? Child abuse is to serious to cover that and to let him alone. In Germany citizens fear such neighbors even.

I have seen where they take the side of the pedophile. On the Dateline NBC program many from a JW congregation in California supported a pedophile against his accuser, who had no Jehovah's Witnesses on her side. The pedophile was found guilty, but remained a JW in good standing.

We could go around and around on this, but I'm still waiting to see where pedophiles get kicked out of the JW's. Thousands of pedophiles still lurk in the JW organization because of the "two witness" rule. Elders should NOT be called on to handle pedophile cases it should go to the police. But in the JW culture the are discouraged from bringing fellow members to court.
To me, children are MORE important than organization rules. For pedophilia, only lone victims can start a justice process.

Where do you find the DF machinery in other Churches like what JW's are practicing for decades? The 2 witness rule is very important to charge one for evil bad acts and for DF. The victims and their relatives decide going to make report by the police and to go to the court. Every JW = also a Citizen with all legal rights and duties, nobody rules over them. Elders should only give suggestions, if they are asked - this = WT rule. :-P
In other Churches you can be every thing, but you stay a member.

They quote the apostle Paul and say that bringing lawsuits against a fellow Christian is a defeat for the congregation, and that matters should be handled by the elders. Lawsuits are only to be brought against outsiders.
So very few JW's have the courage to go against the pressure to keep things inside.

Thousands of sexual molestors currently roam the Kingdom Halls and larger conventions of Jehovah's Witnesses. This is due to the "two witness" rule JW's adapted from a Bible verse which gets misused to stop sexual molestation/abuse victims from coming forward. No pedophile ever allows another person to witness his wrongdoing. So pedophiles know they can probably get away with their wrongs against JW kids.
Who would want their kids regularly exposed to adults with such perverted thoughts?

In Germany we had a law-suit of a man who was charged of rape and after a whole year he was judged innocent. The German law says, every one is not guilty unless he is spoken guilty and punished by law.

The WTS settled 16 child abuse cases out of court in 2007. The amounts are confidential. The best estimate is that they paid out $13 million. The JW molestors who made this necessary were Rick McLean who molested Witness kids for 20 years while the elders took no action, and James Henderson who molested JW kids for 30 years but still got multiple appointments to be ministerial servant & elder.

Ok - one is even to much - but what are 12 lawsuits of millions of JW's? Of course JW's have also black sheep, but they are dismantled and kicked out and the abused ones can charge them by police. This is what I recommend.

She is the one who informed Bill Bowen of the over 23000 figure, and that figure is also available at Bill Bowen's "silentlambs" website for JW or ex-JW sexual abuse victims.
The victims and lawsuits are documented at the watchtowerdocuments website. I shouldn't have to keep repeating that.
The JW culture is to NOT go to counselors or police, but to elders.

In Germany if the WBTS would handle such things in that way how you describe that, the WBTS would be no recognized Religion any more. They would be charged by law even. We have Human rights in Germany and a very good Bill of Rights so to speak. We are very careful not to overstep a single law.
