  • John never won the election, Keating's impervious arrogance certainly assured even 'The Boston Strangler' himself would've won that election... All said and done, Keating had all their measure in the House Of Reps... Those were the days of entertainment compared to todays drivle fest and boredom..

  • great to see keating calmly working away while johnny ranted and lurched away over deaf ears

  • Comment removed

  • @esparkely racial tension?

  • I'm afraid the Speaker mislead the House - a motion of no-confidence is the most serious motion that can be moved!

  • this is awesome

  • Fucking Howard is such a gibbering Chimp

  • Howard was the Richard Nixon of Australian politics. Same "amazing comeback," same self-appointment as spokesman of "The Silent Majority," same relationship with the truth. And in the end the same hubris that destroyed them both.

  • Howard is hopeless at trying to get on the front foot, yelling and pointing only exemplifies how pitiful you are. Keating was the greatest Prime Minister this country will ever see, if he were given another term our super funds would be sitting at 12%

Instead we were subject to lies wars and health cuts, what a disgrace John Howard is

  • you ought to be ashamed of yourself lazarus for trying to destroy the voice of the working class and gillard watch this space as you probably be the first and last woman PM australia has seen as you continue to ignore abolishing the ABCC enjoy your xmas pudding as of next year you better pull a few rabbits out of your red hair and improve workers rights on the fair go nation remember fair go or is that in the past with lazarus workchoices wake up or be the 2nd labor pm to be gone in 12 mths

  • LOL at John howard saying AND YOU SIT DOWN lol

  • frogmouth howard made plenty of threats to union members with the australian building construction commission another work choices tax payer funded scheme 6 months jail or a $22.000 fine for any type of industrial action another pineapple by lazarus the frog to working class people if i was offended by the speaker like lazarus was instead today im facing a fine of $28000 thanks to the ABCC up in karratha i will probably end up in prison as i cannot afford $28000 thanks lazarus for the ABCC

  • It's worth giving this clip in some context: The Liberals had just got rid of Downer, the Australian economy was improving rapidly and the media were saying that the rebirth of Howard might be the Coalition's last chance to form government or they'd be banished to political obscurity for a generation.

In the end it wasn't the economy that finished Keating, it was his sociocultural big picture which alienated the battlers (the very people Howard understood best because he was one of them).

  • The people who keep saying that deficits are always bad are probably the same idiots who say low interest rates are fantastic - Low interest rates are only a problem for the same idiots who decide to buy houses they can't afford and therefore have a morgage that they can't even dream of paying off and so expect the world to want low interest. For people with investments High interest rates are good because it gives more return. Does the Govt think of them when trying to effect Int Rates? NO

  • @fatheranthony4pope

The working class would love nothing more than to have the privilege of investment. However with the ridiculous living expenses and high interests rates in this time, It's impossible for them to have the opportunity to grasp the financial foundations that current investors more than have

Maybe you should be moral and worry more about people not being able to pay off their first house more than some greedy snob not cashing in a sufficient amount of profit off his 10th home.

  • @illavitar If you must know illavitar I am part of the working class if you want to know - I have a bloody low salary, its just that I unlike most of the working and middleclass know how to live within my means and keep my books in order. There is no excuse for people buying properties that they cannot really afford, and then complaining about the mortgage being impossible to pay. They should factor in the mortgage when they buy and only buy if it is possible to pay off.

  • @illavitar I only own one house, and I bought it after saving up for it, and only had to borrow less than half its value, unlike the majority of people who would be lucky to have a quarter! I am all for these people owning homes, but they shoul buy within their means instead of buying top end when they cant afford it. Also when I paid my mortgage off it was at a far higher rate than it is today. More than double!

  • Notice how many balls Howard grow when the majority of the Opositioon is out of the house.

  • River of Deceit? I didn't know John Howard was into grunge ;-D

  • 5:07!! hahaha such a legend

  • i love how paul keating was about to stand up when the speaker asked for leader of the opposition.

  • Apparently there is a new rule whereby if you compare someone to Hitler, you have lost the argument. All Australian Prime Ministers prior to John Howard tried and succeeded at making the world and Australia a better place. Howard changed that with his lies. I lose - Howard was the closest thing to a Hitler that I hope Australia ever sees.

  • "the leader of the opposition, calm down ..."

  • Howard is the 2nd longest serving PM. You all had a choice and voted him in 4 times. Get over it!

  • @AndyG1678 fuck we made mistakes ay.

  • Howard looks like an overgrown baby and acts like one too. Someone fetch him that dummy he just spat.

  • At 5:27 Howard shows his true character. Imbecile.

  • its funny how the political circle rolls round. most aussie ppl seem to fall into the labor spell, they have interesting characters, interesting ideas, like to spend and have allusions of grandeur. then every so often when we fall into debt or just bored of labors bullshit we get the liberals back in to steady the ship. then ppl get bored with that cause they dont take the ship much further and history repeats. gillard v abbott is umm, interesting. if Hockey was lib leader, they'd win easy 4 me

  • i fucking can't stand john howard - look at him. an ugly, disgusting, irritating man.

he was a disgrace to the austrailan people. i'm ashamed he was prime minister and feel embarassed to have

fucking hope you die painfully howard

  • Oh John, you little, tiny man

  • John who?

  • Paul who...?

  • Howard is so bland, there is just nothing he can do about it excpt raise his voice..which he does when he warns Keating not to speak history and then goes into a bland retort about history himself

  • @mistersmith6000 well that was his point. that both sides can just as easily bring up shit about each other's history.

  • @AussiePolitics OK I Didn't give him that much credit...I don't think he was suggesting, 'two can play that game' But I gotta say, if my dumb ass didnt give him the credit it is possible that other dumb asses like me didn't either.

  • 1:50 "If ever a man has demonstrated before the national forum of the Australian people that he is arrogantly out of touch with how the Australians feel it is the Prime Minister today".

Kevin Rudd could have used this line.

  • Other than passing on Surplus kicked along nicely by Rio, BHP and co. What positive legacy or policy did he leave behind? Future fundThat was our money! This is a Government. Not a private enterprise. Theres no Medicare, Float of the Dollar, he actually stole 6% Australian Super funds by capping employer contributions at 9% instead of 15%. Additional 6% from 2001 to 2007 through a Bullish market never seen previously!!!!!

  • mining only ever at its peak accounted for 5% of GDP and that started in 2005 - at the end of the howards time but thats all the left wants you to hear.

how did howard steal super funds? by not forcing employers to pay them more so they'd be less likely to give people jobs?

  • Super and the Left link I dont get?? WA equates too 40% of Australians GDP. Somehow I don't think Mining makes up 5 or 10% of WAs GDP. The additional 6% was to be paid into super rather that being passed on as wage increases. Employers wouldn't have paid any more! Think about that last point!

Australia's Super is the envy to the Economic world. Approx 1.6 Til pre GFC in Savings. Now add 6% yearly from 01 and you see what Howards decision to cap it cost working Australians.

  • God I hate Mr. Howard.

  • i wish high school leaders were like this, you know, actually have our captains/ vice captains, house leaders/prefects actually have some political engagement within school administration and actually make a difference for the student body. but instead it's all bad speeches, ribbon cutting and best mate votes

  • Howard is such a bleating, sad little man. History will see him as a bland man who did a decent job minding the store. When he tried to grab the prize and actually do something - he showed his highly zealous, ideological and mean spirit.

  • John Howard is a champion. He along with Costello gave us the biggest surplus for Aust. Unlike Hawke & Keating who delivered nothing but deficits. Labor was responsible for leaving us wth debt. When Keating left office,he behind a $96 billion deficit that Howard/Costello had to clean up. Which they eventually did

  • You are a moron. Pick up an economics book; surplus and deficit are merely motions of economic control. A good government will use both.

  • Nope you are a moron, you obviously can't read for shit. There is a limit to the amount of deficit that a govt can control, Keating gave us the highest deficits of any govt now about to be broken by Swanny boy here. Howard left this govt wth surplus so suck shit.

  • Did you do economics ever at school? Or during your tertiary studies?

  • Let me spell it out for you; a government uses a budget deficit to propel growth. Read: they spend money on stuff so people in the country have increased incomes overall, and in turn spend more money, etc etc. A government will neglect spending in order to throttle back any growth: they will not spend as much, thus overall reducing incomes and spending in aus. They're both elements of the macroeconomic cycle.

  • No let me educate you. Every single time Labor your labor retards love to make up lame excuses. Keating fucked up big time by overspending the budget & how many yrs did it take? Thats right 10 yrs to finally pay it all off. Typical socialist debt driven policy. Looks like someone outta get a real education or go pack their bags & piss off Venezuela or Bolivia. $46 billion in deficit & counting by Labor

  • I'm a swinging voter fyi, you're a "retard" for blindly voting one party all the time. Furthermore, the growth that was enjoyed in the past 10 years was as a result of expansionary fiscal policy.

Do you even know what fiscal policy is?

  • I vote for a party with the right policies & quite frankly ALP is responsible for bringing countless levels of debt to our country. The result of the 10 yrs is due to economic management. Do you actually know that is? Thats right, everytime ALP have deliver a surplus, its only a small fraction then results in deficits. Oh and of course the high inflation, anybody would've voted Keating out,the ppl had suffered long enough

  • Everyone with any knowledge of micro and macroeconomic policy is lmao'ing at you right now.

What does being in deficit mean to you anyway? How does it affect your lifestyle?

High inflation was present MORESO with Howard as treasurer. Look it up genius.

  • Nope everyone is extremly proud of the high level of intelligence displayed by myself. As for Howard being treasurer, funny how you Laborites love to to say something in regards to Howard. For your information Fraser was the 1 who wanted to keep the protectionist policies, A devout devotee of free-market economics, which was challenging economic 6 yrs before Hawke/Keating came in. It was Fraser who caved into the demands of the unions much to Howard's shock causing high inflation! Moron

  • I know you're all intelligent and all, sir, but can you please rephrase the 3rd sentence so it makes sense? Cheers.

    You haven't answered my questions.

How does a budget deficit affect your lifestyle? How does a budget surplus affect your lifestyle?

  • I was implying that Howard's policies were somewhat unheard of at the time when everyone was still resorting to the same old fashioned policies. Not wiping off tariffs or deregulation. I don't need to explain how a deficit or a surplus improves ones lifestyle. Everyone knows how good it is for our economy having a surplus or a deficit. Quite frankly you haven't stated anything regarding the benefits of having a surplus or deficits but thats ok don't expect a socialist like yourself to know.

  • No, please tell me what a surplus means to you. How will it affect your lifestyle. If you can answer that correctly, I will leave you alone.

  • When we have a surplus it means our economy is going strong which means govt actually enought funds to spend on necessary items. Nuff said I dont need to explain anymore, you're a socialist, I'm a free market capitalist.

  • Not exactly yourgasm.

A surplus means that a government has contracted spending in order to put a restraint on any expansion.

A deficit is indicative of a government spending more in order to stimulate an economy.

An economy can be going strong regardless. I also mentioned I'm a swinging voter, which I am. I just get frustrated by people who think surplus=good deficit=bad. Neither is good or bad by itself.

  • A surplus also means when a govt has the money to spend, well they can afford to. Whilst if you are in deficit, then you cannot spend except raise taxes. See Bush's administration which has driven more debt & hence US is now in 1 of the worse recessions plus other factors contributed to that too. Again it really depends on what the govt is spending the $ on as well. If there are debts to pay then having a surplus is good. Govt spending is good but its unnecessary govt spending is what is wrong

  • Howard is completely incapable of coming up with anything substantial to say against Keating. Calling him aarogant, given his refusal to allow costello to have a chance is verging is now in hindsight the biggest joke ever in parliament.

  • Wow, Nice to see Howard had it one time, he's on fire!

  • When Labor is in power, it's 1984.

  • actually labor made some pretty big cuts when they send the country broke.

  • Labor always leaves a debt, Liberal always cleans it up.

  • Howard, only the second prime minister ever to lose his seat, my, how time flies.

  • And their the idiots the run the country!

  • coconut ? you un educiated dope

  • Who is this desiccated little coconut?

  • god save the queen, because nothing will save rudd from your master and mine the australian taxpayer

  • moronic... the taxpayer is your master?

  • the king is dead long live the king

  • Everytime, these conservative cunts get elected they fuck up the economy and its up to labor to invest in infrastructure, and regulation.Always rectifying what these morons have left behind.

  • so what about rudd and 70 billion debt

  • we would be under debt even with a coalition government, besides its time we start investing in infrastructure which70 per cent of the money is going into,as for the surplus the coalition left Labor,22 billion might sound like a lot of money but it isnt, the surplus should of being bigger than that but instead when Howard was in office the mining boom which super charged our economy was spent on''middle class welfare'' and tax breaks for the top end of town

  • dont praise howard for getting a budget surplus, how did he do it, by selling telstra and privatizing the tax payers assets, what was the reason? ''the australian government is not in the business of owning business's''

it wasnt the governments to sell it belonged to the tax payers, it pisses me off

  • john howard deserves some credit for giving Australia a budget surplus but he did not pay enough attention to rising inflation, but howards fiscally conservative agenda may not of being possible if it wasnt for the reforms that hawke and keating brought in the 80s

  • @fenderboy88 Pretty easy to run a surplus given how things were at the time. A trained monkey could of ran the country without a hitch.

  • @fenderboy88 Howard gave us a surplus because he didn't spend a cent on anything..

  • @flyingpigstuff While Howard cut certain things he was a big spender in other areas like election campaigns.

Howard became so use to winning elections that he spent big money during election campaigns and Costello objected in private.

Howard forgot to govern for individuals and became ''labor light'' when it came to some programs like the Baby bonus, giving welfare to single parents in housing commision areas for example which is what you would expect Labor to do.

  • @fenderboy88 As a percentarge of GDP the 1988/89 Surplus was the biggest in Australia's history.

  • hahahaha

  • its funny listening to howard at 3.10. Howard goes on about the external deficit. And what did Howard leave us in 2007? A external account deficit blow out.

How could the man recognise the problem then - but then let the decificit blow out and do nothing... looking at his record in the early 80s and wat he has left us now. There is no doubt that Howard will go down as aust. most incompentent economic manager ever in power

  • No i believe that Gough Whitlam has that title. No one will ever top that effort.

He tried to go into business with a corrupt middle eastern businessman to keep racking up huge deficits

  • the truth hurts doesn't it you gay ass faggot. The fact that you can even call yourself an Australian is a disgrace and an insult to this country. Don't bother messaging until Kevin "Dumb ass" Rudd sends the country broke which won't take to long

  • Shut up you pathetic banana bender did he bring us into recession:no did he send half the country broke: no was he an arrogant prick like keating: no so why don't you stop saying the first things that pop into that shriveled up pea you call a brain and research before posting bullshit like that on this channel

  • to all when you want to talk about politics ,fistly, super is at 9% only at company descretion, kevin rudds new employee agrement contracts allow management to take pencentages of peoples bounses paid after nett wage, and use it to top up to 9% ,"look it up"

i have worked under a labour government, try doing an apprentiship of $90.00 dollars a week wage, $5.00 a week union fees and a $1.00 a week tool allounance thanks to paul keating government, rudd will be worse

  • I really hope Rudd doesn't bring back in compulsory unionism. He's already snuck it in back into Universities I pray it stops there!

  • Keating brought Superannuation in and if elected it would be 15% and pensions would be not needed. Howard failed to do this and it has put so much stress on pensions. Howards social policy was toxic and outdated but if he hand't come along the economy would be up the that famous creek without a paddle

  • Superannuation was not just about pensions. Super provided a massive structural savings base in aust. -which has helped aust. business to grow.

Just imagine if super was increased to 15% by 2000. We would have current-account equilibrium today. As we face a current-account deficit blow out left by howard - and businesses facing the toughest conditions in having to obtain foreign finance to fund activity- we can only dream of what could have been...

  • he introduced gun laws, removing 700,000 fire arms. since then there have been no mass shootings, making australia a safer place. he brought the country into the biggest budget surplus ever after being in its worst state by the previous labor government. which is now picked to go back into deficit after 1 year of the rudd government being in power. if you cant admit that howard made tough decisions to better australia, you are a fool

  • john howard was the greatest PM in history and did more good for the country than the ass kissing labor government will ever do

  • What good things did he do? GST, thats about it.

  • The 'Honourable' J. W. Howard was most certainly NOT the greatest PM ur1mosquito1bites. In his time he ignored Climate Change, took Australia into two wars at the behest of Bush, sanctioned the destruction of Old Growth Forests, blatantly lied to the Australian public in the Children Overboard scandal to mention just a few of his blunders. His gun laws post Port Arthur were the one policy that wasn't a disaster. And that needed the deaths of 35 people to occur.

  • you are an ass. 5% reduction in CO2 emissions by 2020 announced by the rudd government, pathetic. rudd is just a show pony. and if you dont stand behind our troops im sure many people would have you stand in front of them!

  • At least he didn't bring us into a recession

  • Not a Howard voter by how were Howard's support of the US in the aftermath of 9/11 anything like Hitlers invasion of Poland and France?

  • Comment removed

  • @jackseifer22 you fool

  • @cleaverwielder you are a complete fucking retard, who do you think pushed the japs back while we held them whose navy was it that saved the abo's while australians were dying in new guinea ???? THE U.S of fucking A im an australian cunt you are an idiot im also ex infantry, whose reprisal and retaliation do you think the indonesians fear???? the U.S of fucking A again!!!! god bless you America your military might has saved us before and you protect us now thanks heaps Bro's God Bless

  • @cleaverwielder did you know john howard was in new york at the time of the attacks!!

  • Keating got rid of Hawke then gave Australia 12 years of Howard - talk about rooting Labor

  • even Rudd the Dudd kept us in Afghanistan

  • Keating is GOD

  • When was this?

  • grow a brain u wanker! there was a legitimate reason for Afgahnistan...not so much Iraq, but for fuck sakes Johnny wasnt the only one misled.

  • these were the fun days in parlerment

  • Ah yes, this was that moment in time when the cultural elitists were swept away, and replaced and by unitellectual swill

  • To compare Howard to Hitler is simply ignorant.

  • @SkagitIMS yeah howard is much worse

  • @SkagitIMS Yes Hitler Had more brains.

  • @SkagitIMS Indeed it is. Hitler at least achieved some economic reform and had a vision (as warped as it was) for his nation. Howard achieved neither.

  • John Howard was a great PM, he should never have got put out, OZ will regret that.

  • Looking forward to David Cameron getting into 10 Downing Street are you?

  • @jpx08 funny that you said that then, he is in 10 downing street lol

  • greatest PM ever

  • How in heaven's name did Aussies let John Howard be PM for over a decade. He should have gotten tossed out after only one term. The man is hideous!

  • Ahh I miss Keating, least he took it too the tories, was always hilarious. And look at these Howard words, who got out of touch with the public? Or was it a Right Wing extremist pulling the "Centrist" wool over the public eyes, thanks to the little "L" liberals for stuffing up our country for 10+ years. God bless K Rudd

  • you are a an idiotic fool

  • Howard sure was (is) a cock sucker, such a shame he was voted in, he set us back half a century

  • Keating's recession cleared out highly geared housing investors, making housing highly affordable in the mid 90's,eg,outer suburban Melb UNDER $100000! Under Howard,Australian housing has become the most expensive in the world!Good for the haves, very bad for the have-nots!

  • In the fullness of time; Keating will be much better regarded than Howard.

  • Furthermore Keating or Hawke never would have blindly followed such a President as Bush as did John Howard.

  • Hawke probably would have, Keating or Whitlam wouldn't have.

  • Keating would have told Bush to "get stuffed".

  • What did Howard ever do to help the Australian farmer, he had 10 years to lift up those who feed a nation and more; but just like the new australian immigrants caught on the boats, he let them all suffer and starve, to death even. That is not the Australia I know. Yank

  • coming from the view point of canadian parliament norms...i have to admit that the personal insults are overboard. in the cdn house of commons, the mps never refer to each other by name even...always in the third person.

  • This speech won Howard the 1996 election

  • keating has no respect for john howards service. none. not a zilch. where did you get that from?

keating doesnt really respect that many people.

    but he's awesome.

  • It's interesting to note the timing of the above debate. Howard was soon swept into office with a huge majority. And thus the support fom the gallery. Both Keating and Howard hold inherent respect for one another's service to their respetive Party(they entered the same year) yet both were smashed in the end bythe Eletorate. I have huge respect for both Howard and Keating but for diverse reasons. I have none for the teary spiv, Hawke. When will they learn to walk away from office with decency...?

  • Keating entered in 69 I thought.

  • It got personal between those two. Howard did all right with that speech.

  • Loved to watch Keating and Howard go head to head. Love or hate either person(I choose to barrack for Keating)parliament will be waiting a long time to see such a bitter but entertaining battle between two political opponents.

  • the speaker should of kicked that grumpy old man out of the House for shouting so loud. When a Labor member did that (some time between 2004 - 2007) they got kicked out.

  • I agree, how rude Howard was. Should have expelled him out of the house.

  • well look how rude keating was!! He was a horrible bastard and the public new it!

  • 01:11

Speaker: The Leader of the Opposition on censure motion

Paul Keating starting to stand up

John Howard (to Keating): NO YOU SIT DOWN

Paul Keating then sat back down.

  • Howard is a pathetic little rodent, there was a camera crew at a Canberra party in the late 80's - Hawke and Peacock were having a conerswation in the crown when Howard sidled up trying to make a contribution - Hawke and Peacock both stopped talikg - looked at him and told him to piss off. Nothings changed - no one is interested in him anymore as he's not like Keating - Howard is nothing without his primr ministership - a woman beat him in his own electorate. Australia outgrew the little prick

  • might wanna clarify what you mean by "a woman beat him in his own electorate"

    why is that extraordinary?

  • My corporate HO was in Nth Syd not far away from Dessicated Cocanut (ex PM) electorate. Being from Melb, I found my visits there a step back in time. The glass ceiling is far weaker in Melb than Syd. To think that the "most advanced city in the southern hemispere is blokey" is probably an overstatement but it's true that I was taken aback at how more dominant males are in the Sydney corporate world than in Melb. What did Howard do??? What did he change?? Who under $100K-PA benefitted during it??

  • ah, i understand.

in a way i'm not surprised to hear that. when you consider how blokey the Sydney branches of both ALP and LIB, seems like a reflection of that. Melb has always been the superior city. :)

  • Geez KJX, you're quite advanced in your thinking. My sister runs a specialisation program at a poorly resourced Melb. outer suburban hospital - I could not imagine a male doing what she does - multi-tasking with compassion and detail. She's a gen X'er like me - but she's really focused on providing the best care to people who really need it. I'm in awe of her on a daily basis. And the way she's taken control of a process that involves our mum who got cancer. She just made sure Mum got the best.

  • I earn 100k and I would never vote Tory, theyre for the top 1-10% and that is all, with zero regard for anyone else in anyway. Liberty for the elite, not liberty for all

  • he never shut up about working families

  • I am pretty sure the Rudd Government talks about "working families" and the "cost of living"

  • Pity the CAD only got worse under Howard.

  • The problem with the Liberal party to me, and a lot of others feel the same, is that they feel they are born to rule this country and no other party has any duty in doing so.

Howard lost his seat, lost a goverment, even the country parties gave him the flick.

And Costello well thats another story in itself..

  • well the 2007 elections sure rubbed the smirk off Costello's face...

  • He couldnt lie straight in bed, he's got more moves than a tin of worms, as slippery as an eel, lower than a snakes belly, well the list is endless.

  • What hypocrisy in action! I am so happy this backward looking man stuck in the 1950s is no longer leading this great country. It's time for the Labor party to rebuild this country after over a decade of moral erosion

  • I'm with you on this. Australia has lost an entire decade in its potential to adapt to complex social, economic, cultural, and political changes which affect us all, irrespective of political allegiance. The Howard years will be known as a mean time in Australia's history and we must ensure that we implement the necessary steps to make good decisions for Australia's future, based on social and not economic grounds alone, or the narrow sectional interests of the few.

  • cant believe he was in power for all those years.

he looks like a monkey also .

  • this is the problem you people judge parties based on leaders, there looks and stupid things and you dont care about economic reform, our ression that we are about to head into which will be lead by a bogan arse idiot who has never been in goverment, you dont care do you?

  • You sir are obviously an employer , or have been born into a rich family , and have no idea what so ever-what it is like to be a struggling employee.

Ie. the workplace laws , which we could get fired on the spot - NO UNIONS - which basically tore apart the Australian small businesses and etc.

Also - the liberal gov. introduced GST. that is reform in numbers only .

Maybe simpler-but whats the use ?

John howard froze australia's small business industry.

  • mate, im sorry i am at school, yr 12. i think in order for a bussiness to achieve you need a boss that can point at people that don't work and tell them to leave at the end of the day you don't have time to give them warnings yes, howard did introduce the GST but keating drove the country into a ression and said that we "had to have" it

  • He didn't drive the country into a recession. What bullshit. In your mind, what policies or actions on Paul Keating's part lead to the recession?

  • I think I am going to the live the United States. Over government made us into an empire and now we are falling.

  • Was Howard ever in touch?

  • no governments are in touch either labour or liberal politics is bullshit

  • This is so funny to watch, given the events of the 24th of november.

  • That's my birthday.

  • That must have been an awesome Prezzie! :P

  • mine too..best birthday present ever! i got a few DVDs, a card but the best gift of all was given to me later that night when Kevin Rudd proclaimed victory! I'll never forget it!

  • LOL!

  • whatever feelings you have for either party, the truth is that this kind of intellectual, well argued idealogical battles no longer exist in Australia , nowadays politicians do not show much depth and substance.

  • Dont forget the coalition supported financial market reform whilst labor has opposed every plank of coalition tax reform since 1996.

  • "You can rabbit on as much as you like about the past. The more you talk about the past the more you proclaim your embarrassment about the present, and that you have nothing to say about the future". - John Howard

Now that's an interesting comment to reflect upon before the upcoming election this week in 2007. It seems the tables have well and truly turned.

  • tis a shame not as many did as we would've wanted.....

  • I can't believe the way this prick rips at the Speaker!I'd have had the bastard named and ejected by now!

  • John Howard is like a fucking kid... If the speaker asks for order..shut the fuck up
