DNA testing also saves SOME of the lives of people on death row, but some can't get their case appealed to do those basic tests, and sometimes the DNA evidence is inconclusive. Not to mention DNA tests aren't the only way to prove someone innocent, nor are people who are guilty always accountable (for instance, in the case of the mentally handicapped).

@BjoernarEricSven Innocent people die all the time. In car crashes for example. I doubt you would sneer at car manufacturers or the very idea of the automobile. A rational response would be to put airbags etc in the car and reduce the number of innocent deaths as much as humanly possible. Same with the death penalty. DNA now saves the lives of innocent people who are on death row. We're getting better at killing the bad guys and sparing the innocent. Where's the problem? There is none.

@preemptivestrike20 Except car crashes aren't mandated by the goverment, nor are they the main intended purpose of cars. DNA testing also saves SOME of the lives of people on death row, but some can't get their case appealed to do those basic tests, and sometimes the DNA evidence is inconclusive. Not to mention DNA tests aren't the only way to prove someone innocent, nor are people who are guilty always accountable (for instance, in the case of the mentally handicapped).

My best friend had an abortion a few months ago, and it was an insanely hard decision for her, and she still feels guilt and doubt over it. It will probably haunt her for the rest of her life, even though we both acknowledge that it was the best decision.

I am "livid" about the idea of allowing parents to humanely kill their baby before they are one year old, as well as abortions and contraception.
