The AS3X on the micros is brilliant. My 3D Beast is way easier to fly outside than my Polecat.Looking forward to the UMX Spitfire an Mig 15 in April.I'd better start saving!
Cool Chuck!! And nice knife edge & GREAT save!!! You had me shaking!! I guess that AS3X is the real deal huh?! Might have to add this as well as the GeeBee R2 in the hangar?! And I did get the DX8 all set up with the Radian Pro! The telemetry is AMAZING!! I got the Altimeter & Flight Pack Voltage for the RP!! Thanks for all the help, have a good one and that's better filming than I could do that's for sure!!
Your skills have really improved over the course of your video reviews. I don't mind the camera work, it's hard to film these things, even the 'official' videos use snippets. The 120 batt doesn't work, the new higher kV motor worbles right away. The AS3X plane 3Ds best with the 200 mAh battery pushed back til you can't see it to get the planes inherently too far forward CG under control. But it's still a handful to fly well due to the even heavier weight. Nice job.
u state that u won try a 120 batt because eflite says to use a 180 then u go install the 210. whats up with the double standard? why dont u just state that u think it might be too tail heavy with the 120?
Agreed!! It's so helpful practicing on the Sim! I had my first hobby-grade RC plane flight just the other day, in 10mph winds, and the only way I was able to do it without crashing was from my practice on the Sim. :D
No it doesn't. And, you are only speculating that, as you obviously haven't flown a plane with the AS3X technology. Stop being an RC snob, and ignorant to boot. :/
@theimacman cmon man, thats not really nice....but to argue back, im gona point out that as3x is basically a gryo...it corrects things that in my opinion....maybe not yours....should be corrected by the pilot and not by a machine....wind is a natural part of flying...and if you have trouble flying with wind or maybe you hate the natural flight patterns of a certain plane then maybe its good for you. I didin't appreciate you calling me a snob.... :\
They're bloody hard to follow at the best of times these little UM's. Thanks for the vid chuck, looking forward to more on this interesting little "beast".
Chuck, I figured out a way to use GoPro's helmet mount with a regular digital camera. I used a snowboarding helmet I found on sale, but you can use a construction helmet in its place. You just need a hard surface to sticky the GoPro mount to. See my video on it by clicking on my name. Youtube won't let me add a url to these comments. My own wife gave me a hardtime, so I had to figure out a way to shoot my own videos. Lol.
lips. Thats the reason rc planes are made for LOL :-) I dont mind to own diff kinds of planes which "enhance" my personal "experiences" as many other pilots would be most pleased to do :-d The new 'Beast' says for itself that its still a "fluent" plane ;)~
Did you read the information supplied with this video, i stated it was not our best work but was all i could get together for now, because of the weather, so sorry to disappoint you, i look forward to watching your much better offering

What plane do you use in Phoenix Sim to practice flying the new UMX Beast?
s1n1str 1 month ago
Nice video but turn off auto focus next time.
Yes I was wondering about which battery to use. So the 200Mah will work pushed back then cool.
