I doubt everyone will, but as we cannot know anything about religious claims for certain, a death bed conversion is very reasonable. You do not have to waste your life to one of the many claims, but you have a chance of getting into an afterlife if such a thing would exist.

As for your answer, yes, your holy book states how the first lifeforms have formed. But that is contradicted by the vast amounts of geological, biological, and chemical evidence of life's history that we have today.
When the holy book even gets simple things wrong such as whales not being fish, why should it be the authority for more complex stuff, on most of which it is also wrong?

I doubt everyone will, but as we cannot know anything about religious claims for certain, a death bed conversion is very reasonable. You do not have to waste your life to one of the many claims, but you have a chance of getting into an afterlife if such a thing would exist.

@soosa93 Science makes new discoveries all the time, just because it doesn't have every piece in the evolutionary puzzle today doesn't mean new discoveries aren't around the corner tomorrow. Science has a lot of "we don't know" but at least it is intellectually honest. Religion says it knows everything already and tells you how to live your life - on penalty of hellfire. What do the rocks say about us? What does DNA say about us? It points to evolution through natural selection. Overwhelmingly.

It isn't a bad thing that we evolved, it just is what it is. In order to be intellectually honest with ourselves we should seek the best evidence possible, and evolution gives us that answer. Better that than some made up tyrannical deity from the bronze age who demands absolute obedience or its hell.

Science has proven that we evolved by way of natural selection. You cannot prove anything to show there is a supernatural creator - asking better questions about your origins provides better (and verifiable) answers. Science works best in this aspect of our origins, holy books do not.
