  • Many times, the soloist gets drowned out by the gigantic sound of the chorus, but not

Nicolay Gres! His clear, bright, vibrant voice soars, piercing the air with heroic

and heartfelt emotion. The Ensemble's great artistic presence is stunning with

its nuanced expression, deeply affecting singing and balanced but assertive

support of its soloist. All the performers bare their souls in this deeply moving

performance. They always have the power to move me to tears! Thank You,

    Linda!

Thank you for another great review, Kievest!

  • Great! This is such a beautiful song!! Thank you for posting! But this song was recorded not at the Bolshoi theatre but with the Alexandrov Ensemble...

  • @LHaritonov

That is interesting, because the recording had 1955 in the source (??), though it does sound like the Ensemble.

  • @riverhouse2007

Don't trust that source... It was absolutely unreliable! Believe me...

  • @LHaritonov

Then I shall correct it. 1967?

  • @riverhouse2007

No, I found out that the song was first published on the Mono LP in 1964. Music and lyrics by A. Popov.

  • @LHaritonov

Thank you. I'll correct the descrip.
