If you're in a hurry and have a gas stove, you can heat up the tortillas directly on the burner.
Over medium-low heat, put the tortilla on the metal thing you'd normally set your pots/pans on and leave it until it's very slightly charred, then flip and do the other side the same way. It's about as quick as the microwave and tastes much better. I use this technique all the time with both flour and corn tortillas.
@WAWAWAWAWWAWAWAWAWAW it's better if u heat the tortilla in a skillet (i'm mexican so i know about that stuff lol) flour tortillas tend to get umm, let's say "not nice" when u eat them on the microwave.. but in the skillet they stay nice and warm and soft.. it does make a difference ;) *but if you're on a hurry, meh, microwave works fine xD*
@TKOG1220 Quite a few anyway. A few classics I follow the rules but I do experiment a bit with most recipes (always have). Some are from my great-grandma's vault that was handed down too. This one is a spin on those typical chicken wraps or fajitas. I like them really spicy and we decided how spicy to make it one night (keeping the flavour too). After a few, we agreed (with much beer) that this recipe works really well. I make them regularly! cheers, KTC
The microwave is efficient no doubt and does work fine. Traditionally they are heated up in a pan/ skillet. The microwave can be more wet/ soft. While the pan will be more dry. I find once verthing is in there it doesn't matter much for a sandwich wrap recipe. Give both a try. Whatever works best for you and tummy.
I remeber the first time I made pasta sauce.. this guys pasta sauce. it was to my girlfriend, and it got me laid for one night.. she was all like "Awh it tasted so good, how did you learn to make it!" all because of Kooktocook!
No you do not season it everytime. In a way the cooking itself each time seasons it. The very first time you get one, you will clean it really well. Place it in the oven at 400F for about an hour. Remove it and carefully (extremely hot) pour oil into it (canola is good). Rub it in with a paper towel or two (inside and outside the pan). Let it cool a bit and repeat process (2 - 3x). Let cool completely, rinse (never use soap) and begin cooking. Repeat every few months. cheers! KtC
Yes, nice tip. I don't care for the chicken strip wraps, but here, all the flavours are blended and the sandwich is juicy and 'hot'. I make it with beef too but cut the meat after cooking. Thanks again. cheers! KtC
Looks good. great videos.

will it be good if i used beef instead of chicken?
shipoopi228 8 months ago
@shipoopi228 The seasoning combos would not go well with beef. Perhaps pork, I haven't tried. KtC

shouldn't you put the cheese over top of the hot part so it melts?

Certainly, if you prefer. I enjoy it not too melted I suppose. Thanks for the tip! cheers! KtC

hi...i am just wondering if you seasoned your cast iron skillet before using, can i just use it right away without season it again?

i see you use this "garlic dressing" allot.
i have never seen it at market, what is this stuff?
ned262626 2 years ago
Garlic 'Salad' Dressing. The creamy stuff available at markets in the salad condiment area. It can be made easy enough too. Perhaps a video.
good luck and thanks. cheers! KtC

I like the heat but it has to have flavour. The blend here is well balanced. Damn hot but tasty. Yes, beer is a requirement. cheers!

film yourself eating it afterwards! thats what all the fancy cooking shows do, and its odly more satisfying than just seeing it made.
