In a country that sent men to the moon almost 40 years ago, to think that more than 50 Million people voted for Bush - the second time, is an indication of America's great intellectual divide.
Just know that with Bush giving the Fed(a Private Bank) more power you the tax payers will pay for the biggest landgrab, largest Mononpoly Global Game being played. FED, yeah and they have had this power for over 100yrs and we just sit back and let the Elite play us all like puppets. And with the Gov, the fix is in. FASCISM get used it it.
Yeah totally dickhead, go to the Netherlands you will learn about freedom. US is not the greatest in history, and Santa Claus is just your parents putting gifts they bought on their credit cards for you. Then they cry about the bill in February.
America is a superpower, no doubt about it... but the "greatest in history"? How "greater"??... with only a bit more of 230 years of history?? is that a joke? Even Iraq, (country that US has destroyed for strange interests) is a country with a history of more than 3000 years, that way more extense history than America. IGNORANT.
It's unequivocal the administration was misrepresenting the facts when there was such significant dissent against their views in the intelligence community and they were going on every talk show saying that debate about their claims didn't even exist. What about the Downing Street Memo?
When was the last time we got it right? In Vietnam? In Greece? In the Philippines? In East Timor? In Chile? In Iran? In Saudi Arabia? In Uzbekistan? In the Dominican Republic? Hell, we even used to give Saddam billions of dollars. The United States government is the single most destructive force in the world just like the biggest empires of the past were in their times.
Luckily,or not, depending on your point of view,I am old enough to remember and revere real journalists. You know...the ones who reported the "facts" every night on tv,who wrote about them in the newspapers because agree or not with those facts, political correctness be damned, they believed that the public had the right to know, and that they were obligated to tell us.
Do Donahue and Chomsky "never ever trust the state" or worry about the IRS kicking around middle class people when it comes to paying old folks' pensions or medical bills? Do they trust the state to educate poor urban youth? Would they trust the state to regulate and extract money from middle class people to pay for political campaigns? I think "never" is a word Donahue doesn't quite have a handle on.
Phil doesn't mean the State is always wrong,or always deceitful or always incompetent. He means what Chomsky meant: Take everything with a grain of salt. Never just take the State's word for anything;find out for yourself. Never assume you are being told the truth;make them prove it.
Considering the current state of this country, and the criminal acts of this administration,I consider those words to live by.
I think it's hilarious that Phil Donahue would lecture us on lowest common denominator television. Donahue is the father of Maury Povich and Montel Williams (maybe the uncle or grandfather of Jerry Springer).
If the Real News can get anywhere EVEN CLOSE to integrity, it will be light years better than the corporate propaganda that we get on a daily basis by Time-Warner, Fox, NY Times Corp., Clear Channel, on and on ad nauseum.
My only concern is not enough people will turn off the propaganda to see anything REAL...SOO....forward this You Tube link and website to a few hundred of your friends, (and a few of your enemies).
Phil Donahue! Good bless him and Marlo forever. He has done more for Our Democracy than practically every person alive today, which is why MSNBC muzzled him when this insane war/occupation was beginning.
DOES ANYONE OUT THERE have the capability of beginning some kind of movement to BRING PHIL BACK TO OUR AIRWAVES--preferably T.V. (only because "if it's not on t.v., it's not real" in today's world) and simulcast to AIR AMERICA RADIO!!!!
He's currently off tv... Gore Vidal nowhere to be found...Remember Venturas show on same station? All gone!!! But we have Blitzer,O'reilly, Hannity, Couric... Man, tv trully does suck. THANK YOU INTERNET..for now.
WE need you Phil and thank you Real News

The State is an impersonal entity formed by good and evil people. ¿How can you tell who is on charge?
You trust people whom you know personally, and even then you can get fooled by sly people...

This administration has caused the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people on the basis of false pretenses. If that isn't criminal, what is?
