If your minister is a young earth creationist, against abortion, believes in eternal hell, the trinity, speaks in tongues etc chances are you have the same beliefs. The gospels were repeatedly translated, copied by scribes who made mistakes, and they were heavily edited. They weren't even written by people called Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. These are just made up names, and the true writers were not unbiased opbservers

There is not one direct eyewitness account of Jesus doing miracles. The gospels and the secular accounts were written decades after, and as far away as Rome. As for opening your heart, that is what Mormons say. They believe their book, despite contradictory evidence because they have a burning in their busom, and so it feels right.

One objection to creationism is the male nipple.  It is a vestigial organ like the appendix and wisdom teeth. I've had christians argue that god put it there for sexual pleasure.
