My hometown band. Gotta love nova scotia. hear them on the radio here still and see them live quite a bit. we know how good they are. just glad to see their music is still growing. they deserve it. Myles prevented my old man from from falling over at a party one time years ago....lol, good guy.
The original studio version is off "Electric Jewels", released in 1973. This has a shared singing/songwriting of Myles Goodwyn and Jim Clench. Clench did the original Weeping Widow vocals. I've heard them both do vocals when Jim wasn't in the band. I personally would go to e-bay and look there for the cd. I am sure you will see it. Good luck!
P.S.
There is an older "best of" called "OOWATANITE" that has it and some other good songs that you might want first, if you can find it.
Jim Clench left the band in January of 2007 to pursue other interests. He was replaced by Breen LeBoeuf, a talented Bassist and Singer, and a longtime friend of Jerry and Brian. Breen brings the experience of his many years as a member of the legendary Quebec rock band "Offenbach" with him. per their website.
Are you crazy. By far Canadas/Worlds most underated band is April Wine. As far as BTO AKA. Bass Too Often AKA. Bachman Turner Over Weight. Great Band but AW plays Heavy but also can give you a Waltz song. Awesome
I can't agree with you more. They can do it all. They can do something melodic, powerful and do the best ballads. Listen to Myles "power ballads" from Attitude! Great band and grossly underrated!
Got stuck in a four hour line up for the fary, to go to a music festival- April Wine was parked in front of me, I partyed and drank whiskey with them- it was pretty wicked. Saw them in concert the next day, my mom and sisters ended up drinking with them in the beer gardens, and they invited us to a hotel party afterwards... good times, great oldies haha:))
It's kind of good that clench left because all Myles and Clench did was argue. Why do you think he left in 1975 and came back in 1993. Plus there last concert myles said it himself that Breen was the best bass player hes heard
His name is "Breen LeBoeuf" (not lepoof), and from what I hear, he's extremely talented... as both a bassist AND vocalist, and is being very well received by the fans.
He also happens to be April Wine's FOURTH bassist... not including the 'studio bassist' they hired to record an album back in 1986.
i unno i just loved clenches voice, espeacially on this song, there was another video of this song played live, and he was aboslutely amazing, but true, leboeuf seems to be quite excellent
RIP Jimmy Clench

Too bad Clench didn't make it with BTO, they are a way better band and more his style then the pop music of April Wine

this new vocalist screams too much, and his vocals r definetely not as strong as Clench. Clench was much better.

I was under the impression that Jim Clench left April Wine to pursue a career in real estate.
