  • Maybe she has a cold sore that is affecting her embouchure. Let us not forget the human element.

  • LOVE Martha Argerich!!!! Listen to her Rachmaninoff performances, she's truly amazing

  • She's playing from the score! Janacek states in the score that the pianist is to play from memory.

  • I see no indication in the score that the pianist is to play from memory - perhaps there are more editions available?

  • I don't have my copy available. As I recall, it's Hudebni Matice. i don't read Czech, but the German translation of the instruction states the the solo part is "auswendig zu spielen".

  • After doing a little research, I've found the marking you mentioned in the old Supraphon edition. The newest (2001) critical edition ("Editio Janacek"), however, does not have this marking.

  • how the heck this horn player rocks this much with that unusual embouchure is amazing!!!

  • I didn't see anything wrong with her embouchure, the lips may have been a bit more out, but that is variable from person to person.

  • I didn't say that there was anything 'wrong' with her embouchure. I said it was 'unusual.' The fact that her embouchure is almost entirely to the right side of her face and nowhere near center makes it unusual-- especially for such a successful embouchure.

  • Nice to see Janacek's Concertino performed. Lugano, CH is one of my favorite places to visit! Thanks for the upload kimolerik.
