MhicWombat: Remember that she never learned to read music. She plays by feel, ear and by her pure outright gifts…and usually in the key of 'C'. She has no sheet music to adhere to. Just the songs in her head which will be a little bit different every time she plays them. Brilliant songwriter and performer. Always a treat.

@TalkToTheBody I used 2 think he music was much better, but since I discovered Turkish music, most 'white' music sounds so incredibly stilted & mechanical. The constant pounding on the same notes, like machine guns - annoying. There is so little swig 2 it - relatively speaking = cold.

I think we see here Tori enjoying playing with a band. A musician can't just stand still. Playing alone is exhausting. She did a fine job. And also, I am sure she no longer feels like an " ugly girl" -she does the song because the fans want it.

you talk rubbish. I work as sound engineer for a long time and I KNOW what is horrible performance. This is actually great performance, modern sound, tight play and with lot energy in it. her voice is still her voice, beautiful and distinctive. 90% of todays performers cannot sing the correct pitch live, they fail, but not her, she has like perfect pitch.. and this is you tube, much of sonic quality gets lost.. she performs perfectly. i wonder if this gig will be available to purchase?

I'm a Tori fan, but this is a horrible performance. The music just drowns out her voice. And it was her voice and emotionality that stung my heart strings in the 90's. Not this. It's just a bunch of noise for me. She's lost her voice too.

I think its another abdication of the song, its great. She is creative, playing the same song a thousand times the same way would kill the energy in anyone. If you want the '92 amos then listen to her '92 cd's.

Strange you are saying this about this particular performance. I often think like you that "she manage to drain all of her personality out of her own music" lately, but here I have to admit that it isn't the case. Her music keeps alive and strong. In many other performances I think she's turning more into a kind of New-Age rather than metal. I guess I prefer the 1995-2000 Tori, she was sharing so much of her out of this world talent and beauty, as an author, compositor and performer. Sigh!

One thing that really fascinates me with Tori, after seeing her multiple times, is the way she will alter her own music, sometimes obviously arranged with the band, sometimes not. She never accepts that there is "only one way" to play a song.

That's the point of this album. If you want piano, you've got it all over Beekeeper, Scarlet's Walk, Little Earthquakes, Under the Pink, and Boys for Pele. This album is the explosion after the calm of The Beekeeper. It should be loud, in-your-face, and not so pretty, so it follows that her tours should be like that also.
