  • I've got to try that!!!

  • I just started making jewelry - thanks for the video you make it look so easy!

  • Very nice video, easy to follow, not rushed. Good visuals too! Thanks Eclectic!

  • Nice video. It's very helpful. I can't get over how some people complain about these videos. I appreciate it. I need all the help I can get, since I'm a newbie at this.

  • @InCityDreamss Thanks for leaving such a sweet comment! =)

  • @eclecticdesigns You're welcome.

  • lovely!

  • one suggestion is to only show one or two bead attachments. It gets kind of boring watching you string on 11 beads. otherwise, the video was great!

  • soooo pretty! good job! :)

  • I really likeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. I wanna try all of these one day!

  • very cool!! very good job with the instuctions!! luv the necklace, very simple and pretty!!

  • Hi I would like to thank you... I thought you did a great job... the entire pic. was in the range of your camera and I heard it all... I have my lap top set up to the older speakers in the living room, so the sound was fine... I would like to offer you a suggestion. There is a pen that is purple, (I got mine at Joannes) you could put little marks where the beads belong... it fades with in an hour or so... thanks again... good job.

  • great video

  • really easy to follow and clear instructions ,top vid ta!!!

  • Thanks for the video

  • LOVED your Video. Thanks a million.

  • where can you get all the equipment from?

  • @missmelanieism I purchase the majority of my supplies from firemountaingems (dot) com.

  • Whats a 'crimp bead'? And whats a good jewelry supplies webesite? Thanks! btw amazing vid!

  • This is an excellent video and I cannot wait to make my own. Thank you!

  • take a look at my handmade earrings at kellyannfashions.co.uk xxx

  • I really liked the video portion, but I couldn't hear the instructions. The sound was very faint and not audible.

  • @buddythedog145 I'm sorry about this. I used my camera mic for this video. My more recent videos I switched to a voice over style... hopefully those are more enjoyable for you.

  • Lovely vidoe. Can you discribe the wire that you use? gage, and specifics and other choices. What if you use nylon? Can gold or silver be used?

  • @melanieberry I put the description of all the materials I use in the description box. For this project, I used Accu-flex with a diameter of .019", 49 strands for extra flexibility. You can use any color you want.... I chose a pearly white color because I thought it looked pretty. :) I purchase my wire at firemountaingems (dot) com. I never used nylon cording for floating illusion necklaces, so I can't really say much about that.

  • Loved it! Very well done because now I have the confidence to try it! Thank-you:)

  • wheres the illusion

  • Thank you for this wonderful video. Your pace and accent was excellent. It was clear and neat for a beginner like me. Lot of positive energy in you. thank u.

  • Loved the video instructions. Plus this one had good sound, with others I could not hear what was said. Will be looking for the crimp covers. Do you ever use the crimp covers for crimps around the whole necklace? My crimps are kinda sharp so I'm always trying to hide them under beads with bigger holes.

  • @SharoninKentucky Thank you for your nice comment! I was going to do an updated tutorial on how to use crimp covers to cover the all the crimps when making a floating illusion necklace. It requires more work and it's more expensive, but if you want a high quality necklace, then I would definitely do it. :)

  • I like the speed with which she demonstartes and guides us verbally through the process of this necklace. I'm heading to my crafting room now as I am going to make one. I feel confident enough after viewing this video one time to do so! Thank you, Excellent Instructor!

  • This video is excellent! Thank you for clear video- nice slow directions. I feel confident now! :)

  • Very helpful seeing the crimp beads done close up. i can now make them look much neater i wasn't shown to squeeze a second time with them so will be doing that from now onwards

  • thank you for sharing. I'm new to jewelry making and didn't know about putting crimp covers over the crimp bead. Thank you.

  • That was great!! Thanks for going so slow!!

  • This was great! Thanks for going so slow!!

  • Thnaks for sharing this I had a great time. I enjoy making Jewelry.

  • Your tutorial was very easy to understand for someone new to jewelry-making as I am. I really love the illusion style and would love to see any variations that you might have using it. I have subscribed to your channel and hope to see many more tutorials from you. Thank you!

  • thanks for sharing your knowledge! I am excited to start a necklace now:)

  • Thank you for this video it is one of the best tutorials I have seen! I am starting to make these today and this has answered many questions I had. :)

  • Thank you so much for this tutorial! The necklace looks great and I am going to definitely make one now!!!

  • You are spoiling me, your reply was the FASTEST response yet, thank you!I cannot wait to see what you post next:-)

  • I have a tip I hope will help! I mark the placement with a Sharrpie marker and crimp. It makes it easier on my eyes. I actually also sting the entire necklace and then crimp each "unit". It looks so good your necklace:-)

  • @silkorganza Excellent tip! I might do an updated Floating Illusion Necklace and include your tip! Thank you!

  • Thank you for making this video! The necklace is so beautiful and elegant.

  • This is such a helpful video! I especially like how you didn't skip any steps. Thanks so much!

  • Thank you so much for your clear instructions, good voice pacing and close ups really helped too.

I've never done this style before, you've given me the confidence to give it ago. Where do i get the tools from....cutters and crimpers?

    Thank you muchly ;-)

  • @cheekyminx47 I purchased most of my tools from Fire Mountain Gems. I also have some tools from Jo-Ann. Hope this helps! :)

  • @eclecticdesigns Thank you for info. I will look forward to your updated video with new tips. Keep up with the wonderful creativity x

  • Thank you so much for the excellent detail and for sharing your expertise! You explained so clearly and provided great close-ups that I feel confident enough to now try this one myself!

  • This was a great video! I am just starting jewelry making and it was a very helpful instructional video! Thank you for sharing your skills!

    P.S. - your necklace is lovely. :)

  • I really liked this video, it was very informative and put together quite well. My only 2 suggestions is that 1- put a little more emotion into your voice and 2- try to have the camera focused on what you're doing. I love making floating necklaces and I think you did a wonderful job!

  • @SnSnSnB1 I don't know if you're crazy or not but you are without a doubt a rude, insensitive bully. You and people like you who contribute nothing but seem to go out of their way to hurt creative, thoughtful people are the worst of YouTube. Your profile lists your age as 19 but I know 8 year olds who behave and interact with more thought and sensitivity on the Internet. Here's a tip: Stop embarrassing your parents.

  • @eclecticdesigns

Please don't let this rude person get you down. I can't even imagine what kind of time he or she must have on their hands if they felt they JUST had to share what was an opinion that had nothing to do with content. This was one of the easier to understand tutoral on how to make this type of necklace I've come across.

  • @annecruzmaria Thank you for your comment. It's hard to ignore comments like these. It will take me some time to feel more confident in myself. Thanks again!

  • @eclecticdesigns your voice sounds so cute to be honest... especially when you say the "Crimp Bead"

  • @SnSnSnB1

Why in the world would you go out of your way to comment on this lady's voice? If you found it so annoying, stop the viewing and search for another tutorial on the same subject. How odd for someone to be so mean for no reason.

  • Thank you for awesome instruction!

  • Very good tutorial. Concise but clear and easy to follow. Thank you!

  • Great tutorial!

  • Wow! That was beautiful! Well done!

  • Hi! I have been doing ok.Thank you so much for responding back so fast. I recently place a order with firemountain so when it comes I will do as you suggest. Next time I place an order I will try and get the crimps you use in your video. Thanks again!

  • @gamerchickboss Your welcome! I'd love to see your finished piece! Hope everything works out for you. :)

  • Hi! How have you been doing? I was going to try to make a illusion necklace but I did not get the same crimp beads as you. The ones I brought are crimp silver-plated, 2x1.5mm round, 1.3mm inside diameter. Are these good enough to use when making necklaces or should I buy the ones that you use? What would you suggest? Please email me back when you have a chance.

  • @gamerchickboss Hi! I've been keeping myself quite busy. How has life been treating you? Your crimp bead size depends largely on the size of your beading wire. From what you told me, I would say they will do just fine. Just make certain to crimp them SECURELY with crimping pliers, so your beads will not move. If you want, you could conduct a test piece and see if your crimp beads will work. It's good to practice before committing to a large project! Let me know how it turns out!

  • Very helpful! Thanks for making this video!!

  • This is a well done video. Gets to the point and very instructional.

  • Thanks for explaining this so clearly. My first effort was a three strand tourmaline small nugget necklace on monofilament wire and I turned the air blue swearing all afternoon. If you're using monofilament use the teeny 1mm crimps specially for positional crimping or the things will shift and you'll end up swearing like I did! And of course try something less ambitious first!!

  • @LadyJoolree I am happy to hear that you gave jewelry making a try! It sounds like you had a rough start, but with practice, you'll be able to make this necklace within an hour. I'd love to see your necklace - it sounds lovely!

Great point! Using smaller sized crimp beads when using a smaller diameter wire or string will prevent the beads from moving.

  • Very helpful.. Excellent video I can't wait to get started

  • @jennielynne62 I am glad you found it helpful! I'd love to see your jewelry once you are finished! If you run into any problems, you can message me and I'll try and help as best as I can. :)

  • i don´t know y but it reminds me of the future. i think it´s because of the colours

  • @perixanfin Haha, interesting perspective. I never thought of this necklace as futuristic. :)

  • This video is fantastic! I feel like after it was over I was more educated on how to make such a beautiful necklace. I love how you give the sizes of everything that you are using and all of the materials that you will need. Again, awesome video! It was great to actually see what you were doing as opposed to someone filming themselves making it and not being able to tell what they are doing and how. Thanks again for posting this!

  • @beautifulwithtattoos Thank you very much for your nice comment! :D

  • step by step....good video.....i like the calmness too :)

  • step by step....good video.....i like the calmness too :)

  • @cottonblue1000 I am glad you enjoyed it! :D

  • now I need to go get wire and crimpong beads.. love it!

  • @tinarivera03 Sounds like a plan! ;)

  • This is one of the best videos. Step by step directions, exactly what i needed. You can actually make the necklace while watching the video. Love it!

  • Ok I was finally able to make a complete piece but the beads are not perfectly spaced.

  • Thanks!

  • I don't know if my crimps will look so attractive

  • @madcat61207 and I did have a bit of trouble witht he crimps but with practice I was able to pull togather a complete piece but the beads were not perfectly spaced. They were pretty close, but I guess I need to keep practicing.

  • @madcat61207 I did have some trouble with the crimps but with practice I was able to pull together a complete piece. The beads were not perfectly spaced but I guess I just need to keep practicing!

  • @madcat61207 With practice I know you will soon create the perfectly spaced necklace you are hoping for! I am so happy that you created this necklace. Send me a picture of it some time - I'd love to see it!

  • Great video, superb directions and good closeup views of the detail work! I give you an A+!

  • Love your simple yet graceful creation!

  • Very Nice and thank so much for Sharin! :)

  • exelent teacher thankyou for showing us how it's done very kind of you

  • Just wanted to say thank you for showing a simple design that is beautiful without to much fuss! and also want to wish you good luck with school..I know it can be rough.. I am in the same boat and wish that I could have more time to focus making more jewelry also.. god bless

  • :\ dosent look like its floating

  • @Tigerwolfie2655 It's an illusion - you can barely see the wire around your neck. I think it's very elegant looking that way. :)

  • @eclecticdesigns OOOOOOOOOOOOOO ok ^^

  • @Tigerwolfie2655 You could most likely use fishing line if you dislike the wire.

  • @BeyondBracelets I'd beware of fishing line. Do your research and use your best judgement. I prefer not to use it for various reasons.

  • @eclecticdesigns Well, if you're speaking of breakage then you just need a really good test. Test meaning weight- like what you'd use to fish for sharks.

If you're speaking of safety- wire can be just as bad.

  • @BeyondBracelets I don't like using fishing line because it isn't as good as quality as some other stringing material out there. I've used it, and I don't care for it. I would recommend that everyone should do their research and decide for themselves if it's an okay stringing material to use.

By the way, I like your Button Bracelet video! It's really cute. I've always wanted to play with buttons - my sister has a huge jar of them!

  • @eclecticdesigns Ah, well. It depends on what sort of quality you're making- a kid out there could easily pull off a fishing line one since it's easier (and cheap if your dad fishes haha) to get your hands on!

And thanks, the button bracelet was fun. =D

  • WOAH u r soo gracefull, and very easy to understand

  • nicely done, now i can try to make my floating necklace again. thank you

  • Good tutorisl I learned how to use those crimps correctly. thanks

  • you are a very good beading instructor. i like the way you break up the construction into sections.. thank you also for telling us WHAT SIZE CRIMP BEADS/COVERS to buy. please continue to provide more teaching videos. again thank you.

  • this is a fantastic video, from beginning to end!!!

  • that was great you make it look very easy

step by step instructions makes it easy to follow

    can't wait to try it

  • its not floatinhg!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @XXXDeadXXXDreamsXXX Hahaha! It's an illusion... the beads look like they are "floating" around the neck because the wire it barely visible. It's really pretty cool!

  • @eclecticdesigns oh ok i though it was a majic tric to make it float

  • @XXXDeadXXXDreamsXXX oh my!!!!

  • @susanbrown6349 ?????????

  • Very good tutorial! I didn't know about the crimp covers. I'm going to try this one.

    Doug

  • @zaarenoc Great! Let me know how it turns out!

  • beautiful video!

Love is not a matter of counting the years. It's to make the years count.

    Greetings from Antwerp!

  • Excellent video (and beautiful necklace)! Thanks for such a cohesive explanation and the close-up filming. Much appreciated and thoroughly enjoyed! :-)

  • @BeadingHobby Thank you so much for the feedback! :D

  • @eclecticdesigns your level of instruction and information is excellent. please give us more. you totally rock.. thank you

  • @susanbrown6349 Thank you so much! I am sorry that I haven't made a video in a while. I just have been concentrating on school work. Hopefully later this year I will be able to find some time!

  • Great video, good step by step instructions. Thanks for that

  • Great video. good lighting, easy step by step instructions. Thanks for that.

  • @MMB2408 Thank you so much!

  • great vid! thanks!!

  • NICE

  • What gauge wire do you use for this necklace? Great video. Easy to follow. Thanks.

You can also find these trays in packs of 2 or 3 at craft stores like Michael's. Usually can find them by the craft paints.

  • @redfindz Great tips! And I'm glad you liked the video! I am hoping to be filming some soon. I think I might have a camera that has video capabilities. ;)

The beading wire I used is Accu-flex .019". I purchased this beading wire from Fire Mountain Gems. The item number is H20-2512BS. I hope this answers your question. If you have any more please don't hesitate to ask! :D

  • very nice video....! i liked everything about this video - specially the camera is placed at a proper position which adds to good visibility!

  • @rareviews Thanks so much!

  • Very nice!

  • Good video, very helpful, thanks.

  • good video. very helpful.

  • Very good video very clear and easy to understand.

  • good design!

  • THANK YOU so much for a CLEAR and easily understood video! It helped a great deal since I'm a beginner!

  • I enjoyed your video, and the final piece is so pretty. Thank you for your easy to follow instructions!

  • where do you find that dish to keep your beads on while working? anyone know where I might find one? thanks for sharing....

  • The dish I use is called and a Beading Porcelain Tray and was purchased from Fire Mountain Gems. They come in a set of three. The item number is H20-1211PK. An alternative would be a watercolor plastic palette - those are quite easy to find!

  • thank you so much... I'm already a customer of firemountaingems... thanks for sharing.......

  • ..............cool

  • Lol, thanks!

  • Very good video...right speed, in focus, pretty much completely "on screen" as opposed to others that make the item half out of visiblity. Good job!

  • Thanks - that means a lot to me! :D

  • See, I'm old--the former comment should read "due to age".

  • I'm a 77-year old woman. I'm smart but, dut to aging, slowing down. I find your tempo relaxing and encouraging. Good job.

  • You just taught me something very important! I've read books where they say to string the wire (after attaching the clasp) back through several beads. This was always very difficult for me to do when attaching the second clasp. Now I don't have to do that anymore! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for showing me YOUR way!

  • Your video was difinitely informative and helpful you made it look so easy

  • Thank you so much!

  • I've learned something today! Thanks

  • That's so good to hear! Thanks for watching! :)

  • nice

  • Thanks!
