  • I'd tell myself to take time to date my husband. Those first 3 months f my children's lives were the longest and most demanding months of my life. Chasing around children can make you forget to be in love with your partner everyday. I don't know what I would have done without the support and help from my hubby.

  • I'd tell myself that I can do it, that WE could do it and we would face great struggles and triumphs with our first baby but that we would succeed despite the fear heartache and worry.

We were 21 w/our first & he has Down Syndrome, was premature, needed open heart surgery at 10w old and had life threatening complications 3w later that left him on life suppor in the ICU for 3 months. Now, he's 3 1/2, slowly catching up and is HEALTHY. We both succeeded and our marriage is stronger for it.

  • I Noticed That All Negative Comments Are Removed Was Just Wondering If Everyone Here Believes In Censorship? Because Thats what it Is Just Puting that Out there

  • @BCSpiderman No comment has ever been removed from this video. What are you talking about?

  • @stratola Capitalization.

  • Wow...so poignant, beautiful and yet such important and simple reminders - I am not a mother yet, but hope to experience this event for myself one day soon, that all these fabulous mothers have already. Despite this fact, I thank you all for such a moving tribute - messages that I think we could all apply to life, everyday, in striving to be the best person we can be, and succeeding and surviving all those more challenging moments, whatever they may be. Thank you x

  • I've almost reached the halfway point in my first pregnancy. I still can't believe sometimes that those little jabs i feel throughout the day is a little life growing inside of me. it's exciting and scary at the same time. Sometimes I feel like I'm going to burst with all the love I already have for this baby, it makes me cry :')

  • Lovely video. Mothers are so dang important. If you want to give a little gift to your mom and help spread the word about the very real danger so many mothers around the world face in pregnancy and childbirth, check out the "Prayers for Our Mothers" project on my channel.

Everyone who loves their mom and believes that all women should have the opportunity to experience the joys of the motherhood should make one of these "Prayer" videos!

  • My first child, a 4 month old baby girl, has a cold. At 4 a.m. last night, she woke up crying and could barely feed from the congestion in her nose. I did everything in my power to do...and then "sat up all night, just watching her breathe." I came across this video just this morning after feeling tired and not understood by my husband, and just BAWLED. Thank you so, so much for making this video, because "Google doesn't have children."

  • Interesting vid. I note there is a very specific demographic... and all of the cards are written in the same hand-writing/printing. Despite that stuff, it's pretty cool, for sure.

  • I'm far from being a mother, but I watch this video once a month.. So beautiful :)))

  • I remember saying: my family has been doing this thing (having children) for many generations. Light-hearted response, but still pertinent.

  • Lovely video. My husband and I recently adopted an amazing baby girl, and I find myself wondering how the video from the adoptive parent perspective would be similar and different. It's a totally different kind of "labor," but equally frightening and awesome. What would I have told myself? "You thought adoption was Plan B, but when you meet her, you'll know how incredibly wrong you were."

  • @novusonline1 I actually have to agree with you! IM a woman and a step mother and my step sons father is amazing and was his only carer when I came onto the scene. He did a wonderful job changing diapers, taking care of him and just being there, and this doesnt even take into account my step sons autism!

I take my hat off to fathers as well as mothers..

  • <i am a grandma for the first time and I CRIED just remembering for me and now for my daughter!

  • Beautiful video! Made me cry

  • nice work!

  • I have 5 months untill i meet my little one and this video made me realise that its ok to worry and be scared, its ok to not be perfect, nobody is. That not every day will be a good day but thats ok. I know that some days i will get sad or lonely and sometimes i will just want to get away but its ok because those days will pass and will lead way to more amazing days to follow

  • not to mention most of this can be inteneded for moms or dads!!!if you r the mom and dad of your children this is for you!!

  • Loved it... Touching and yes, true love is what I have felt...with all the ups & downs... I have four gorgeous Gifts from God all under 5 years old. Keep up the awesome work Mummies & Daddies! :)

  • how about when they are babies, they will keep you awake because they need you, but once they are teenagers, they'll keep you awake because they don't.

  • Your video inspired me to make one, it's called Reflections on First year.

  • Did you notice that the signs seemed to be printed in the same hand? Like somebody printed a bunch of signs and said, "Here, hold this." It's doesn't appear to be authentic and it's a turn-off.

  • @marnimum I noticed a few of the signs make their a's differently than the others... maybe they just asked people to print really big and clearly? or maybe a couple people were just responsible for making the big signs with the other's written down answer on it... I think it is authentic.

  • Dads: make a video of just Dads! I'd like to see your thoughts.

  • Dads: make a video of just Dads!

  • i think this is amazing! i'm a young mother of 2, and i really enjoyed this video. keep up the good video's bud!

  • My favorite one is: "You are about to meet true love". Because that's what it is!!!

  • @theanrymonster -- man to man, quit being an asshat. Also, lovely to see my friend Moe imparting her motherly advice.

  • What fantasy land was this video made?

  • Lovely video, but pretty white washed...apparently the only mothers in this world are white...very disappointing! diversity is good!

  • Would add:

    - Throw out the books. Your baby hasn't read them anyways.

    - Don't judge yourself or your child based on whether your baby is or is not normal. There is no normal. They are just themselves, and that makes them perfect.

    - You are a great mom. When in doubt, repeat as needed.

  • Re insulted fathers: aside from the obvious points that mothers carry the baby for 9 months, deliver the baby with great pain and health risk, breastfeed, develop a unique bond with the child... the burden of primary parenting responsibility usually falls more on the mom. It's a scary endeavor, esp for first time moms and that's what this video is about. There is no comparable statement for men. We go off to work and wish the moms well. A Dad

  • @steveofonic except for single dads like me who watch the mom leave for some other dude and I have to go to work and be the mom and the dad.

  • @steveofonic Well said

  • I'm about to meet the true gift from God. How can something so perfect be shaped inside of me? This is love like I have never felt before.

  • Folks, fathers can be - and most of them really are - amazing, but they just can't give birth. I think that's the idea behind this video. Moms see their babies coming out of them, it's a powerful though scary thing. The babies are a part of them, just not inside anymore. I know fathers are caring and protective too - but I think it's just different when the child comes out of you, after 9 months.

  • I would say to myself: LAUGH IS GOING TO BE YOUR BEST FRIEND. Being a mother is powerful. Congratulation mommies!!!

  • Ba ha ha after seeing some of the stuff you can find in there you HAVE to be a real man to change nappies :P Great stuff, really liked this. I'd like to see what dads would say too. Is there one??

  • what a joyful uplifting touching reminder, we are all beginners sometimes, who need comfort. And truly all of these statements could apply to every time we have change in our lives

  • Personally I would say "Take those five minutes, cry when you need to, He will be amazing and not despite of your mistakes (Because you will make them) but because of everything you did right (regardless of what others may have said at the time!)"

  • Cool video! Lots of good advice here :)

  • how about "it's worth it" :)

  • Thankyou... a great mum sent me this to reassure... I have written some of the lines in my diary, ready to reflect on when my little bundle of joy gets here...

  • love it! I'm a new mom and all is so true.

  • how do you feel about the reflections of breastfeeding video?

  • LOVE IT

  • love it! moms, love yourselves& know you will never be perfect. you can only perfectly love your children. :)

  • I can see how this could help some mothers, but don't forget about the fathers! A lot of fathers in modern society are able to work flexible hours ( like myself a freelance web developer) and provide the majority of child care.

Please do this video with Fathers.

  • @TheAngrymonster because this one is about Mothers. Feel free to make one about Fathers, brothers, sisters, pets, or lamps

  • @TheAngrymonster This particular video was posted from a website entitled "Reflections of Motherhood" at reflectionsofmotherhood(dot)com That's why there is no Reflections of Fatherhood video. Looks like a video made to celebrate mothers day. I'm sure that the website owners are focusing on their theme and not necessarily downplaying dads in any way, it's just not their focus. It would be nice to get a good inspirational video for Father's day for sure!

  • @TheAngrymonster i agree with stratola. if you want to do one on fatherhood then do one yourself. nobody is stopping you. this video is just designed to make women feel better about themselves. i dont see the problem with that. i am pregnant and having a hard time with my feelings on how i will cope as a new mother and this has really cheered me up. unlike men women have to carry children and give birth to them. a mothers job is never done xx

  • also thankyou uploader for posting this video. it really made me feel better <3

  • I'm 5 months along and this video really makes me cry and sing and smile, i cant wait to hold my little one and i know ill never see the world the way i did before. Forgive your self, something i am still un able to do but i do believe this to shall pass with time.

  • Made me cry... I would've added, its ok to cry!

  • I would have added that nothing will ever be the same, no one knows your child better than you, nothing else you ever do will be so important, and in no other situation will you ever feel closer to God.

  • I had my daughter on Sept 12 and all these thoughts ring true. Especially Sleep Now and No one really knows what they're doing. I didn't know what I was doing but a great support system helps. And if someone offers to help, TAKE IT!! Good Luck!!

  • Thank You. I see so manh of my questions who knows. it your life and your baby and you are alone.

  • Oh this was so wonderful. It made me cry and love that I am a mom.

  • Thanks for sharing, just over 5 weeks till my due date, its midnight, my neck is killing and I can't sleep so 'Sleep Now" shouted loud and clear. Hope life is looking after you all, we miss you xxx

  • whats the song???

  • THank you!

  • What's the music? I love the whole video, and especially the song.

  • @ErikaT001

You must not like the WHOLE video...at least not the last three seconds. The song credit is on there. The song is "Days Away" by InAston. ;)

  • i cried when i watched this, i LOVE it, as a first time mom one of the things i would go back and tell myself is OF COURSE its going to hurt, but the second he is in your arms you forget about the pain. and the other is appreciate your mom and grandma, they will both be your rock during labor.

  • Remember that life will always be busy. Take time out to listen to what your child is wanting to tell you or show you, even if it is something you think is unimportant or silly. You are the most important person in the world to them and they can't wait to share EVERYTHING with you! And they will.

  • Awe this was really sweet. I sent it to all the Mommies I know. Really cool!

  • my favorite saying about motherhood "The days are long but the years are short" SO TRUE

  • Essential viewing for all parents and parents to be. This made me cry, coz I wish I'd watched it when my girl was a baby. We so need to share how we feel and how its ok to struggle... I just remember every other Mum in my Mums group seemed to say 'everything's going really well' when Im sure it wasn't ... we need to make it ok for us to be imperfect mums and support other mums in good times and bad

  • You forgot one: It's OK to ask for help. You're not imposing on your husband, mom, in-laws, etc to ask for their help.

  • @StixStory i was having my own little cry....boy number 1 moving out and i have never felt more broken hearted! i have 3 more to go and to not know if i can bear it!! "breathe"

they will forevery be our babies - enjoy every second.

  • So simple, so true, so free of the judgement we are so caught up in. Take the hints, you will never regret it:) Promise. Thank you for the vid:)

  • My kid just turned 14 and is now in 9th grade...high school!

    So, I cried!

    Beautufull vid!

  • For all the new and renewed mommies.

  • This was sweet. My contribution : Do the best you can and never stop trying to outdo yourself.

  • LOVE this!! Only thing I'd add is It's true what they say, "they grow up so fast so enjoy every minute while you can even if it's difficult sometimes!"

  • Thank you so very much for this. I am 5 months pregnant and to see and hear these things made all the difference in the world for me today.

    I am so very grateful.

  • @gabriellegg Congrats on ur pregnancy! In 4 months u'r gonna experience instant ABSOLUTE love... It's gonna be a feeling like u've never had before. I'm so happy for you. :) Enjoy it! :)

  • This video is about mothers alone about time picked up how hard we had worked 2 get our lovely babies out into the world. Motherhood is about mums not about fathers! I am pretty sure a father doesn't do what a mother does which is hard work we are all selfless, caring, loving, and sharing with our babies and children! I say about time we get recognized of what we all do and what motherhood is all about! Not about anyone else but us its great mother power what yous think?! :)

  • Just saw this video on another site - this is to all of my dear friends that are moms or about to become moms. The part that I liked the most about this video is the sign that says, "Forgive yourself." As a person that doesn't have kids I don't get mommy guilt. All of you guys do amazing jobs! I can't understand how any of you feel guilty. Forgive yourself! Right now! C'mon - you're all amazing for being so selfless, wanting to give your kids the very, very best, and doing it *every* day.

  • What a great video!

  • This is such a lovely, wonderful video. It spoke to me, as I'm sure it has to many, many mothers. It re-assured me in regards to my youngest boys and comforted me about my oldest, now-adult daughter. It all applies no matter how many children you have or are having and no matter how old they are. Thank you!

  • Made me cry. How incredibly sweet. Beautiful messages.

  • Excellent video!

  • Sharing this with everyone I can, anyway I can. I love it so much. (And I like the transitions) :)

  • They forgot a few that I would have added, like "Take a nap," "prune juice can ruin playdates," and "respect the power of happy hour."

  • Loved it!!

  • I cried.

  • Brilliant video Scott!

I wish I'd watched this before I had my first.

    ~Susan

  • great video!

  • It goes so fast so enjoy your baby, and it is OK to hold them all the time if you want to, before you know it, they will be big kids.

  • @TheAngrymonster

If it was a video about fathers or about parents, they would. But this is not the case.

The description says We asked moms...

  • @TheAngrymonster It's called "Reflections of Motherhood" not "Parenthood".

  • @mrsprincesslily you mis-interpreted what I said. It's that the video in not about parenthood, but specifically about being a mom. I have custody of my son, I'm well aware that it isn't just about a mother.

  • @TheAngrymonster Fathers are WELCOME to make a similar video! Go dads!

  • @TheAngrymonster Good question - Fathers, where's your video?? Go for it!

  • @TheAngrymonster: Yeah, the fathers should be telling the mothers that they're beautiful, that it's all going to be ok, that mom should get out tonight for coffee by herself, that she's brilliant, that you're thrilled that the baby has her eyes, that you are sooooo glad you married her, that you'd do it all over again. Start with that.

  • I would tell myself: "stay calm. she needs you."

    Nice video. Thanks for sharing.

  • Wow this was really beautiful, made me cry and laugh - excellent job!

  • I would have written:

You won't be perfect, but you will be good enough'. :)

  • I would tell myself, "The cycle stops with you."

  • Comment removed

  • wow, this is amazing and very touching!

  • Scott & Allison - this video is beautiful, touching, inspiring and most of all... it spoke directly to my 6 months pregnant self. I'm glad to know all of the things I am going through and the feelings I have are totally normal... You guys are amazing!! xoxo Erin Blaskie

  • I loved this video, thanks! Beautiful photos and an even more beautiful message!

  • I think it's INCREDIBLY well done, VERY moving and EASY to follow!!

  • Transitions were incredibly distracting.

  • @avinyl I don't want to sound negative, because it has a great message, but it looks like it was just put into one of those programs that turns your photos into a movie/slide show. So you're right, the transitions were distracting, but they can get away with it because the photos were solid and the song choice fit really well. Really well.

  • @avinyl Oh I actually loved them. I wish I know what software was used.

  • @nataliemedia I'm pretty sure it's from an online site called Animoto.com. I've used it before and it looks just like that.

  • @klryan26 Thanks for letting me know! That's a cool site :)

  • "Google doesn't have children."

  • Every mom, both new and experienced, needs to watch this video. Stunning.

  • Nice Work!
