I know the comment was a while ago...but comparing SRV to Nugent is like comparing the New York Yankees to the Montreal Canadiens. Two completely different games ruled by each in different decades.
EXCELLENTE!!! Great video of the Master of FeedBack.... Wish I could've been there to see this. But this video made me think I was there! Great Contribution! Thanks!
Wow...Ted..Derek and even Rob together for the first time in 30 years or so. Rest in peace Cliff. Wish they would tour with this show. Ted needs to let his hair down, Rob could grow his back.
You really set yourself up for a little disappointment by comparing Ted with SRV. Really now, how could you ever draw the conclusion that there were any comparable similarities in their tastes or styles? Nugent, a straight ahead rocker, and Vaughn unarguably, one of the best blues guitarists to ever walk the earth. Texas leaves an indelible influence on its best players. Suffice it to say, I don't believe their is anything in their background, influences and that would justify comparison.
I have been expecting earsplitting, supersonic, electrically amplified, bonecrushing, ridiculously toned, astounding rock guitar from the Nuge for 30 years and he has delivered every stinking time. He is the epitomy of "much more"--Flash is dead on
Ted Nugent on avoiding the draft, "Because I failed to serve in Vietnam, I feel an obligation now, to do everything I can to support those defending our freedom. Do I feel guilt and embarrassment? Yes."
But then again, I'm sure you've done lots with your life.
