2010 Nemesis is drinking REALLY good right now. 2009 Nemesis was/is one of my all-time favorite beers. Fresh, the 2009 is better, but having tried each one at about 6 months age, I think I like the 2010 better (fresh 2009 is still the best overall, for me, but NO knocking in either of them).
@ChadzBeerReviews I think that beer is actually considered an Old Ale which was actually the precursor to the barley wine. In this day and age it doesnt matter much but Im pretty sure the JW is brewed based on a 300 year old Old Ale recipe. For what its worth
They really out-did themselves this year. I'm glad my grocery store got two cases and I got first dibs on 'em! I'm planning on aging 2 bottles for 6months and two for 1year.
Good review! I have really started to dig Founders beers lately. Would love to try this one, sounds so good!! My beer store recently got a shipment of some different Founders beers, picked up all of them. It was their Dry Hopped Pale Ale, Red's Rye P.A. and the Dirty Bastard. Looking forward to be reviewing them! Cheers! Btw noticed the Lost Abbey Serpents Stout on the table, ive also got that one for reviewing :-P
@TheMasterOfHoppets Founders does some amazing beers, their Pale ale is a fantastic dry hopped beer. And the Lost Abbey Serpents stout is one of my favorite beers of all time
Sounds somewhat similar to hair of dog's adam . I had a stone's 2010 old guardian yesterday, and it is showing very well. I noticed you have a bottle of older viscosity, are you planning on reviewing that one anytime soon? It's great stuff!!
@25openmind It was actually really really close to Adam, I didnt realize it at the time but your 100% correct! And the older viscosity is coming in probably 2 weeks. But def before episode 100
Our local beer shop got five cases of the Nemesis 09 last year, but only one case of the '10 this year. Single bottle allocations! I got mine, thankfully, so I was able to try this beast.
The 2010 is shockingly drinkable and never in a million years would I believe that it's 100 IBUs and 12% ABV. They've got to be fooling us on that. Another masterful release by Founders, for sure.
@suboctaves I agree 100% this beer shouldnt be as drinkable as it is. And I think production is either down or the demand is way up. Probably a bit of both.

you should try a vintage J.W. Lee's Harvest Ale. It's a whole new world of barley wines

@James2179109 Thanks man. Yeah Founders is still a fairly limited distributed beer. Although it see,s to be going wider all the time.
