Guys. Maybe he likes the piece being played fast. Sometimes because you interpret the piece in a different way, to hear someone play it faster, or just differently can make you want to point out the mistake. And that's coming from a 12 year old.

Pretty good, but it soundy really rushed in places - particularly with the right-hand chords towards the end. This piece can be so much better if you get the flow of the music right, which is insanely difficult at this kind of speed. I'm doing this for grade 5, and I honestly think it sounds better when I play it at about 150 bpm.

Second part your left hand should go louder then your right, and u join the notes, it's not staccato..

It was good but heres some tips:

1. It's WAY too fast. Play it around 144-150

2. For the first part, think of each 2 bars as a phrase, then get faster and faster and louder and louder throughout the 2 bars. Then go back to what you were doing but for the next 2 bars

Practise something long enough and you will get it. ~

Like doing scales.. start very slowly so your hand gets used to the positions required, and you will gradually speed up.

Personally I didnt like this piece.. and played "it aint necessarily so" ~ greatest challenge of that was opposing rhythms in either hand for the first part.. then a hard challenge learning all the jumps which build up to the climax, then back into to opposing rhythms.

This piece is very deceiving. It looks a lot harder than it is. It’s just broken chords throughout the piece and is full of imitation. I found this the easiest to learn compared to the other two pieces for grade 5. (A:4 & B:2) can you play A:4 by any chance Thomas Arne Sonata No 6. I’m interested to see how you play it thanks.

@Vesivian Its actually very straight forward. ~ Its basically playing a pile of chords fast... but not this fast. ~ I may choose this piece for exam although it depends whether I can print a page that I have to turn, which is impossible.

@ancientsolar what makes it impossible to photocopy a page and stick it in the book? Or just lie them all out like how I did it. It is acceptable in exam to use photocopy for the purpose of saving page turning (given you have brought the original into the room)

I live in the US and I think that under the "fair use" doctrine you should be able to copy pages for the purpose of avoiding page turning. That may not be the law in UK, or if it is the law in the UK also, then it may be a condition of the exam as it is administered by ABRSM. Theiir exam, their rules.
