I always love Netrebko. And love this performance so much. I've been listening to it for weeks. D'Oreste D'Aiace is very difficult in performing both exactly and emotionally. In this version, Netrebko's got both. I really enjoy her excellent vocal technique in this performance, and her nonverbal expression, of course.
It's a bit pitiful that her voice changed after she's got an angelic son.

@enpury I disagree. And she gets paid quite a bit for singing in her specific fach: dramatic coloratura. Historically, much bigger voices have been wildly successful in the same repertoire. The rep she sings is not for bird voices, generally, especially not in big houses, which is where she is employed.

Then comes phrasing, diction (PERFECT Italian) and last but not least the incredible...not emotional...I would say MORAL power of the character portrait. And to tell the truth, this piece of Mozart singing is so bad that it gives me the creeps...Try to just listen and not look at her pretty face - becuse noone can deny that she is very beautiful - these people must have something wrong with their ears. @enpury I disagree. And she gets paid quite a bit for singing in her specific fach: dramatic coloratura. Historically, much bigger voices have been wildly successful in the same repertoire. The rep she sings is not for bird voices, generally, especially not in big houses, which is where she is employed.
