I recently had the opportunity to do a workshop with Kunde, and despite the incessant whining that always fills the comment section of opera videos, I have spent my entire life around musicians, and I have rarely encountered anyone more down-to-earth and charismatic, or who better deserved the title Maestro! A true artist to the core, with incredible sensitivity to every piece of music he studies.

Come potete elogiare un Tenore del genere ? Fiati spezzati, voce piccola idonea solo per un ottimo Nemorino ,donizzetti e mozart. .Adesso si spinge in repertori dove si richiede "LA VOCE" come aida, Norma e Vespri Siciliani. Se rimanasse nel suo repertorio farebbe solo bella figura. Ma se per voi è brava questa insignificante figura vocale, priva di spessore canoro e carattere ditemi allora chi sono "Fisichella, Filippeschi e Corelli ... dei miseri coglioni ?
Everyone is a damn critic! He sings the absolute shit out of this. Few tenors in the world can touch this role and Kunde sounds great. Listen to the Act 1 duet. 4 more high C's in that one too!

I'd expect more passion in such tremendous passage. Why are not the patriots running or Arnold not gesticulating more. It looks to me too static. About the high C's - Rossini did not intend full voice

SINGERS ARE NOT C MACHINEN are people like you and me, Mr Kunde ist a great singer and he sing all the dificults rolles writted for TENOR VOICE.He did a GREAT JOB and is a great singer WITH C or NOT C in this aria.
@SandovalH Well, for a tenor who would sing High F's above High C, I was expecting him to do his usual thing. It's not a matter of whether he's a High C machine or not, but rather, Kunde created a hard act for his own self to follow. What do you think of a soprano who sings the Mad Scene from Lucia without the High E-flat at the end? Like Ricciarelli. Do you feel like something is missing?

Così si canta quest'aria. Con una voce bella, una pronuncia giusta e una vera tecnica. Bravo! Juan Diego Florez deve anche cambiare il testo per cantare il do. Kunde è bravo!
@fdmoperanews Scusi, ma non c'e' bisogna di paragonare. Questo signore canta in una maniera piacevole, e giusta. Se la voce piace o no, rimane sempre una questione suggetiva. Anche io sono ammiratore del canto "italiano" Gigli, Pavarotti, Giacomini, Bonisolli, Corelli, ecc. eppure trovo questo Kunde veramente bravo.
I don't know what any of you guys said, but I agree. If I translate it right, one of you said he's celebrating his 20 anniversary somewhere, and one of the others said he's more than Giordani or Florez in this. I don't know his voice well, but it's beautiful and he's quite handsome. Rossini's French operas are soooo gorgeous. I think I might have to see Le Compte Ory at the Met next season.
Etant donné qu'il est maintenant dans les habitudes de faire chanter Arnold par des petites voix, lui s'en sort pas mal du tout. En tous les cas beaucoup plus crédible que Giordani ou Florez . Ceci dit, on attend autre chose dans ce rôle .
Il y a quelques années , on lui aurait sans doutedemandé de chanter Ruodi, mais en aucun cas Arnold
J'ai entendu cette été Kunde en Zelmira et, les années passées en Ermione et Otello (Rossini).Il n'a pas maintenant une petite voix (ça va sans dire,bien plus que Florez),mais je me rappelle ce Tell: je l'entendais fort bien dans le Palafestival (un Palais du sport!).Il ne s'agite pas du Tell héroique qui regarde à Verdi,c'est plus rossinien.D'allieurs,je pense il n'est pas possible pour une voix dramatique chanter tout ce que Rossini à écrit pour Arnold.
c'est excellent et son français est impeccable! ! Je vais aller voir Fisichella
