  • Im getting two chinchillas today !!!! :D

  • why dont u get brothers then insted of two differnt males

  • Really? The only warnings I can give people as to putting two chinchillas together is fighting bonding breeding. MalexFemale... you're probably going to get babies depending on age. Babies are difficult to take care of. Bonding is when chinchillas get attached and you're not supposed to seperate them (this is very difficult when one of them dies). Fighting is almost never dangerous to the chinchillas, just each other trying to assert dominance... in 1-5 months, they'll become buddies.

  • like :)

  • I HATE watching this ladies videos, she is so negative and always tell us the worst thing that could happen.. making chinchilla owners paranoid. Chinchillas are amazing pets, any animal can fight with each other out of the blue. And I'm not sure why she always bad mouths breeding. Breeding is so much fun and the babies are great!

  • 1st!.. In Reactions That Is...

  • I want a chinchilla so bad. Also, how could you dislike this video? Its an instructional video, its not ordering you, or judging you for doing something wrong.

  • hay can you just have one chinchilla

  • @LuckiRat dont listen 2 him 1 is good if u can give it enough attention evry week say abou 1hr evry day hop it helped

  • Not true. Doesn't matter what variation you choose of pairs. Male female, female female. Either way they can start fights out of the blue. Chinchilla's that have lived alone for a couple years can be paired with others as well. There just has to be a pretty long period of time or introduction.

  • water wouldn't help and neither would sand but the little hair left was hard and I think he ripped it out. will it grow back or is there another reason why he ripped it out ?

  • I have a pair of male and male chinchillas. One is four years old and one is two. They are the best of friends and are constantly snuggling. They play fight sometimes and rarely it gets a little rough but never any blood or crying just squeaks when they bite too hard. Recently I noticed the 4 year old has a small chunk of hair ripped out, completely bald. Well first there was a small clump of hair that has some hard substance on it. It kinda resembled....well...anyways I had to cut it off.

  • @LemmyPants1 awww poor baby 4 year old :(

  • hi can someoen please reply: is it okay to have 2 females go into a cage at the same time if you bought them from the pet store at the same time and they were in the same cage in the pet store?

  • @xSingingCrazyx ya that should be fine, as long as they have lived together before they should be fine now.

  • @xSingingCrazyx

2 females can be raised together if they already are introduced already so you should be fine : )

  • im buying a chinchilla this weekend how do i get it do i just go into the store and ask for a chinchilla and a ccgae and foodand dust

  • @GforGilmore hi i'm not a chinchilla expert but i'm getting osme after xmas. i'd recommend you get the cage and food and dust and all there other supplies first and have it all set up bofore you buy a Chinchilla. I would also recommend youget 2 chinchillas because sometimes solitary chinchillas can die early form loneliness.

  • this happen with my two hamsters about three years ago and they actually squeeked at night and started to fight until mine died

  • I have two chinchillas Sam and Kirby both males and Kirby is three and Sam will be three in November they have been together for over a year and I have had no problems

  • @RIP79141 You shouldn't do that the females will fight over the male

  • could I buy a male chinchilla for my 2 female? or there will fight?

  • Shes Hot!

  • Oh MY...I am literally picking up 3 male brothers 2morrow...they are a little over 2 mos old. and have been together since birh..I hope this is not a sign of things to come!!

  • *birth

  • They really shouldn't have any problems if they've been together since birth. They are each others' comfort and wouldn't do this. If you got 2 male chinchillas that have NOT been together since birth, then this could happen.

BUT since its been 3 months, i'm sure you know that by now! haha.

  • can you put two male chinchillas with one female chinchilla in the same cage

  • No, Its very dangerous to put a male with a female if you don't know what you are doing.

PM me if you have any more questions

  • Never! One or more of your chinchillas will be killed.

  • Nope. The two males will fight over the one female. If you want to males, then put them in the same cage. Or, if you want another female, put one male and one female together. If you were to put all of them together, one male would probably die from the other one attacking him. Because if one of the males had a baby with the female, they get extremly aggresive with others around him. Ask me for more info.

  • @xXKingOFsniperXx

    Its dangerous because number 1

They will breed with the female

and number 2 the males will fight hard for the female

  • males get along fine together as long as they're both together from a young age. Chinchilla's PREFER to have another in the cage they don't like being alone.

  • i have 2 male chinchillas that are brothers... they are fine and have been with each other since the day they were born.

  • Yeah, i have two brothers and they are fine.

  • i have two, i bought them together. But the other day i came home and they were all bloody and stuff. they are useually ok though.???

  • There is a possibility that any same sex pair will turn on each other when they are older, but I have a pair of each and they have lived happily together for most of their lives. There are different methods of introducing chins, I would recommend researching up on the different methods. Remember, that quarantine is CRUCIAL. Chins need to be apart from new ones as the new ones need to get used to the new bacteria in the environment and may have a hidden illness comes near the end of quarantine.

  • please do NOT listen to the advice given on male - male pairs, they live togeather just as well as females. With a split cage introduction things can go just as well as with a female pair.
