Actually, you have manipulated your surroundings to reflect your thoughts of marital arts and Asian culture. Finding martial arts theory in nature would be like observing the waves of the ocean; advance and retreat. Watching the animals fight, snake & crane, etc. You have only proven that you can matrix your own existing ideas over your surroundings. In that case, you are not learning about marital arts. You are only reaffirming your perspectives on it.
You know, you could have used a large variety of actual arguments to demonstrate your statement, discipline and focus, which are aspects that supposedly make part of leading a good life, are crucial to martial arts. The base-principles of true martial arts can be found anywhere, you could take Miyamoto Musashi's "Book of Five Rings" (Go Rin No Sho) as an example, or even the way nature was observed in Kung Fu origins, and how it was used to enhance life in many aspects.

Your idea is just something that come out from nowhere and has no firm ground to support it...you peel the pencil to 5 pieces so that the protruding layers resemble fingers...but that's done intentionally...what about i peel it thousand pieces? well ya, when u curve your fingers together a bit then the shape resembles the half of yin and yang if we look from the side. But what if we curl them up to turn them into a fist, would u say that then it resembles the whole round shape of the sign of yin and yang? Well, in my opinion, the essence of yin and yang is not about shape or resemblance of its sign to whatsoever, 'coz the yin yang sign is just a physical symbol to represent yin and yang which are subtle and abstract.
What matters most are the principles and 'teachings' which are hidden behind the terms of 'yin and yang', which explain the balance of the universe and why things happen in certain ways around us as well as the effects of not keeping the balance.
But i appreciate yr hard work in trying to portray yin and yang. I believe if u keep up yr effort in studying yin and yang, then one day u will be successful in getting hold of the essence of yin and yang and become a master to explain yin and yang :)

If we superficially look at it with a light mind, it will be really nonsense. If we deeply and widely look at it, we shall find all human activities and their results in it. in korea, people say eum yang instead of saying yin yang which could have connection to places where we live and lunar calender... my point of view of this video, if happeh wants to know more about philosophy of asia, he should read more books not depending of only one text

Thinking of the martial arts in everyday life is not a good idea. It harbors hate a corruption. Yin and Yang should be contemplated as a way to find inner peace. The Taiji is not a symbol of a hand. You babble and spread lies. Yin and Yang are opposites and were never originally a symbol of fighting.

Well, where to start. First considering you don't respond back to these comments, I think I will post this comment for the value of future viewers. There is no secret of Tai Chi being presented here. Misinformation? Entertainment? Hard to say why this is posted. Interesting that so much time was utilized for this production. I think relating peeling a pencil to form a Yin Yang Symbol to prove finding martial arts in daily life is a real stretch of reality. Wow. Thanks for sharing.

Look at your Pc monitor.
Shave the edges so it is a circle, now add a horizontal line in the middle. Now bend that line left on the top half and right on the bottom half. Add two small circles top left, & bottom right. Colour one half black and the other white, now colour the small circle in the white half black.
See I made a yin Yang symbol out of my PC monitor.
You can do this with ANY object.

martial arts are not based on a symbol, its just a graphic way to explain there is a dot of good in evil and viceversa. and also that u have to learn to balance your life based on that theory. but you can match anything to what your are doing with ur cgi's.
U have a good way of graphically relating things to life, with all my respect i think you should be in industrial design.

I get what you are trying to say, and to a certain point, I agree that martial arts pervade all areas of life. But the yin yang sign represents qualities of things, rather than their external shapes. If you have Tao, you should know not to be caught up with external appearances.

well ya, when u curve your fingers together a bit then the shape resembles the half of yin and yang if we look from the side. But what if we curl them up to turn them into a fist, would u say that then it resembles the whole round shape of the sign of yin and yang? Well, in my opinion, the essence of yin and yang is not about shape or resemblance of its sign to whatsoever, 'coz the yin yang sign is just a physical symbol to represent yin and yang which are subtle and abstract.

we do see the resemblance...it just has no relevance to the meaning of yin and yang...some to martial arts because i guess you could use that hand formation in attacks or defense but other than that. you might want to do some research on yin and yang first before posting stuff like this
