This is a beautiful movie. And it really get me thought what I want in live. I wanna see more of the world, discovering. Because you don't when live is going to end. And what is live when you haven't seen anything.
My dad knew this guy. He never really hung out with him, but his brother and this guy were like best friends. That's kinda cool that my dad's half brothers friend knew him.
i saw the movie in 5th grade - 4 years later i still love the movie for its beauty - saw him about 60 times, never gets bored - even got a tattoe with: "happiness only real when shared" and i'm proud about it - i love my life when i look down to my arm :)
This is hands down one of my favorite films of all time. I'm taking an expository reading and writing class, where all of the other students and even the instructor were criticizing him and saying he was insane, but I disagreed. This story was effing amazing.
@ComicReliefxD I got mixed feelings. I'm for adventure and getting fulfillment out of this life. I gone skydiving before. However I'm not for suicide. He was ill-prepared.
@u2hubbard I really don't care what other people have to say. I, personally, never thought of suicide or being ill-prepared as reasons for liking him. People got different things from the story, and the only perspective that matters to me is mine.
I think I have what ever desiese he has, All I have been able to think about in the past few months is going to freaking Alaska. Most 14 year olds focus more on getting new electronics or getting the opposite sex to like them but of course when ever I'm not doing anything this is the first think that pops up in my mind. I'm not even a boy, yet all think about is going into survival mode. And honesty, I'm not about to quit becouse some fat American who can help but eat 8 times a day says I cant
Why do people hate on Chris and call him stupid? Because he had the courage to be himself, to be human, to not be controlled by the material world...were all controlled...so we look down on someone who can see past it....reminds me of the romans back in the day
@lolomg69aids If by movie you mean your mum, then yes. Yes it did, alllllll night long (Well not all night, I mean she likes it up the poop shoot too. Then we slept. But straight back to the anal in the morning yayyyyyyyy)
His story is amazing, and truly inspiring. I highly recommend watching this movie, it really gets you thinking about life and the actuality that some lead with a blind eye.
This kid is so selfish and rude, he's not even able to make a call to his parents. I don't feel he is going into the wild... he s going into the suicide.
the sad part is...he is found in that same bus, dead in his sleeping bag with a note wedged between the door asking if there is anybody there....I read the book lol....if your really interested I highly suggest reading the book
@immigrantpunqs Feel smarter than the rest of us with such a comment? Trying to prove how sophisticated you are with class-conscious rhetoric? Of course, your point of white privilege has relevance, but don't totalize the film in such a negative way when it inspires many for the better.
For all we know we only have one life to live,so think long and hard on what you want out of life. There is nothing wrong with doing what make's you happy.
@Gonzaga78 I never said anything about killing anybody, you stupid mother fucker. And who is the one that brought that shit up? Oh yeah,it was you. I don't want to hear about your sick thoughts, from that fucked up head of yours. So keep it to your self, and kiss my ass.
@sixx479 you said "there's nothing wrong with doing what make's you happy".... well, if you're a killer you got something wrong with what makes you happy. just saying.
AWWW MAN!! We're reading the book right now at school. I swear to god i cried when i found out that Chris died. You could just feel the connection to the book tingling with in you!! Just pure genius!! Man chris i wish you were still here!!
The most inspiring movie I've ever seen! When just the trailer first came out, I cried- it gave me chills. Sad but beautiful movie. So hard for me to watch b/c every time I do, I'm very tempted to do what Chris did. As many people said, it changed their lives in some ways- same here. Long live the spirit of Chris.
i cant seem to find the song if recall its in the early part of the movie when he starts travelling hes in the car on a bridge or something. its more joyful kinda popish then the other songs in the movie.
This movies is the evidence of happiness without being addicted to material...not near to the nature,,,but into the nature.Years before people used to live like this and in my opinion they will return to this way of living soon..as long as the history repeats itself.

Great movie but Kristen Stewart looked like a total creeper in that movie. Began laughing at the scene when she was just staring at him with her guitar.
im sure the films great and i will get round to watching it, but seriously people, BUY THE BOOK , im not a bookworm, infact my view of books a few months ago was that there boring and too much effort for what thier worth, until i read 'into the wild', cant stress enough just how good it is, i never realised how good reading can actually be lol , seriously, give the book a chance youd be so surprised

im sure the films great and i will get round to watching it, but seriously people, BUY THE BOOK , im not a bookworm, infact my view of books a few months ago was that there boring and too much effort for what thier worth, until i read 'into the wild', cant stress enough just how good it is, i never realised how good reading can actually be lol , seriously, give the book a chance youd be so surprised
