  • My favorite bangels song above Eternal Flame for sure,by the way, whats the name of the one is not the leader vocal, the one on her rigth ? Goooooorgeous :)

  • Great cover!

  • I think Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel would be quite proud of this remake. This is a great recording truly highlighting the talent of The Bangles.

  • a perfect song from a perfect movie.

  • "I'm 38 and I'm sick of reading comments putting down teenagers just for expressing enjoyment of older music." Give them a break. They love a song and want to share how great they think it is. I'd rather read that than the now cliched parodies that pick on kids./ I bought this single when I was 15 and had no idea it was a Simon&Garfunkel cover for years. I'm sure there are many songs I still don't know are actually covers. It's not worth getting snooty about unless the original gets slated.

  • @hennaG2 I suspect it was much less a commentary on youth enjoying older music, as it is the general impression those posts give of not being legit, i.e. not really posted by youngsters. A feeling I admit I share, I just don't care enough to complain about. They almost feel like the FBI trolling for perverts...

  • @hennaG2 good for you

  • Damn they were awesome the 80s had so much good shit. Her voice reminds me of Stevie Nicks.

  • PLAY THAT SHIT WHITE GIRL!!!

  • I love this song. The movie Less Than Zero was awesome!

  • I'd take this over any of the morbid kids, putting on eyeliner and screaming down the microphone about how they hate life anyday.. Hail the 80s!! When music was FUN and actually mattered!

  • They were smokin' Hot... glad i was still young in the 80s so i could enjoy this music

  • Chick bands tend to have some of the best rhythm sections.

  • Great cover of a Simon & Garfunkel tune BUT the girls made it ROCK!!! I love Susanna!

  • God I love the sound of all of the band members singing together. They have such a great sound. Plus Vicki Peterson is great (and hot) on the lead guitar. Best girl band ever!!!

  • Vicki rocks!!

  • Great rendition great Susanna....Jewish dark brown burning eyes; who would not fall for them???

Addition to her special studied erotic body langauge

    Beautiful girl

  • I'm a big simon and garfunkel fan. Not really a big bangles fan. However, the girls kinda kick the boys but on this song.

  • Since it is called the movie of this video of The Bangles - Hazy Shade Of Winter I want to know ssi alguen it knows x favor answer thank you very much bye

  • " I'm 5 years old, and i loved that old band " bored from those comments :D

  • I am a huge bangles fan, so I prefer than version over the original.

  • shiiiiiiiiit this is amazeballs

  • unfortunately, we don't get to see bands like these anymore, we get shit like justin beaver shoved in our faces instead.

  • @afterburmer well said.

  • Excellent band and song. The Paisley Underground had much to offer.

  • absolutley wonderfull!

  • I barely remember this old tune in my childhood

  • EPIC HOT, with great music too boot!

  • _____Try this. Listen to this song, okay? Then listen to ANY OTHER all-chick band from after the year 1990. Compared to the Bangles, what the Hell are they? Where the Hell are they? Truth is, most chick bands these days can't carry a melody or a note in a titanium bucket. Chick bands these days are all about looking good instead of SOUNDING good too... Hmm, WHERE ARE the chick bands these days? HELL-O!

  • @Egglesplork What happened to chick bands? Women of the rock scene evolved.

The Wilson Sisters (Heart) were among the first to prove that women can rock just as hard as a man w/o losing their femininity. The Gogos, Bangles and such proved they didn't need men. Once the point was made that they were REAL LEGITIMATE artist. They were incorporated in bands mainly for talent. Currently, It is all about the packaging. Reference Jon Lajoie Pop Song on Youtube.

  • @tordrgn

_____Perhaps I should widen up my statements regarding bands. It's not just women bands that have tanked. It's most all music groups that have tanked since the 1990s--the bringing about of Britney Spears, the Jonas Brothers (or Jonas Sisters, rather) and other artificial Disney-Pop bands. I agree with your point; it IS all about packaging nowadays. I'll listen to Low, Ladytron, HIM, and a few others. To Hell with the mainstream music industry.

  • Fokking tight musicians! These gals wern't given enough credit for as good a songwriters and preformers as they truly were. As time goes by I appreciate their music even more.

  • needs more cowbell

  • they're all soooooooooooooo hott!!

  • mmmmmm:)

  • is there any chamce of getting this performance on a dvd shipped to australia

  • Ha! funny that I can read your French the same way I can read misspelled English!

  • Right! Simon & Garfunkel did write this song,. One verse is removed..."drinking my vodka & lime... Great cover with good action! Love the Bangles!

  • ok really people paul simon wrote this in the 60s and this just a cover that everybody thinks is an origial.

  • Paul Simon wrote this tune you bunch of lack-wits.

  • @sawmonkey I was listening to Simon & Garfunkel in the 60s. When the Bangles made that cover in the 80s, it was the damn best cover I've heard of it. A cover almost as original than the original with a new influx of stamina. Believe and old freak those girls were stunning and they were not custom made by a studio executive. The true rock band stuff.

  • prince wrote there music under an alias or at least this song

  • this song is like...........totally 80s lol which = bitchen

  • devo ammettere che la brunetta al centro l'ho amata....

  • opening guitar rift= epic

  • Heres to those of us who lived through graduating in 1982 and wen't down to hell with our coke addiction and some of us actually lived through it and are getting our lives back now. Some of us did survive, but the scars go deep.Won't ever forget them.

  • There was a girl in high school that I loved to look at so much only because she looked like Susanna Hoffs.

  • How can you not love that guitar Riff??

  • Comment removed

  • A perfect cover.

  • ummmm i must have gone blind....wheres the lyrics :O

  • @sweettartangirl No, you're suppose to her the lyrics, and see the babes. But if you really wanted the lyrics, click on the down arrow box just to the left of the views count.

  • Sweet summer lost again even as you read this again.

  • The Bangles...if you're anything like me, you're thanking COSMIC MOM

for giving you a Big Brother!

See you busy boys in the ethers...don't afraid...just a hazy shade of winter...

    they look fabulous!!!! *the girls*

    ~-Outward Change Begins Within-~

  • @EnemyCombatant74 This is a really weird comment, hence I'm giving you a thumbs up.

  • Gosh! They definitely rocked and still do.

I wish I could see them live in Spain.

  • always liked the Bangles especially Michael i think these girls are the female equverlant of the Rock Band KISS, thats another brilliant group. might go and see them in March next yr at manchester. nice one here from the Bangles.x

  • thnx kingofpepsi i always wanted to know the correct lyrics. i can see why the whole band was jealous of susan, she is a hot babe w/those sexy bedroom eyes

  • i can't decide whether i like this version or the simon & garfunkel version better...

  • Take a closer look then!

  • wow wow wow what a great song

  • thelo na gleipso tin melaxrini.....tha tin mouliaso sou leo....

  • extreeeeeemeee...

  • So I guess it ain't just studio hocus pocus with these girls after all. Bravo!

  • This is from one of the best movies of all times, Less Than Zero!

  • MORE COWBELL!

  • Also, it always sounded like they were singing , "LOOK AROUND, HE"S A BROWN", instead of "LEAVES"!!

I used to think, "He's a brown? I wonder what Simon and Garfunkle mean by that?! Now, I get it!!

  • I've always loved The Bangles!!

Back when "Less Than Zero" came out, I bought the soundtrack, and was jamming to this song in the car with a friend.

I would sing, "CARRY A CUP IN YOUR HAND..."

And he said that I was wrong with the lyrics, and asked why I sang, "CUP". I said because in the song it's freezing, and they're carrying a cup of co-co or coffee!!

He said, no, no, you fool!! It's "CARRY A GUN IN YOUR HAND!! NOT CUP!!'.

I felt embarrassed....turned out that I was correct all along!!!

  • they say carry a gun in studio recording

  • van, Nope, if you listen closely, you can hear the "up" sound in "cup" in live and studio versions. Anyhow, I don't need you confusing me any further! !

  • van, I'm sure there are a lot of songs posted with the incorrect lyrics. On this video, click on the (more info) box to the top right. There are the full lyrics.

Read macchlerie's comment, not only is "cup" the real lyric, it makes sense. Simon and Garfunkle weren't into guns! !

  • you were right they do say cup i thought i might have been a war protest song by s&g

  • van, The reason that I thought my friend was right about "gun" was because of the movie. I figured the drug addicted character (Robert Downey,Jr) had to carry a gun to ward off anyone trying to steal his drugs. It turns out, it was just the Bangles doing a classic cover.

War protest song? That's interesting, "gun" would make perfect sense, too! Now I see where you were coming from.

  • The cup was to panhandle.

  • mac, Thank you, that would make sense.

  • This my song to my Jazz dance it is so Roxin

  • my lighter is flaming for more.

  • Dig that COWBELL.

  • Gah, I'm addicted

  • This takes me back to the movie "Less than Zero" with Robert Downey Jr. as that rich junky drug attic. Am I by myself on that? LOL.

  • he played the best junkie!

  • Now that's music!

  • fck these chicks can rock out!!!! :)

  • i'm a huge simon and garfunkel admirer, and although i never cared for the bangles, i was so impressed with their version of this when it first came out that i still like this one now even more than the original.

  • Love this band & Susanna! What happened to girls and music like this? Very good cover of this Simon & Garfunkel tune. It Rocks!

  • I remember when I was like 11, thinking this was the coolest song I'd ever heard. My sister had it on a mix tape with all her other 'cool' music (like OMD, New Order, The Smiths, etc)

  • omgggg suzanna is so hot!!

  • i got this on a vhs somewhere...

  • lol my older sister song but yeah that SNL was right good they played it good

  • Female Bands are so sexy to me..especially this group..I love em'

  • I watched the movie "Less than zero" just because of this song

  • @stereofidelic09

i did too. i vaguely remember sucking james spader's cock on cocaine in the 80's and i didn't remember it being so unpleasant. :D

  • @stereofidelic09 I read the frigging book just so I wouldn't have to watch the movie.....

  • @stereofidelic09 Was it any good? I'm tempted now too! lol

  • @martyfriedman666 The movie was OK. If you're a Jamie Gertz fan however the movie is great. :)

  • I'm 14 and I bought an 80's Christmas CD the other day and this song was on it. I love it so much! The music from the 80's is soooo amazing!

  • @xxTeamxxJacobxx ...Actually this song is from the late sixties and was recorded by Simon and Garfunkel.

  • @xxTeamxxJacobxx Sweetie- there's much more from where that came from! Big kiss from an internet Sister!!

  • @xxTeamxxJacobxx Actually, that song is originally from the 60's. :)

  • @xxTeamxxJacobxx apart from the fact that this is from the 60's

  • @xxTeamxxJacobxx thats sounds about right, because i remember it was winter time of 87 or 88 when this came out

  • @xxTeamxxJacobxx Dear lord I feel old...lol

  • So retro.

  • Love it! I remember when this aired on TV, and I was watching it!
