After losing a car to a rotted frame, I've become really paranoid about rust. If I had a truck taken that far apart with the frame so accessible, I'd probably end up sanding and repainting the whole thing. I just couldn't bear to leave that alone.
I'm planning to try that "Por15" stuff someday, supposedly it's a miracle worker.
I was suprised to see just how rusty the frame really was. My '84 Sierra has a much cleaner frame and I don't know why. I find it equally odd that so many of these trucks also have outer body rot (especially above the wheel wells) and this one still does not. It been kept outside for the entirety of its life.

wow looks like you have some serious rust probems on your truck. Do you park it on pavement or grass.
MARNICTOB 1 year ago
@MARNICTOB Pavement or a stone drive almost all of the time. When this video was made, it had been sitting at the farm for a few months.
It's strange. Most of these trucks have visible body rust. Until about a year ago, this one had a rust-free outer body.

@MARNICTOB thats not serious rust dude its normal for a truck thats almost 20 years old they didnnt coat those frames that well back then
