  • I want this video on my GM200 Brio phone.

  • This video is a favorite on Honduras

  • Very nice!

  • Dude, this stuff is serious!

  • hmm. that's real fast, but what if a herd of cattle were crossing the track?

  • nice speed

  • 1:58 its fantastic

  • geil

  • AWESOME Video!

Everytime I see that wide shot of the TGV (such as at 0:25) I ALWAYS think how cool it would be to have one of those in HO/OO Scale!

O__o I wonder if any model train manufactures gave it any thought to make such a model? I would buy one if I could! ^__^

Kudos the the French! The TGV does it, again!

  • fuckshit!! this is extemely fast!! planes could fly at this speed. and my pants would turn into brown i think. can you imagine that one time you can take a tour by train approx. in 1 hour 20 minutes to london from paris (vica versa)

  • don t be stupid!it will take a lot of time to build hight speed rail in all France country side just look in uk and you will be less stupid!

  • Don't compare Maglevs or more advanced serial-trains (like the german Velaro and Transrapid) with a pushed up experimental train on pushed up voltage at pushed up tracks. Not everybody wants to spend 30 Mio Euro for 10 Minutes fun and afterwards throw away the whole train because of it's enormous wastage.

  • there is not a lot of modification don t be jealous

conventional tv run at 408.4 in 1988 that s why we can do better than you since more time!

  • TGV is the fastest and safest train on rails in the world, stop being jalous and know that is not the TGV TECH but the futur AGV TECH of 2008 that you are seeing who will travel all the time at 360KM/h. That's why he is modified.

So learn more about it before post stupidities like i see on many comments.

And it's not the siemens tech train that crashed and kill many peoples? Never, in 26 years of explotation the tgv kill peoples.

  • No, they, maglevs, go about 40mph (74kmh) slower

  • do those floating ones go quicker?

  • Take a look at the sparks (around 1:37), it doesn't look very safe

  • Wow, Awesome; a NEED-4-SPEED HST.

The TAV in Italy is over !

  • PORCA PUTTANA!!! ALTRO CHE GLI AV ITALIANI!!! o.O

  • il est gia'en Italie on rêve des tels records, w la France

  • TGV cannot carry tall people?

  • The British are smart for building trains and swers, but now the Japanese are the smart ones

  • french have the fastest train on wheels kool, japan is working on a mag lev, system at 500kph operational, china is working with germany, to build a 167k, maglev shanghai to hangzhou at 450kph operational, but the fastest operational train in the world, is shanghai transrapid , for years it has run from pudong airport to shanghai, everyday at 431kph, its fun ,fast, cheap, i have ridden it, i m sure it will be surpassed soon , it can be seen on you tube

  • Thats so damn fast~!!

  • Frenchies love their trains! Shame us English invented them.lol

  • yay our trains rock! even thought they will never go faster than 200 with real passengers on board...

  • What, the engineers and media on that train are fake? lol

No, TGV highspeed lines already run at 200 MPH, they are upgrading some to run at 220.

  • so what went wrong in the UK then??

  • That was insanely quick. The shot of it going under the bridge near the end gives the best persective of how fast it was going. Bravo le TGV!

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • TGV is still by far the fastest and safest train in the world.

  • i want to know how many kilometers it takes to stop after going that damn fast

  • about 10 kms

  • it was faked on a soundstage on mars

  • with roswell technology

  • ehehe, right... but, i think that tech it is not available to TGV engineers, unfortunely.

its amazing how the rails are so well aligned

and so smooth looking @ at it @ that speed from wheel video camera

  • the conductor said that he could of made it go faster if the wind was better, shit!

  • Correct term for the person driving the train is not "conductor" but "driver" (British English) or "engineer" (American English). The French word is "conducteur" (meaning "person who drives"); but "conductor" as the English-language equivalent is a "false friend" translation, which will cause confusion since "conductor" is already in use in American railroad lingo, meaning "supervisor of the cars of a train" (the equivalent of the British English "guard").

  • wholly molly

  • badass

  • what if the brakes go out though, damn

  • I want to ride one of these on skates from behind! FRICKEN BAD ASS SPEED!

  • "no emissions" - where do you think, they get the electricity ? from wind power stations ? zzzz

  • who the fuck cares about global warming

  • In commercial use, this train used slope down to product energy and provides power on electrical lane but in all case 0 emission is an utopia.

  • And what with that? Cars and planes produce a LOT MORE emissions than TGV´s. And this was an experimental run.

  • From nuclear power stations... BUT the emissions are VERY low in comparison with other transports...

  • So ride your bike and shut the hell up.

  • France kicks lots of asses with this. Much better than hybrid cars/biofuel blabbermouth. Clean transportation, incredible speeds, no emissions. Anybody try to come up with that now. Congratulations to anybody at Alstom and all people involved in the project.

  • Haha, the driver sitting in the middle with that fake smile, lol!

    Very cool train!

  • Impressionant... Et aucun accident en 25 ans. Excellent. Bravo a toute l'equipe Alstom.

  • This is just a taste of our future soon to arrive at the F@#$ing speed of light.

  • no maglev does 580km fool

  • That was in the test run not in commercial run.

  • Well, that was also a test.. The machine was completely built for this record (€30 Mls!) to prove the TGV still has a nice future on middle range destinations! The commercial version is not allowed to exceed 320 km/h and couldn't certainly go so fast

  • All variations of the maglev technology cause immense costs, which is why they cannot compete with

conventional railway system. Nor is the maglev system compatible with other train systems. Hence

none of the long-distance connections ever being projected has been realized.

  • The maglev technology has been built and tested several times. For

example, the maglev railway to Bimingham's airport was opened in 1984 but closed down in 1995 due

to high costs and lack of spare parts. Another regional maglev railway was built in Berlin in 1989 and

closed down a mere two years later. Therefore, further research into the maglev technology does not

seem to be indicated. Here too -- as shown above -- the extraordinarily high costs prevent any market

    success.

  • You failed to mention the Shanghai airport route and the German Maglev. What are those? Nonexistent?

  • yeah but he says " on rails" maglevs dont use rails

  • omidkia. Stop saying shit. The maglev does 500 km/h max. The TGV is the FASTEST in the world. We have kept the record since the 70s

  • viva o benfica

  • The Japanese Maglev only does 431 km/h.

  • The best video (but shortened) without the TV blah blah :)

Vive la France ! Vive le TGV !

  • Meanwhile, in America, we don't even fund Amtrak enough to bring the system up to a state of good repair, let alone give it enough money to actually run well.

Our annual federal subsidy to Amtrak is about that of three day's worth of funding the illegal war in Iraq.

  • Well said brother!

  • WOW!
