  • i play alto saxophone and you dont need to line everything up. you actually play better while adusting the mouth piece closer to you :) !

  • thanks im in beginning band in middle school. just got my instrument the alto sax today. this wuz rlly helpful

  • thanks this helped

  • Experts my arse.

  • Ok- I just got my saxophone, and I know how to blow into it, but when I try and play a note, it comes out squeaky! When you blow- you put your bottom lip over your teeth, and you put your teeth over the top of the mouthpiece, and seal the gap. Please somebody help!!!!!

  • @hollistergurl871 I cover my top teeth with my lip also, not just the bottom. And, it might squeak if the ligature is to high or low, I forget which. you want the reed to be just below the tip of the mouthpiece, so if you look from behind, you can't see it. Then you want the ligature to be just below that curved line, so it looks sorta like a smiley face

  • this lady sucks. Ima be making a video on how to use the saxaphone PROPERLY

  • @doctarvampire PLEASE DO! im a beginner.... =)

  • @lzkjoel Ok, I will make it within the next few days, i will leave it in the video responses

  • this umm,this sucks

  • She didn't say anything about pushing the octave key

  • generally, generally, generally, generally, OMG SHADDUP!

  • She looks like she'll be teaching you how to bake pies.

  • that's like teaching someone how to solve a 4 piece puzzle. She might as well say: "have an IQ over 20 and you're good to go"

  • you sucks

  • this isssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss3iisssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooossssssstttttttuuuuuuuuuppppppppiiiiiiiidddddddddddddd

  • i just got a saxophone and assembled it but when i blow nothing happens can somone help me?

  • I noticed two things wrong with that vid

1 never hold your alto by the keys only by the bell

2 you have to push the thing on the neck so that it will go in

  • OH no!!!! I'm out before "Expert" village start.....

  • When are you going to decide to play it? o.o;

  • I find it ironic that the name of this channel is "ExpertVillage."

  • What you don't know is she took the saxophone body out of the case out incorrectly and you can damage it like that. The correct way to get it out of the case is to slide part of your hand in to the bell like holding a piece of paper and lift it up from there so you don't damage any of the keys, springs etc.

  • Treble Clef Notes: EFGABCDEF Bass clef notes: GABCDEFGA

  • @TheNTHate

I never understood why they decided to do that. All they had to do was add another line between the staffs.

  • shouldn't this be the first in the series?

  • generally u line it up with the uhhhh.... curve. generally..... generally

  • Great for a beginner like me - thanks!

  • any help? i cant make mine make noise when i play and its embarassing! :(

  • @MrCBsmiley Make sure your lower lip is curled over your teeth, and that there's enough mouthpiece in your mouth.

  • are you serious? how do they draw these bitches out this long? its not hard: put the mouthpiece on the neck, attach reed, put neck on the body. not that hard.

  • i got alto sax and this helps a lil xD big concert soon xDDDDD

  • wtf is wrong with you??? do you know how many innocent people lost their lives, how many children who will never get to meet their mother/ fathers, how many firefighters, police men etc died, how many people will have permanent lung damage b/c of the toxic fumes??you need some serious mental help

  • I got one today

  • I've had mine since I was *counts* 8 when I was taking classes in Middle school I haven't used it in like 11 years but its in mint concision how much did you pay for yours?

  • Great videos. I just got an alto saxophone 2 weeks ago and these videos helped me a lot. Now I know how to assemble, disassemble, maintain, play octaves use reeds and breath on an alto saxophone. Now I am learning some songs on it. Great job Leslie Burnick.

  • i dont know if thats true but i know that the notes are the same =]

  • way to handle a sax, carrying it from the keys instead of the bell bends the keys

  • i was going to say that too

  • you didnt wet ur reed. that is the 1st thing that i learned and i have been playing for 5 years

  • Expert village? Where do these fuckups come from?

  • she is hotttt! id tap dat!

  • Bwahahaha

  • i do it very difrent

  • agreed

  • thank you I really needed that I'm playing the alto sax for the first time

  • "you line up the hole with the way the curve goes"

    advanced jargon

  • shes dumb shes like you should leave half an inch to two quarters of an inch left. thats the same thing!! stupid.

  • excuse you, but i play the sax and it's awesome...

...and by the way... she said THREE quarters of an inch not two quarters... you're so stupid, if you really want to make fun of someone get your facts straight you freakin' retarded person... damn...

  • Agree. It was a bit harsh. My 32 older brothers agree with me!

  • bet she cant play for shit, she didnt even wet the reed haahah these people no nothin

  • you're right. they don't no anything.

  • well, she don't need to f she's just explaining how it's assembled. she'd only have to wet it if she was going to play it

  • she wets th reed in the video about putting on the reed

  • wtf are you talking about. you can wet the reed any time you like, or not wet it at all and just play to get a more airy tone if you like.

  • I always wet my reed and then put it on my mouthpiece and THEN put my mouthpiece on the neck and then my neck into the body of my saxaphone... it's easier... even if I still am really slow doing it.

  • Well the padding on the neck can really help during marching season. It makes this a million times better.

  • ohh yeah tell me about it...im very glad i got a gel one instead of just the strap.

  • I was supprised she knew what cork grease was. While your putting your instrument together, you should already have the reed in your mouth so you wont be wasting time.

You dont need to follow the "long ovtive key in the back: sometimes it a personal preference. its just a matter of personal preference.

  • ya ur right and why is she not talking with her reed in her mouth she is wasting her time and she will just have 2 take off the reed then wast her time wetting the reed again. LOL and i say the padding on the neck strap is for wosses. or people who dont froget to got to the band store before it closes.

  • pretty obvious this person isn't an "expert". Putting the reed on first? Bad idea. Having the mouthpiece straight? bad idea.

  • Good professional demonstration
