  • I've been thinking of getting the tobacco sunburst one---I recently sold my FG700S but not because it wasn't good--it was very nice--I just get in moods of not wanting to keep playing sometimes---and later I regretted getting rid of my guitatar--OH WELL, I thoght of buying it back from Guitar Center but I am thinking of just getting a FG730S Tobacco Sunburst instead

  • @micmoable Yeah, this is a really great guitar, and I highly recommend it if you're in the market!

  • @OneWhoSharesPedals looks and sounds nice

  • When you've got the strap pin installed on underside of neck, when strap is placed on pin, end of strap-the leather part may protrude a bit and slightly interfere with you playing the high up close to the body notes---so, like I and many other guitarists do--either trim the leather that protrudes or just attach a short length of shoe string or small diameter leather string/strip onto end of your strap in strap pin hole and the other end tied to strap pin under neck--this keeps strap end clear

  • Buy a strap pin and very carefully drill a very small hole in the section slightly where heel and neck connect--not on heel but just above where heel joins neck--on the neck itself--then drill hole at just a tad less diameter than screw of strap pin and screw it in position---not difficult to do and it won't cause as much tension on the neck of your guitar--Good luck and good playing!

  • @micmoable Thanks for the tip man! I was kinda timid about doing this because I didn't want to crack the wood. But I think I'll try it out!

  • @OneWhoSharesPedals Be careful, use small bit to drill pilot hole on underside of neck above heal where it joins body-just above the glue joint .CAREFULly drill above glue joint where heal joins underside of neck--don't want to crack glue joint--keep 1/4" or so above and it'll be okay. Make sure hole is on neck and not heal--use very small diam bit first for pilot hole--then switch to bit just a bit smaller than diam of strap pin screw--then screw strap pin to neck--GOOD LUC

  • I think it is not for beginner, it is for pro.

  • how is the fretting on this guitar?

  • Keep making videos bro. I want to keep up with someone my age like you who loves guitar. Haha I don't make vids cuzz I don't have the equipment and I couldn't work a computer if my life depended on it. Keep up the good work.

  • Hey bro In your other vid you play lefty lol you do both?

  • @ddayxable Haha, nah man. I only play righty. I think the other video is flipped. Whoops.

  • You don't use picks?

  • @ddayxable I usually do, haha. But I didn't for this video because of the finger picking for blackbird. Thanks for watching!

  • What's this guitar like for playing single-note rifs and solos/bending?

    Nice review btw.

  • @fhodngodfn I love playing this guitar for that kind of thing. Bending is like bending on any other acoustic. Difficult. Haha, But that all depends on the gauge of your strings, and how strong your fingers are! Thanks for watching!

  • at 0:43 u can see a right in the middle of the top.. i have the same guitar and i was wondering how is it possible to be a solid top guitar when i see a line ?

  • @rurounisld It's a solid body guitar meaning that the wood is solid all the way through. And that it is not a laminate finish. I think the line was for design purposes, but I don't know.

  • @rurounisld Only the top is solid Sitka Spruce, the sides and back are laminate Rosewood. : )

  • @carotecol y but my question was if i see the line between 2 pieces of wood conected how can that be called solid, but ive seen the same line in guitars worth 2000$ so i guess its something else in that solid thing :D

  • hi, thanks for the answer....I ended up having the action lowered a bit (he filed down the plate on the bridge a little), but ended up leaving the strings on that came with it....he said they were 11s....lights???? I really like the guitar....also have Yamaha's classical guitar and love it too....

    thanks again for the reply!

    --joyce--

  • just bought this today..exchanged from the fg700 (also really nice)....also tried the fg720. Liked the smaller size, but didn't sound as rich as the 730. Did you switch strings (elixir lights or martin bronze), change bridge to ivory/bone, or lower the action (bridge side)? Apparently, some did and say it sounds even better! Thanks! --Joyce--

  • @joyce99999 I didn't change anything about the guitar, mostly because I was content with the tone, but also because I don't want to take the risk of damaging the guitar. I'm sure a change in nut may change it's ability to stay in tune, (not that it has a tuning issue), and that changing the bridge may slightly alter/increase tone. (And how comfortable you are with the action) But I think the most noticeable difference would be try out many different strings and see which you like best! Thanks!

  • Hello there Sir. Woud you mind telling me the country of make of this guitar? Please share

  • @vimuth The label under the strings says that it was made in China. This most likely is why the guitar is so affordable. But do not shy away, it was handcrafted, and meets the excellant standards of Yamaha. I have found no flaws or shortcomings what so ever, and I would 100% recommend it to you! Thanks for stopping by, and feel free to check out my other videos!

  • awright m8 im just about to start playing guitar, looking for good guitar is yamaha fg730s good for an complete beginner ???

    cheers, paul

  • @MrSplashcakes Absolutely. I had no experience what so ever, and I picked this up and learned songs in a heartbeat. The action is good, and the width of the neck is perfect. I definitely recommend it.

  • @onewhosharespedals thanks dude!

  • I have one of these coming through the mail tomorrow with a Dunlop flat capo which is going to be sweet!

  • @gofftell Congrats man! I have a Dunlop capo too, and it works great. I saw your wah on your channel as well, I have that too! Haha, have fun.

  • When did you start playing?

  • @qwertymnbvcfamsecret Acoustic guitar for about a year and a half, and electric for around a year. Do you play?

  • Check back often because I also will do a review of my 2008 Gibson Les Paul Studio Sunburst and my custom Fender Strat. (Partscaster) Thanks for watching and don't forget to like/subscribe!

  • haha i have one of these and it sounds really good. it's gonna be perfect if the bass sounds louder.

  • @snowfall1989 Yeah, I found that too. But you only notice it if you are looking for it. Did you use it in your video?

  • @OneWhoSharesPedals yes, in my only youtube video, i chose this yamie. it's good guitar for its price range.

  • @snowfall1989 It definitely works for my purposes!
